Oh, and you are aware that this is the US Sonic CD, right? If you already noticed I said that,
CONGRATULATIONS! You have good taste in music, and you're someone who doesn't complain
about that version. :D (I don't doubt that the Japanese one has good music,
but there probably isn't as much of a difference as some people seem to think.)

Wait a minute... is Sonic CD that great? It's a little slower, and... no, wait... it has a Time Attack and stuff.
But then, I remember Chaotix being fast and fun, and having cool special stages.

The Jap soundtrack to SCD is MASSIVLY different

^Props go to the Japanese soundtrack for being so upbeat, but I think that the US tracks still get the job done. They just set a different mood to the levels, e.g. Collision Chaos has a much lighter mood in the Japanese version.

Also IMO I'd put Chaotix music in 2nd, below Sonic CD (either one). I might just be sick of the Genesis music from hearing it for so long. And the keyboards in the Chaotix Sound Test were a nice perk.

Chaotix Music is great! Not all of the songs are up to par with the others but overall it's a good game soundtrack. Personally, I'd put it above the US Sonic CD music, but as you guys said, the JPN is different so my opinion could change after hearing it...

I know it's very different. What I meant by "difference" was that I don't expect that
the Japanese soundtrack will be way better. If it is, it must be the best-sounding Sonic game ever.

It has the same past music as US, right? And does it also have some jingles from SA (invincibility and speed shoes)?

Chaotix's music is good, but I don't think it can beat Sonic 2. Speed of Sound is great, though.

The music in the Past for every level is the same. This from the man who introduced me to Galbadia Hotel. Go listen to both.

It's interesting that your ears deceived you, even though you don't know what the US version sounds like.
Also, make that, "due to its supposed inferiority". Again, I haven't heard the Japanese soundtrack yet,
but I already know that the US version is up to Sonic standards, whether it's slightly inferior or not.

Also RPG last I checked I actually sent you the US Sonic CD Present tracks, and you liked the Quartz Quadrant one at the least. Don't make me dig into my MSN logs.
