Yea, regarding X6, the clock stops when you enter the boss' lair, that's why I edited the rule. The Mavericks don't have to be defeated, you just have to exit the level via their lair (Not the Nightmare's alternative lair).

I don't know about X5 though.

Regarding the New Game+ and weapon training, it doesn't need to be stated.

Zero 1 is counted in the S-Rank rules, it's just not under S-Rank. Just as long as it's there, it's fine, but yes, rules need editing, thanx.

You are able to record ROMs via VBA (Virtual Boy Advance). Open VBA, then the ROM. Go to Tools > Record > Start movie recording.... Then play until you wish the video to end. When you want it to end, do the same procedure, but click Stop movie recording....

For the NES and SNES, I' not too familiar with those types of emulators.

Also, Rick, just because we are the administrators/mods, doesn't mean that you shouldn't look for potential competition, we need all the help we can get.

EDIT: Also SJ, just look around any MegaMan sites. Even SDA might be interested. You have the most free time out of all of us. :/

I have a new job and school which takes priority. I tried to get Rockman Perfect Memories and the admin said she wasn't interested. At least I attempted though.

If it's NTSC only, then it'll only be MegaMan.

Rolken is main administrator and founder of TSC (what it is now)
SM is the old main administrator and founder of SA-Elite (what TSC was)
Sprint is just a general pwner and old admin.
mike is a forum admin and is now adding/editing new categories on TSC.
F-Man makes skins.
RPG is admin of TUSC.
I am admin of TMMC.

To be a Prominent Member, you just have to stick around a long time, get acquinted (competitively and socially) and lend a helping hand you get a chance.

The only games I would play is Mario Party, but then again, I don't want to hate it since I do play that on occasion with friends, so I dunno...

Another problem is that it's really only YOU that want the MGC. Only you and Marth are really showing interest. Many of these games won't be competed in at all, I can assure you. I know it's difficult to gather members, but if you want it to work you have to. Even people just from TSC probably won't be enough. I'm having that problem with TMMC, it's only us four. but I'm going to try branching out and maybe form affiliations. You should do that too with dedicated Mario fans (and SpongeBob if you are dead serious about adding that game). I think I might speak for all of TSC, as concurring with saying that the main reasons for being skeptical and hesitant about adding MGC is the all around games (no core game), no one really interested accept yourself, TSC degradation. I think I can guareentee that SpongeBob and The Bible Game will NEVER be hosted at TSC. Please revise the list again, and find more dedicated/ decent people. Many people from GameFAQs really don't fit that description at all. :/

ROMs are fine, every rule about playability is the same as TSC's. Just no save states or using cheating devices/programs.

ROCK Challenges / Re: Rock Challenge Series 1: Buster Only Pwnage
« on: May 04, 2007, 02:20:13 pm »
Yea, it would have to be ROM games only, just like the Emerald challenges at TSC. That way, the movie files will be very small in memory, easy access, everyone can do it and it's just more efficient. I was going to make a suggestions topic like when more people came and set some guidelines and such, but didn't have much time to. This challenge is basically my "MegaMan EXtreme Mode", or in other words, the "Bare X Challege" (no subs, hearts, special weapon usages [unless your path is impassible other wise], etc.)

And yea, we should hold this off until more people come and we all talk about setting guidelines, prizes and the such.

Dark Necrobat added, I don't know how I forgot him. :/

It's not enough to just add it as a Level, you need to go through Rank Items, then Rank Charts and finally Rank Links, only after Rank Links will a level be functionable.

The Definition of Reasonable Doubt

I can't stress enough how much "power" a person has in their submissions. Just about anything can be submitted in the database and will come up in the New Stats Feed page, now does that mean flood with bs stats? No. Why? Because we will KNOW you are BSing and delete the stat, force you to prove it (only under serious circumstances) and/or ban you from competition. Submissions are a privilege and may be revoked at anytime with good reason.

Now, this ties into what it means to have reasonable doubt. It is not and I repeat, it is not "omg, it's too hard for me and it's impossible to get this time, because I win and if I don't win, it's obviously wrong!!~1" If you are going to use that accusation, just stop right now, and press the backspace twice, matter in fact, press Alt+F4. :/ Please provide reason in your accusation. If you feel uncomfortable sharing why something is seemingly impossible (for what ever reason, ie; I don't like giving strats) then drop a PM to an Administrator/ Moderator and we will decide the outcome. Please leave all MegaMan matters, with MegaMan Center Admins/ Moderators.

To sum up:

1. "OMG, I can't get the time, so it's impossible" IS NOT A REASONABLE DOUBT CLAIM.
2. Cheating may, and probably will get your submissions privilege revoked.
3. Administrators' decisions are final, further discussions may occur however.
4. Please respect all members, don't be an asshole to someone, if you don't want someone to be an asshole to you.

Thank you and enjoy! :D

I was thinking Rockman Perfect Memories and SJ said that Atomic Fire is reputable (I think, heh). Eventually I'm going to talk to them, but it's rather disrespectful to just barge in and say, "Hey, join this site and let's team up".

