If it's in january, I 100% can't unless I flunk out of my program at college (sorry guys, no). I might be able to do late december, but I have no idea what my money will look like then.

General Sonic / Re: When did you start playing Sonic?
« on: December 29, 2008, 08:28:26 pm »
Much like Shadow Jacky, my first time playing Sonic was in a kiosk at a store. I think it was some manner of music/CD/movie store, and it would have been in the Flint area. It was Sonic 1 and I was about 4 or 4 and a half. I just loved it and pestered mom to get me a "Sonic..." but she got an NES instead. :( I picked up the Sonic comics when I was seven and I was so obsessed that mom got me a Genesis with Sonic 2 and Columns, for Christmas and got me Sonic 1 for my birthday the next day. :) I stayed with Sonic games until I was about 12, when I couldn't find the comic anymore, and played on and off until I was about 16...

...When I was 18, I got a Gamecube and Pokemon Colosseum for Christmas and Pokemon Box for my birthday. The following June, after I graduated, I asked my mom if I could get a player's choice/discount game for my Cube as a self-graduation present, since I didn't get to go do something after graduation like my classmates. She said yes. I chose SA2. The rest, as they say, is history.

General Sonic / Re: Hardest Sonic Final Boss.
« on: December 21, 2008, 08:30:34 pm »
Egg emperor's really easy to beat and all you would have to do is level up your flight character to level 2 and murder him with thundershoot until he's dead while dodging his attacks. I would say all Sonic 2 final boss is really hard for me because I can never beat Eggman in his giant machine.

I have trouble with Egg Emperor becuase the particular placement and degree of my astigmatism makes it difficult for me to see his attacks when running. I have serious trouble with edge detection when saturation and value are the same, and the attack is the same brightneess and intensity as the stuff around it, just the attack is yellow/green and the platform is gray.

OMG ANOTHER GIRL YAAAAAAAAAY.

Don't worry, SK. I WAS around for the old games, and I STILL like the 3D games more. Mostly because I'm a crazy English major.

Welcome. :D

While there are a lot of bosses I simply can't beat, I reserve my deep hatred for Egg Emperor. The ONLY Sonic Boss I can't beat without my glasses but can (barely) beat with them.

Although if I ever get that damn seventh chaos emerald, Metal Madness may join the ranks.

I though of some more ideas. The Black Beast of Aaaaagggghhh! represented by either Black Bull (The Black Bull of Aaaaagggghhh!) or that whale that seems to hate Sonic (The Land Whale of Aaaaagggghhh!).

Black Bull, please. That thing is so dang hard. @_@ Part of why I'm going through every story path EVER starting with the hero ones is so that I'll eventually exhaust every possible story path with that bleeper and never have to think about it again.

I guess if I'm listed for Silver I shall have to practice my trying-to-sound-like-a-guy. :( I"m not very good at it, despite having a deep voice.

I could see this Donna person attacking me, chibi-style with a ball-bal, screaming "LEAVE MY BISHI-SQUISHI ALONE!!!!!!!"...

and yes, I am more disturbed than we formerly thought...  but RPG is still worse because of his thoughts on babies, roller coasters, handguns, alcohol, and semi-trucks >_>

My crazy reaction to that picture has to do with my maternal instinct prettymuch owning the rest of me. I have this insatiable need to care for the defenseless and go AWWWWWU at cute things... and so when I see cute things hurting I like have to take care of them. And Sonic is frigging adorable, especially in what I've seen of Unleashed's cutscenes. And it's like "aww poor widdle hedgehog i make you soup and tell you bedtime stowy" than anything. I do the same thing at the end of SA2 when Shadow falls, and when Eggman is trapped in the closet room in Heroes.

But yeah, when I'm not being all "ZOMG POOR SONIC NEEDS MOMMY," the other thought that tends to come to mind is one I'm a bit ashamed of too. Doesn't stop me from giggling like a fiend.

And balls. Don't forget the balls.

Also is Donna a furry :( Or does she just like defenseless animals. THIS IS A QUESTION THAT MUST BE ANSWERED.

Both. Well, kind of. I'm not one of those creepy yiffy furries, I just like stories about anthropomorphic animals. And think Knuckles is kinda hot due to his more human proportions. And have a small crush on Sonic due to him being everything I ever ever ever wanted to be ever since I was just little and being the only thing that got me through my bully-riddled, family problem addled childhood (And you think I'm bad, you should see my boyfriend's not-so-secret crush on Michael Knight). But the above image has has to do with my love of cute widdle defenseless things. Widdle baby aminals! <3333 Or... widdle teenage aminals. STILL CUTE. OMG.

Bon Jovi ftfw, give me my props.

