A matter of tremendous and urgent import!
« on: November 14, 2005, 02:26:45 am »
I cannot believe that this has been brought to nobody's attention before today, but it is indeed true (as pointed out by Sprint):

ALL FOUR NEW SONIC GAMES STEAL TAKEN ACRONYMS.

Allow me to demonstrate:
Sonic Rush - SR
Shadow the Hedgehog - StH
Sonic Riders - SR
Sonic the Hedgehog (06) - StH

And I thought SA/SAdv was horrid. How else do you abbreviate Sonic Rush? ...SRush? SRus? Lame. Guys, we are totally and thoroughly screwed.

I'd put:

Sonic Rush - Rush
Shadow the Hedgehog - ShTH or GUN (this one is too hard)
Sonic Riders - Riders
Sonic the Hedgehog XBox 360/PS3 - Well, a name hasn't been confirmed yet, I'm sure it won't just be called Sonic the Hedgehog since there is already 2 Sonic the Hedgehogs. D:
Chaos Emeralds: Yellow, Red, Green, Blue and Purple.
Keys: Light Blue.

I'd go with Rush, ShTH, Riders, and...

I'm not sure what to do for the next-gen one, as I thought I saw something that said Yuji was going to call it Sonic the Hedgehog in commemeration of Sonic's 15th.

Sonic N, n-for-next? Damn, taken. *stabs N-Gage*
STNG? Looks too much like Star Trek :/
I think we're stuck with Sonic Next :(

Though using our system, isn't StH not taken? I mean, we use S1 and S1GG, do we not?
<Tails> also "GET BLUE SPHERES" on a black-and-white TV remains the best special stage of all time

<Achlys> wat ave you done!
<Spinballwizard> apparently killed your h key

I am pro for using that, and to answer the question, yes.
Did you not think I had a mind?

Dude what the FUCK.

Surely you should KNOW well ENOUGH that StH is not Shadow the Hedgehog.

Shadow = ShtH!

We already have StH. Comedy came out in 1991 option.

'Sonic the Hedgehog' on the X360 and PS3 is what we in the 'biz' call a tentative title. It is so very, very, very doubtful that that will be the actual name! I am pro calling it Sonic Next, or Sonic 360, as others have adopted. Abbrev to SN or S360? Sonic N doens't work, due to the silly Ngage. Oh it is silly.

Also for the next pair, you again forget an existing game! And that is Sonic R! What a conundrum! On account of shortness, Sonic R is disallowed from having an abbrev. As for riders and rush... SRi and SRu? Actually, I propose that Sonic Riders be abbreviated to SWTF.