Yea, in order to make everything finalized, we need the power to delete charts and things. Xtreme 1 needs to go, Game Completion levels need to go and there are duplicates around, that need to be eradicated. I'll talk to Rolk eventually and he'll probably give me the power or he'll do it when he has the time [blame Diamond and Pearl X)].

For some reason, I don't see this actually going to be implemented, especially if it's Sonic based. Everyone has their areas of expertise and to have a SA2B, S2, STT, SR, etc tournament would always go in the directions of the top competitors of that game, virtually giving no chance to anyone else wanting to have a fair competition. I mean seriously, me vs. SS in SA2B, no chance in hell. me vs. mike, S2, no chance in hell. Or to exclude me, SJ (I guess anyone fits here >_>) vs. Sprint S2GG, no way in hell. Unless you like plan to make it where the standings are pretty identical, like SJ vs. eredani, Heroes.

Ok, forums are now up~

Yea, some games need some work on a bit more. I'm still thinking about deleting Xtreme all together as the system of very faulty. Zero's Ultimate Mode and some general clean up needs to be attended to

Yea, that vid sounds like an awesome idea, I'm really bad with the keyboard though and I don't have any equipment for making vids on the TV. :/ I'll try to think of something though.

Yea, advertising on other websites seems  to be a problem is it's well, advertisement, and everyone hate that. It drags people to new sites and perhaps, sometimes migrates them for good (GameFAQs to TSC ftw). That's probably going to be the real problem with that. I do know of one community I used to go to, Rockman Perfect Memories, they actually had a small competition going on, but it was like either one or two people. :/ I might try asking over there as they seemed liked a cool bunch, but i think I'll just get modded, especially since I haven't been active in like three or four months. :x

Rockman Perfect Memories: rockmanpm.com
Atomic Fire: atomic-fire.com

EDIT: Also, I have an idea. I was wondering about affiliations. If reputable websites agree to check us out, perhaps we can become affliates with them. That way, we all get promotion and it becomes easier for MegaMan fans to find both the informational sites, fan sites and heavy competition sites. That way, it can be win-win. What do you guys think?

I don't think anyone is going to compete in Spongebob Squarepants, seriously. That's pretty degrading to TSC.

"New Champion: sonicam is now champion of Spongebob Squarepants! Congratulations!!" o_o

The main problem with a lot of those games is that no one would play them, and if they do, by some weird reason have them, they don't play them for competition. They probably only play them for fun, or if they enjoyed the movie/series, or what ever. I'm almost positive you won't have more than 2 players (including you) for Spongebob, Barnyard, etc.

I am very firm against the use of Ultimate X and Black Zero. All you have to do is spam the Ultimate Strike (for Zero, he's just so much more godly) and you win. There is absolutely no skill involved at all. There's not stage planning, there's not jump planning, there's not Special Weapon use planning, there's nothing but you and the Z button (or whatever Giga Attack is set to). The only thing you'll have to worry about is Giga Attacking into spikes, I mean seriously.

Dark Chips, I'm not too familiar with. They are rather game breaking as I think Dark Sword does like 500 damage and it acts as a Life Sword, just not a PA. I say I'm against them, but I don't know much about the Dark Chip using Battle Network games.

Glitches, though, is fair game.

Also, it's not the fact that it makes it too easy, it takes away the skill involved in playing. You're pretty much proving nothing if you are just spamming Z. I mean, you're invulnerable, you have infinite, you move faster (I think it's the same sped as having a Speedster equipped) and it does massive damage (stfu Gerbil >_>). It's more than game breaking, heh. :x

Wait, I don't understand what you're talking about magnum, you are banning all glitches? TSC doesn't do that, I don't see why we should. Well, it obviously depends on the glitch, but if it's like fake walls, or something like that, it should be fair game.

Yea, I think we should condense it as I doubt that a lot of those forums are going to have much activiting, namily Legends. How about just a General MegaMan forum (Dr. Light's Lounge or something, or The Flutter [if you've played the Legends games]), Leaderboard Disputes is fine (or perhaps Dr. Wily's Chamber of Accusations or something fancy like that), Competition Central is fine. Everything else is cool.

EDIT: Also, add MegaMan Challenges anyway just so it's there and when we finally do decide on something, we can just jump into it. (Rock Challenges, or something is a feasible name without sounding too gimmicky)

I'm not very familiar with BN5, but what ever Navi is strongest AND you are able to fight multiple times. If Omega Navis in BN5 are the same as the Omega Navis in BN3 (you only fight them once to obtain their V4 chips), then no.

TMMC News / Re: Welcome to the MegaMan Center~

Yea, only V3 Navis. Yea, it's a problem for the ghost Navis, but just have to deal with it. :/ When you want to TA a boss and find it, just use LockEnemy SubChip, Save the game and then fight to your hearts content.

For the Times Division, you are fighting the V3 Navis.
For the Extra Division, you are fighting the Navis in the Secret Net's Time Trials, where you have to use your Extra Folder.