*gives you enough props you could put on a play*

I'm actually kind of embarassed. You see, since Sonic is such a strong character, I find his rare moments of weaknes fascinating. I mean both emotional weakness, like his emo during the dark endings of Shadow, and physical weakness, like his apparent issues with the werehog transformation in Unleashed, and the moment in 2k6 in which Mephiles gives love a bad name. (Props to anyone who gets that). Plus, sonic is just so adorable that seeing a picture where he's hurting makes me want to scoop him up and huggle him and give him a cookie.

Kyoot fuzzy aminals need mama donna to take cawe of dem :3 <3 :3 */dead from the vulnerable!cute*

The only bad thing about Disgaea is that you are forced to grind stages over and over again to level up to be able to beat the bosses, or so Ive found so far with it

I play Pokemon. Level grinding was a high school extracurricular for me. :p

I feel sorry for you dood. Your parents need to accept that there's nothing wrong with a girl liking guy stuff. If you REALLY want to toy with their heads, I suggest getting into WH40k (Orks as they're the most macho faction ever) or some other really macho/nerdy hobby. For the DS, you can't go wrong with Disgaea (though its not for everyone) and its wacky game play (complete with fighting inside a world contained in a piece of cotton candy), acid tongued/snarky humor complete with ultimate zombies (don't ask), and irresistably cute Prinnies (winged penguins that blow up when you throw them) dood.

My parents are actually fine about it! My mom's actually a biker, and works at a hardware store and everything. It's my extended family (grandparents, cousins) on my mom's side and my dad's whole side. Luckily I have a cluster of little cousins, mostly male, who play Pokemon with me, and I think their input is part of why the purses I keep on getting from their mother are the perfect size for Nintendo handhelds. Unfortunately, my parents are out of state, so I'm left to the mercy of the extended family.

I'll look into Disgaea once I get all the stuff on my "wishlist". Thanks for the rec!

Full 07 support? Then I'll have to look into it for my upcoming fieldwork semester.

I don't concern myself with this stuff all that much because I never end up doing a lot of power points, and MS Word 03 stuff can be opened in 07, and 07 can open in 03 if you aren't an idiot when you save it. But with that news I'll have to check it out over break.  Thanks. :D

And you're an English major?  SOMETHING DOESN'T COMPUTE

But I spent my formative years writing crappy mary sue fanfiction on Microsoft Word. And took classes on it. And open office likes to glitch out and not save things properly on my computer for some reason. And then there's compatibility worries now that my university has gone over to Office 2007, which ruins everything and is made of epic fail and keeps me from helping my friends with papers.

The thing about being an English major is you have to worry about compatibility/convenience. When you live on campus at a school that has Microsoft-serve on its nose, if you don't use MS Office, you're kinda out of luck with everything. :(

(Yes, I'm aware that open office supposedly does everything. In my experience, it doesn't do it as well as I need it to.)

lol.

"You know what they say, the more the merrier!"

* Emerl shot
That's false! We get members here that sign on for 1 day and never are seen again. Even a few months and never again.
So what do you say about that?

But.. that's just what they say. Just because they say it, doesn't mean it's true. :p Saying that people say it when they do say it but it's not true doesn't invalidate the statement. it's just that people say something that happens to be false, but they still say it. OMG I sound like Bridge from Power Rangers SPD, or Mojo Jojo from the PPG. LOL.

Thanks for the warm welcome, lol. :P

As for what I'm getting... I am hoping to get World Tour. So what I've done is, I've taken matters partially into my own hands and bought myself a Wii Points card. So I'll be getting myself Mega Man 9 :D and some GHWT downloadable content with the rest. (For the record: Smashing Pumpkins. Nirvana. The Eagles. Fucking yes.)

I am also hoping to get a new wallet and a new watch, both of which I can guarantee I will have lost by March.

I hope you get it! Also with the watch and wallet. And I feel you, I don't know how I mangaed to hold onto my wallet as long as I have... and I don't know where my watch is. (Haven't lost a purse yet though! Goodness knows I have enough of them, what with my family trying to stepford me).

Auriman made a totally awesome archiving workbook for practically everything on TSC, so you could check that out.

Long-sentence hyperlinking ftw.

Ooh. I love spreadsheets... but lacking excell, I have to use Works Spreadsheet, which doesn't get along with xls. And I hate open office. :( Still, I'll look into it.

It's not as bad as it used to be, back when I was single. Still, they'd never get me anything I really want, like a replacement for my broken SA2 disc. :(

Wow donna made it welcome to TSC.

Thanks Bertin! Yeah, I was procrastinating regarding my exam for today last night and I was like "Hmm... tsc... high scores? EM peeps? win?" And the competition actually pushed me to improve two of my old records just today. :3 I'm down to 8 seconds on Egg Breaker Iron Jungle! That HURT. >.>

But thanks for the warm welcome. :3
