I never counted them. What counts for me is what people can see here..

EDIT: Jawzun is apparently up for a Sky Rail 5 competition! Awesome!

62
45.14 in Sky Rail 5
Haven't played for two days and then after 16 tries this comes out. Second to last rail was a bit slow, and I lost 0.3 seconds on the pumpkins. I might go for sub45 soon, but now I seriously need to go back to FC2!

Official count: 36/41!

SA2:B competition is always appreciated! Welcome and have fun.

64
Hmm I've seen his vid before but I didn't notice that.. He's saving almost a second there over us! It's hard to see with the quality, but he enters the tower almost a second before us! And honestly, it's just one jump from rail to rail, it can't be that hard. And even better, it's right at the beginning!

Yes my FC1 sure is awesome <_< I still can't believe how every tube worked along! That's something you should never except when going into that stage!

so sub1:30 is easy for you, and you're going for 1:28, that's really awesome! That actually makes my 1:31 looks bad <_< But I hope you can get an awesome 1:28 (is that the max?) and even tape that run! I might go for sub1:30 with all the new tricks you're going to show us! Good luck Brian!

65
Lol can you please stop acting as if the 2:08 was that bad? <_< It's just 1.2 seconds off the record!
But honestly said, I think you're a bit over-confident there. I doubt even 2:07 will be that easy... I mean, when was the last time you played FR1 seriously? <_<

Quote
In 2008 you probably died trying to slide down the very first rail in sky rail(haha..over-exaggerating of course :P)
hehe no I didn't even get to Sky Rail, I couldn't get past the boarding section in City Escape at the beginning of the hero story!

66
Well, that could certainly be possible, but I just don't know if I have enough motivation to go for 2:06. That will most likely change should you break my record though! I think we can all say we are better now than we were in 2008, can't we?

And meh, had some big plan changes yesterday and didn't get to play for a minute. I won't have time to play today either... and I gotta work tomorrow (yes, even though it's Saturday <__<). Maybe I'll have some time on Sunday...

But I'm glad you decided to upload FR1 the next time! It's the best recorded run after all.

Hmm, good luck! ~~

68
It's not that he doesn't have faith in you, but it's more that we all know it's easy for us to get close to a record, but once you're only a few seconds away, it's all about optimization, and you can only optimize something you've really played a lot. :P

Oh this time, if someone of us gets 2:06, it will definitely be on tape. But M5 comes first!
And yeah about FC2, I think I now know how to pull it off more efficiently. Let's just say it involves using tghe trick you told me about at "a certain point". (Don't want to give away too much in case it doesn't work out the way I want it to..)

And no worries about me, M5 isn't stressing me out at all, I'm playing for an hour per day or so, and I've had many potential record breaking runs, and as soon as I can finish one of them it'll all be over.

69
And I'm sorry to say that yesterday was another day full of SA2:B shit, I just didn't do well...
Best I was able to record was a 46.43 and I absolutely refused to even save that run because I got hit by the flames! Second best recording was a 46.73 and that's over a second away from the record!

No, everything just sucked yesterday <_<
I lost the motivation to play after a bit more than an hour... Though I might get something good on cam today. No promises! <___<

EDIT: I haven't told anyone, but I've been secretly working on getting my special timesaver on FC2 to work more than just 1/1000 times, and I've made some progress. And seeing talon's 30.15 video showed me how to make it even more consistent! If done right, that cut might save 1-1.2 seconds, meaning if I can include that in a good run, I'll break PK's record and the sweep will be mine again!

70
Oh, I also feel like I'm younger than my physical age, so I guess I'll have more than 2 years..

Well, first of all, I'd really like to see that 2:08 run, even if it has its flaws (It's probably pretty similar to my 2:09.92 run, just without checkpoints and with a quality where you can actually SEE something <_<). Maybe you can upload it to rapidshare or sendspace so I can DL it quickly? That would be really nice!
And I remember exactly how hard we fought to get down to 2:07, so I'm actually quite surpised to see you saying 2:06 doesn't seem as hard anymore. After all, we estimated 2:06.8 as the complete max, didn't we? Or maybe you found another timesaver? I'm curious to know how you can see 2:06 being easy..?

And to be completely honest, yes, I would be quite upset should my record be broken. I always knew we woud sorta come back to FR1! But then again, that shouldn't stop you from going for it, because you can't expect your record to last forever either, and it's not like I'm going to give up then! I'll take it back even if it takes me another 4 years!! :P

This means a lot for me, Stefan is a very cool guy, and a great player too, I'm happy we could turn yourselves in what he said that time :D
Yeah, I feel the same way =D

Quote
I remember when I said to Paragod that one of my goals was to be one of the top 10 in times, now look where I am!
Yeah you climbed up the charts at an incredible speed! I just took a look at your times again and man I gotta say you did an excellent job there! I could never be bothered to TA any shooting mission except Lost Colony 1 (and even there I'm only average). But I have lots of time so should I once fail at a certain RA, I'm just gonna skip it and redo it later..

