I was finally watching the opening CG movie for Sonic Riders on my sister's computer (had to wait for a day she wouldn't be home, as she's a brat) and, when Jet spoke, it sounded a HELL of alot like Ryan Drummond. Did Sega like, bring him back or something?

I know, he did sound like Ryan. Well, I suppose 4Kids is going ultra-thrifty again... (in a bad way...) *sigh*

Yes, I agree that they almost sounded the same. Regardless, always be thankful that there IS voice acting, even though it sucks.

Actually, Jason Griffiths is the voice actor for Jet the Hawk. When Jet says "Huh, not bad" it sounds too much like Sonic, which is obviously a mistake on Jason's part but when he talks a minute after, his voice is what it should be. That alone should tell you that it's the same man who does Sonic and Shadow.

At first, I was complaining about how the 4Kids actors do the games now.
I still don't like it, but it's not as bad if Sonic sounds like he did before.
(But are you sure? I read somewhere that Robotnik in Sonic X sounds like he did in SA,
but I can hear a big difference. Also, he's usually more annoying in Sonic X.)

About Jet sounding like Sonic, it must be like when Robotnik sounded weird in Sonic Adventure.
(After Amy gets through the Hot Shelter, he says, "Where do you think you're going, Amy?",
and he doesn't sound very much like himself until he says "going".)

The only voice that's really bothered me in Riders is Robotnik. He has way too much upwards variation in his voice; he sounds borderline squeaky on occasion. Others probably would be annoying, but luckily you don't hear anyone very often except the obligatory annoying announcer. (the words even have the same root!)

I personally find Jet's VA to be quite annoying (asides from the announcer). On the bright side, at least there's nothing as hideous sounding as "Find the computer room."

Actually, I checked GameFAQs. According to the credits info, Ryan is supposedly back, but he's supposedly playing as Sonic, while Jason Griffith plays as Jet. Hmm...

Ryan Drummond as "voice of Sonic" and Jason Griffith as "Sonic"!

GameFAQs isn't the most reliable source of information. Ryan Drummond is gone.