For MegaMan X5+6, Xtreme mode has more enemies and I think bosses have more HPs. As for Game Completion, it can be radically different to require all Mavericks and to jump straight to the final stages. It can incorporate different strategies in order take on the Zero Virus levels with the bare essentials, and maybe a special weapon or two. There are a lot of combinations in an Any% completion. but yea, there might be some redundancy, hmm....

For MegaMan Zero series, yea, that's why I don't think it should be competed in, if anything, maybe just a Freestyle, but Freestyle sucks. :x

For Game Completion, yea, but not for MMBN. Most bosses in MMBN will take seconds, but the game itself can take hours, heh, I guess that alone means it should be scraped.

TMMC News / Welcome to the MegaMan Center~
« on: April 15, 2007, 03:47:32 pm »
The long awaited MegaMan Center has arived (ok, long awaited by SJ, magnum and I...). A few games are up, one or more from each series. At the moment, there is contemplation about MegaMan X5-6, Xtreme series, the Zero series and the addition of the Level "Game Completion". Concerns are as follows:

MegaMan X5 and X6: Should there be a split between X and Zero? Should we mandate all Mavericks defeated, allow any number defeated, or have respective levels for the two for the Level "Game Completion"? Should Normal and Xtreme difficulty modes be split?

MegaMan Xtreme series: The Xtreme series, at the moment, has a screwy compeitition. In order to submit a time, you'd have to have a file ready and record the current time on the save file. Then, play a stage and complete it. Save again and record your new time. Subtracting the two would result in your time for that stage. This is very time consuming, annoying and unreliable as your recording is very error prone (you aren't shown centi/milli-seconds). We are still contemplating on what to do about this. MegaMan Xtreme 2 Boss Attack is up though.

MegaMan Zero series: The problems with the MegaMan Zero series is the abuse of Cyber Elves, "Weapon Training" and Ultimate Mode. Cyber Elves are at the moment banned from competition as they prove as an extreme advantage. Weapon Training is in the same boat. Theoretically, you are allowed to train your weapons after you clear the Opening Stage, before going on to the next mission. One would be able to train the weapon all the way up to the max level, having a clear advantage over any other competitor who just went onto the next mission without training. Just think about it, having a fully leveled Saber against the Aztec Falcon, complete pwnage. Should this be a legit tactic? As for Ultimate Mode, IMO, it's useless as it's just a Very Easy Mode. It's the same as Normal Mode, but you have all Sub Tanks, Max HPs, and IIRC, fully upgraded Weapons. Is there really a use?

Game Completion: This level is under speculation since it's a one time thing, especially with the MegaMan Battle Network series, which can take hours and hours to clear. I've grown to be a little bit against due to the burden of requiring to erase our games and do this trial. Any suggestions?

Please adhere to concerns and refrain from submitting to levels/divisions that are under speculation. Anything else is fair game!

Um, sure, I don't mind helping, I only have 1, 3 and 5 though. I don't think Proximity should go anywhere since IIRC, it's just press A when the timer is close to 0 seconds, there's a definite max in times and we scrap that (Bridge 2 of S1GG/MS).

Add Super Mario Bros. DX to that list as there's a Challenge Mode that just screams competition (you'll see Scores up on N64HS website).

As for two exits, use the fastest one.

How would Super Mario Bros. 2 work? Neither games (All Stars, the original, nor SMA) track times nor coins. SMA tracks scores, but it's all cumulative and there are infinite enemies.

Wario Land 3 has a built in Time Attack Mode that you can unlock. You have to obtain all 4 colored keys in the stage and then rush to an exit. Your times are very conveniently shown. :o

Um, I think O_o sums this topic up.

Well, I like the Mario Party idea though as that's the only series I play out of that entire looooooooong list. Well, Times=Times, Coins=Rings, Proximity should go, Distance=Scores (just a score with a decimal value), Scores=Scores. Most of the coin charts are going to be rather random (that minigame in MP3's raft game comes to mind) and some are easily maxed (MP1's Whack A Plant comes to mind). It'd be really interesting though. :o

I disagree with that. We already made charts for MMZ, we said that one would be Time Attacking (any Rank) and other would be S-Ranking (TAing but you must have an S Rank/ 95-100 points total since MMZ2 uses an averaging system). Since in order to get an S-Rank, just about all objectives would have to be done to get the full 20 Mission Objective points. All in all:

Time Attack: Rush through the stage as fast as possible, only concern is defeating the boss/ getting Mission Complete.
S-Rank: Abide to Mission Objectives, don't get hit a lot, no Elves, etc.

EDIT: Heh, ok, I just saw SJ's new post. :x Yes, I agree with him.

Well, spindash off the check.

Yea, I have problems TAing as well, well, mainly due to the fact that I can't really get any levels well. 2D, 3D are all a like, I can perhaps red a level, but never get records. Even with vids and trying to the best of my ability. Eh, some people just have a nack for these things.