Quote
I really need to get a sub 2:10 there :/ I can't see you guys 6 seconds ahead and don't feel like this xD.
Good luck there! This may be quite difficult even for you!

72
Well I mainly said sub1:30 because we saved 8 seconds on Final Rush. And it's not really top secret (hence the <_<), it's just that I don't want to tell you it until I'm 100% sure that it works out.
And you should maybe consider playing CG1 once or twice a day (just a quick run through it) because I can get sub1:40 pretty much every 50th try or so. And you never know when I get an amazing run that will give me the record (maybe even with a high 1:38), so yeah...
But I'm not playing it that often, so who knows when (and if) that will ever happen.

73
hehe nice picture! And yeah, it definitely shouldn't always be in that order.

Paragod:
White Jungle
City Escape
Metal Harbor
Pyramid Cave
Green Hill
+ maybe a few records in non-speed stages?

Brian:
Green Forest
Radical Highway
+ definitely quite a few records in non-speed stages!

PoT:
Sky Rail
Final Chase
+ I've always wanted the Lost Colony record. But I'll attack that MUCH MUCH later

Final Rush and Crazy Gadget may change somewhere...

Well, it all depends on when the video was done. If it was done back in 2005, then it was probably really good. It all depends on the time..
Yes I need to get a hacking program to rename the level's names <_< Should that become possible soon, I'm gonna bring CE1 to sub1:30 <______< hahaha funny joke <_<
I think something like high 1:32 - low 1:34 would be good for me. It all depends though. Should I really have fun in WJ, I might go even lower..
Remember I used to hate Crazy Gadget, and look where I am now that I started having fun with it.
I'm also working on a new top secret (<_<) shortcut in CG, and should it work out, we'll both be racing for a 1:37 for sure!! Don't get you hopes up too high though >_> Whenever I say I'm working on a new shortcut the chances of it being possible are like 15%..

But for now, have fun with your trip!

74
Oh well, I was close. 5 AM, wtf are you doing at a time so early?

Yeah, no offense but 52 really isn't good <_< But no worries, Rush-Chase-Rail masta is going to give you a nice video this evening (hopefully)!! Maybe even a 44 one, but that's pretty unlikely. I never get so lucky <_<

Yeah me and Brian, I hope he soon gets back into the game! And people form the last generation are still here! yoshi, you, PK! and even SM is still finding new stuff! But generation alone isn't everything, you're more than just keeping up with us. I mean just look at your videos :D
And if it's true that you start being worse when hitting 20, then I've got a little bit more than 2 years to set some records where people will instantly give up!

Yeah nice one trying to trick me in! I'm definitely going to try myself at WJ now that I know a few more tricks, but I guess frustration awaits me, just like everytime you try something new at first.
I've also set myself a final goal in the times division! At least Top5 in every Sonic/Shadow level that doesn't suffer from GC disadvantage! Then I want to improve some of my scores (but not too much, I suck at score attacking anything that isn't Final Rush). If I get everything in orange in the scores I'll be happy. I started with some RA lately, slowly working my way up to the top. Most videos of RAs are down though, so it'll be a touch search.
And then bosses...bla bla bla too bad it doesn't save your time. I got some boss times written on a paper somewhere, but I don't thinkI should submit that. And the races.. yeah I suck bad at them, I doubt I will even try much there..

75
Yeah, isn't it like 3AM where you are now? <_<
Of course we enjoyed your videos, and I was 100% sure everybody would learn something new from them!

I also got somewhat good news: I can borrow the cam from my friend again, so I guess I'll be recording 1-2 hours of Sky Rail 5 today, though this time I set my goal at a recorded sub46 run. This time, I cannot guarantee to get a record on video, because yeah.. It's much harder.
But I'm positive I can get something good on video. There's no vid or SR5 last time I checked, and I feel I need to have something up there.

Because at the moment, the SR5 strat is pretty much well-known, but I think I should still make a vid if only for the "next generation" which seems to come every 3-4 years, just like Stefan said. That sentence of him really doesn't wanna get out of my head..!

76
WJ1 - This one stunned me completely. Granted, WJ is the only level I don't know perfectly yet, but you showed me SEVERAL tricks that were amazing due to either how hard they seemed to be, or how much time they saved!!! This one was just great! Can't say anything else here, really!

GF1 - Very clean run, and I like how you incorporated my new shortcut nicely! You lost quite a bit time at the end, but I have the right strat for you that is very easy: Use the superbounce and then a quick B+A. I was actually surprised you didn't do that, it's quite a bit faster and not hard to pull off at all! Can't wait for Brian's new cuts!

