That's slightly disturbing, Chao_Fan.

But at least you voted.

If you start competing in SADX, I'll be glad to help out.

Any attempt to quantify intelligence is fundamentally meaningless for a stew of fundamentalisms, mostly stemming from the myopic definition of 'intelligence'- myopic, almost paradoxically, for the try's bloated nature. Intelligence tests only provide lumpy, instantaneous assessments on abilities with a low ceiling-once you hit that 800 math on the SAT's, are you as good at math as everyone else who scored an 800? Even the math savant who can instantly calculate triple digit factorials (no semantics, nobody can do this)? Are you "smarter" than this same idiot savant who you outscore on the verbal section by a considerable margin? Or maybe you scored poorly because you didn't sleep the night before. And, what about the brilliant musician-how do we consider his intelligence? "Intelligence" has become a meaningless term, these tests try to read compartmentalized faculties that are intrinsically blended. The best method of determining how "smart" someone is is no real meter at all.

Anyways, I'd bet a Vegas ice bath that he inflates the score he received. Relatedly, from which test is this taken?

I agree with your statement, or at least some part of it. I believe that aptitude can not be properly measured by a single test, as it is almost inevitable that the questions will require knowledge that you may or may not possess, which is unrelated to your ability to reason in general.

However, I do believe that IQ tests can give an accurate approximation of one's intelligence.

So, that's why I've decided to give intervals of IQ scores, since the ones I recieved (even though I took numerous tests, and found the average of the scores) could have been inaccurate.

So, at the end of the voting, I'll give the correct approximate interval, or voting choice.

If you think the score I give at the closing to be "inflated", I'll direct you to the results of the tests I took.

Wow I walked into that.

You tend to do that, but you usually evade the brick, right?

What a pun, GS.

Actually, that's quite interesting. Gives me some ideas...

Perhaps I've said too much.

Awefully well. I like that.

RESULTS:

I noticed the topic was dying out, so everyone, here are the results!

My average IQ score from tests I've taken is about 135. The lowest score I ever recieved was 123, and my average scores are in the upper 130's. I just took another today, and the results were as follows:

Auriman1 posted about two IQ tests he took, and his scores were 130 and 118, respectively. He provided the URLs, and I chose the latter (and presumably more difficult test). On this test my score was 138.

...

I can provide the some score pages if you wish, but that's about it!

I just hate multiple posting, and it CAN'T go unchecked.

Sorry for the bluntness of that correction.

PoT, double posting is bad. Triple posting is... quite noobish really.
May I direct you to the "modify" button?

Most bosses come easily to me (but I'm not the best at getting them finished quickly, compared to my regular speedruns). But I recall dying 50+ times in a row on one of the Genesis titles.

I believe I was referred from YouTube. I'm not quite sure, but I started competing here shortly after I uploaded a few speedruns of Emerald Coast to my channel. I think I remember someone suggesting this place after seeing my SA skills.

You know what? I'm re-getting GENS to try out that spindash technique, to see if I don't actually suck...

Anyone know where to get GENS+?

Welcome to TSC! It's actually a huge relief to have a new member who uses proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

I've been in meddling in music composition, but needless to say, I'm not the greatest...

I hope you enjoy your stay here at TSC, and perhaps you might try out competition!

I agree with you that the people here are awesome (most of them anyway), but you should try competing!

I'm sure there are some, but a lot of people probably only use 1 key.
Like me.
Maybe that's why I'm bad at the 2d games.

Woahwaitbackup.  Isn't A on Speed Highway 2:30?  Yeah, 2:17 I believe.  It depends on the definition of a "shortcut".  I wouldn't necessarily call certain parts of the At Dawn segment shortcuts; neither would I the light dash platform before the heli.

He can't even tell me the route that he used. Trust me, he's not of a skill level sufficient to get even 3:00 with only a few shortcuts (even though he didn't use any anyway).

My foul flans --er, plans-- are ruined every time.

But I'm not much of a RAer

SCORES AND RINGS SHOULD BE REMOVED OR HALVED.
Off topic post is off topic and made of fail.  Seriously, there's a front-paged poll on this, what the hell purpose did that post serve?

I just wanted to see if you'd come back and win this topic.

Would bosses remain the same value on the charts though? I suppose it's time-attacking, but I hate them and it's my worst area in SA. What say you guys?

Don't mind what I said before. Count them for half, because they generally require less skill in the game. Justification for what I said:
I have 40 or so score records in Rush Adventure but I struggle to acheive yellow times. Essentially, my scores aren't worth much because I SUCK.

A friend of mine, Crazy1993 recently submitted a 1:17 in Sonic's Speed Highway. This wouldn't normally be cause for speculation, except for these things:
1. He isn't the best SA speedrunner.
2. He claims to have done his run on a PC using a keyboard.
3. He also says he did not use any shortcuts.
4. He didn't have any version of the game at the time he supposedly got the stat.
5. I know him well, and he is clearly making this up.
He later tried to revoke his claim by saying he "misread" it, that he actually got 2:17, but the other problems persist.
Remember, it's not really possible to sub 2:30 (or with his skill, 3:00 or 4:00) without shortcuts.
