There hasn't been a huge influx of bad guides lately or anything, but it'd be nice to be able to keep the useless information from diluting what's actually valuable.

I'd link to examples but I'm sure anybody who's been paying attention will know what I'm referring to.

I must agree, some guides are just really short and useless, look more like something to put on a sonic cheat site or something.
Though they can be deleted...

^The first post could've been the word "topic" and we'd all still agree.

I thought only Spaceship Users had their guides auto-approved. What's changed since then?

Guides should be understandable and not about a way to get a green stat, which this guide does the opposite of.  Delete kthx

I doubt it, but servermove maybe?

Or even the switch over to SMF from IPB, because remember Prominent members had that glitch for a while. Y'know, where newbies would appear there.
<Tails> also "GET BLUE SPHERES" on a black-and-white TV remains the best special stage of all time

<Achlys> wat ave you done!

The field in the database is called "autoaccept".  It controls the initial value for a field for the user's submitted guides called "approved".  However, and I don't know when this took effect, but currently guides are displayed even if they have approved=0.  So autoaccept doesn't really do anything in that regard right now.

What autoaccept does do properly at the time, is control video uploads.  If you have autoaccept=0, you're still able to submit guides (which are supposed to be masked until reviewed, but as mentioned this isn't working), but you can't upload videos at all.

autoaccept is by no means tied to the mgroup field which controls who shows up on the Prominent Members page.

I've had the "automatically accepted guide" message for a very long time now. Started not to long after I first joined.

I fifth this.  There should also be the option to pull any of your own guides if you desire for whatever reason.  Editing them would also help to fix any problems during submission (simply C&P the clean version of your guide or the latest one, etc).