FR5 - This is the fastest run I've ever seen of FR5, so even if it wasn't really perfect, it was definitely nice to watch. Taught me some nice little cuts, too! But yeah, we'll go into anaziling the run/level later.

RH3 - This was also amazingly done. First loop skip was new to me, as I was never able to pull it off that well. Restarting at the check didn't matter much to me, as the overall quality of the vid didn't suffer at all! It was just beautiful. Though I was always of the impression that jumping to the boxes -> killing the robot -> taking the rocket was faster than using the pulley path. Guess I was wrong..?

CE3 - Not much to say here, I see pretty much no room for improvement here! Maybe I'm missing something small due to my n00bishness in CE, but this really looked (near) perfect!

And I've been reading the first few pages of the topic again and found something really nice:
Hopefully you guys make up a new generation of SA2 elite.

77
If you would excuse me, I can't post a proper reply until tomorrow at work because I'm in shock. I've seen WJ1 and FR5 and damn that was just...

78
To my knowledge, the right one is faster. I don't know by how much, I never really tested it.

79
I actually think that it doesn't matter AS much in M1. And I've had several record-breaking runs so far, but damn the megajump sure is hard to pull off. It even happens that I hesitate and don't press the A button at all at the end of the rail <_<

Cool! I should be here for the next two hours! But I wouldn't mind a wake-up special either :D
I'm looking forward to WJ1 and FR5 the most!!

80
Got that damn 217 rings <_<

And take a look at my new SR5 time! 0.22 behind Jawzun, awesome huh!? I easily lost over 0.5 seconds on the way, too! As I said, once I get a perfect run where everything works out, I can beat his time! Until then, it's just a matter of not giving up and not getting frustrated. I was able to do the Perfect Switch twice today, so I now know it's possible! I even see 44, but that would be as crazy as my M1 time!! <_<

EDIT: Had a potential 44.8, but the Perfect Switch didn't work out. It's for some reason much harder to pull off in Mission 5 >_>

EDIT: Record would have been mine by about 0.05 seconds had Shadow not been shot up the last hill. <_<
Oh well.. Perfect Switch is still nearly impossible to pull off... damn

EDIT: Official confirmation: The megajump on M5 has little to do with speed. Of course, you shouldn't be slow on the rail, but the most important factor is the time you jump. The nearer the edge of the rail, the further you jump. And you have to be DAMN near the edge to make it.
Which comes down to: Take the rail slightly slower (but still fast enough naturally) to have a better chance at the megajump, or go full speed and risk everything? Getting the feeling for full speed down is very difficult even for me. It mostly depends on luck. You have like 2-3 frames time to press the A button..

It's..not like me.... Not like me at all.... Who am I becoming? I am not even going to know who I am anymore if I don't stop..the checks...the checks! THE CHECKS!! Evil!! Stay away from me! I am slowing being possessed by the SA2B devil..checks...and even..the security hall 2 lives trick....How is this possible? How can someone.....go from.... 4-lives no checks on every run down to this...checks, multiple checks sometimes even!....and using more than the default 4 lives..... how..... could I be reduced to this..?....slowly, I am being possessed....and taken to...the....dark side of this game's competition techniques.....the one thing I always fought AGAINST....my determination..must be......slowly diminishing..for me to resort to.....such...cheap tricks to gain....time records......my determination......and skill......will never be......the same................

Official reply: I'm actually too lazy to point it all out, but you got several SA2:B (the most played game here, with the toughest competition) records recently. As I said, where luck plays an important role in a level, using a check is not forbidden, nor is it bad!
Unofficial reply: Checks or not, that's unimportant! Gotta show no mercy in a heat competition, isn't that what you said to me in a PM?

No hurry with the videos btw!
PS: That damn 217 rings in MH5 are actually giving me trouble <_<

City Escape M3: 1:06.80 (Restarted only once, at one checkpoint)

City Escape M2: 32.95 (No restarts!! yeah of course hehe)

Radical Highway M3: 59.97 (1 check used, restarted 16 or so times :/)

Final Rush M1: 2:08.52 (Had a few terrible looking spots :/)

Final Rush M5: 2:13.59 (didn't even watch this one yet.. I just saw it whilst fast forwarding)

White Jungle M1: 1:30.89 and 1:29.99 (Going to make a dual-run video for this as I said)

White Jungle M5: 1:41.20 (Yes I got this one on tape, forgot how many checks I used but quite a few I think.. I guess I should upload it anyway)

Metal Harbor M3 SS: 22.69 (Cool run to play and watch, can be improved!)

Okay now I DEFINITELY won't be sleeping until I see all these runs! Ohh, I can't wait!!

1:36:32, hmmm I guess you used the 35 checkpoint? You're right, you shouldn't submit it, you should go for a checkfree run in City Escape. Everything else is probably hurting your pride!

