Gaming and Grazing / puzzle game - Dot Riddle
« on: March 26, 2008, 10:24:02 pm »
Me and some friends made a riddle game similar to notpron called Dot Riddle, with some new features (you can save your progress, registration with very few information asked and a trial to see the first levels). Hope you guys enjoy!

I have to stand for S1 here. And not only about sdj's times/scores. If we assuming sdj BS stats, I call attenttion to smizzla too, since he's taking the same path sdj took (posting a big amount of incredibly difficult stats in a matter of 1 or 2 days).

No, no. Those are the scores for killing the boss only (no time and no enemy bonus included). I also find that strange, but everything I tested so far gave me 6k on SH3 boss.

not really sure why... I'm still doing some tests, but I didn't find anything different from the scores I already posted.

the boss-level scores I put here don't have the points you gain when you actually kill the boss. Should I add those points?

...and, if it's a yes, the score list for each boss as far as I know (MS version):

UG3 - 5000
SH3 - 6000
AL3 - 5000
GH3 - 5000
GM3 - 5000
SE3 - 5000
CE3 - 20000

I agree. And since the MS version shows the time untill the end, a time attack ranking can be included.

the master system version has timer in all boss levels (it disappears only when the the fight ends). We could use this version for level-3 time attacks.

News and Updates / Re: Where are we, where are we going?

What we have here at Sonic Center is a neat idea that created a really great site. A site like that claims attention, and that quality brings a lot of people to here. Among them, interesting guys who want to keep sonic games' competition in a high level. But among them, we will also have those newbies that only want to annoy everyone else. Big and competent sites like this one will always be annoyed by those types, there's no other way, but we can't give up offering a good competition (and everything else) just because of them.

I can't describe my happiness when I found The Sonic Center four years ago. It was like my wish of a competition site has become true. I know that I won't help much with this, but I thought that was a good occasion to say what I think about this place.

Prepare yourself, SS is a real pain in the ass...

Amazing discovery Sky.

Sorry I'm late to explain this, I was gone for a while...
Do you know the glitch used to obtain the fastest time in CC1? With the speed boot on, you can pass through some walls as well. I used that to get unrechable rings (most of them inside walls) on PP2.

As for the other levels, keep trying, cause I found some secret spots to caught that much rings. I'm pretty sure I didn't catch all rings in SS1, but I really don't like this level and my actual run is good enough for me. What I can assure here is that I didn't use time warp or any other feature in those runs. If you want a more detailed explanation for each level, I can give it, no problem at all.

That's quite amazing too! Now you got 3 isolated score records on Labirinth, that's really something.

You guys could make an official topic to discuss who should be on the hall of fame.

Good idea magnum. Also people who worked to make the site better (with videos and guides) should be considered.

You guys could make a voting like the one in the awards, or the admins could come with the players after an internal discussion.

I was thinking about a different session in our site beyond the prominent members: The TSC hall of fame. It could have a voting to select some pros and/or important members. After that, the admins would create a small bio explaning why that member is important and what he did in the games and in the site itself, with a photo of them. It's something like The Elite hall of fame. http://the-elite.net/thehall

That ring quantity is weird to me too. I achieved that long time ago, and since I couldn't do any new tricks in SL3 I didn't make real efforts to raise it the normal way.

Well, I'm going to Sonic 1 for some more tries...

In SB1, using the screen wrap you'll get 297 rings, but for the 307-run you'll have to make something apparently impossible at the northeast tunnel of this level.
Good luck. You'll need.

Can somebody give a hint for SL3? :)

Competition Central / About TSC awards 2006
« on: February 23, 2007, 08:02:03 pm »
I enjoyed very much this iniciative, hope I can play well for 2007 awards too...

Since I got some trouble with my connection and couldn't send my votes, I'll at least say something about my area here.

For me, 2D player of the the year is stanski. His skills at Sonic 2 are really impressive, with amazing strategies, in a game that I'm just a rookie at the time. Aitamen was also memorable in some points like the perfect run at Green Hill zone in Sonic 1 and many others. Eredani brought to us some good steps in Sonic 1 and 3. Autough I'm not much familiar with Sonic Advance, I know by other players that Quartz made an excelent work there. SprintGod, one of the greatest members that I played against directly, made insane discoveries in Sonic CD where everybody thought nothing could be done. Congratulations to all these pros!

Hope we keep up this great competition.