83
Bonus runs plus 2:08 in FR and 2:13 in FR5????? Well, good thing you didn't tell me that yesterday, because I definitely wouldn't have gotten ANY sleep would I have known that!!
I'd love to see these runs, of course you should upload them!!

You didn't even have to ask, how could I possibly turn such an offer down!??

Oh and did I mention that I love your sub1:30 on WJ1? AMAZINGLY DONE!!! Your new WJ5 time is awesome as well!!

84
Awesome!!
Going to bed in a few minutes Not too sure where in America you live, but odds are you can add around 6 hours to you time to find out mine., so I guess I'll have a nice time tomorrow morning at work!! I can't wait!
Oh, and check your PMs~~

85
Awesome, thank you CEM!

I'm not expecting a perfect run, I just need something to follow! And if you nail a sub1:30, then that'll be even more awesome. And, is it safe to assume that you're back into the game? The confirmation of that would make my day ^_^

86
Saw it, taking the TSC record in M2 shouldn't be too difficult I suppose?
Congrats on the M1 record, even if it is a close one!! Do I need to say WHO DA MASTA? =P

And yes, I'd really love to see a good vid of WJ if I'm not asking for too much with that, because there's NONE out there.

87
Final Chase is not City Escape, Paragod. I read in one of your youtube comments that you brought 90% of the luck factor in that stage down to skill. You can't expect to do that in Final Chase (yet). No one has played FC as much as you have played CE, and no one found a 100% consistent trick for the tubes. If you do everything right (speed, angle, jump height) when touching a tube, I'd say that you have around a slightly over 50% chance of the tube playing along. There's around 7 vertical tubes (the horizontal ones don't give me any trouble), so the chance of getting every tube right in the same run is around 1%.

Checkpoints 0:38 and 1:32 don't lose you too much time, so I would even recommend using them, even if it goes against your nature. I never went into Final Chase expecting a run in one life. While the perfect run I had did depend on skill naturally, I just got that lucky 1% chance that all tubes played along nicely. My M3 run was almost of the same quality, but I'm pretty sure it's impossible to get the last tube to the Chao done perfectly, hence why I see sub2:30.

I don't know too much about White Jungle, I suck at it (1:38), and I'm still waiting for a good video. You didn't record any of your runs by chance? And once you get the M1 record as well, you should go for a sweep! AMAZING NEW TIMES BTW! =D

Well it's quite clear that MH1 is one of the hardest records left to get! I haven't watched the 1:11 run in quite a while, but I'm sure that it is not completely perfect. Then again, I haven't touched a DC controller in years, so I don't know how difficult it is to adapt to it.

Sky Rail 5 isn't that hard to take, but I just need to wait for a perfect run. Strangely, I've played the level over 100 times today and never got a Perfect Switch! There's no reason for it not to work, but yeah.. <_< And the mega jump is halfway possible as I said in my comment, if you have full speed, you can make it to the 45° edge of the higher platform. A quick homing attack after that and you're back on the way. The homing attack loses you around 0.3 seconds. I'm not sure if with a Perfect Switch, the Awesome jump will get you to the platform without the need of a homing attack. I hope so though, it would make things much easier for me. But yeah, I have to the get Perfect Switch done first. <__<

88
Now look who's been playing again! And even a 2:28 in Final Chase! I'd bet that you are going to beat yoshi with your next attempt! Awesome times, and the times you are potentially seeing are even more awesome!!
So a 4/5 chanceat the spring, huh? I'm gonna give that a try later on, I'm sure it's not that hard to figure out (though I have never noticed that tapping A while swinging makes you swing with mroe force..

So 35/41 (37/41)! I should definitely start working on Sky Rail 5..
And Metal Harbor 1 is still far away. But there's still hope, didn'tyou get 1:13 on DC with a "bad" run!?

89
I wouldn't call it disappointing! Just..slightly slower. And the quality is amazing, too!

Well, getting one record makes up for all the BS for me, but I guess that's not the case for you..
I guess you should always only play for 5-10 minutes. Within that short time, you can't get enought BS out of the game to get you in rage, and there's always the chance to smash a record :P

I haven't read what talon said, and I don't wanna doubt him, but 25.07 after a few minutes? I don't know.. I just don't know....!

90
Yeah I honestly didn't notice him.. my bad. But you can't blame me, I'm only looking at the top spot :D

Jawzun has made a big mistake with that, yeah. His run is actually on youtube, but he put in together with one of his 2P vids. Go to his channel and search his videos with the keyword "bonus". It should pop out instantly.

And it doesn't matter if it's just a short amount of time. There's been enough cases where playing after 10 minutes got someone the record (and yes, I'm mainly looking at you, Para) :P
