Lesson One:
TIERS
ARE FOR
QUEERS

People play whatever games they're good at or they enjoy. We have our own sort of ranking, and if you don't like it, well then you just have to deal with it.

Triple Post:

So after some hacking with me and Kirby, we have found out that there is a file within the .nds file that stores the location within a .rg file for each act (bosses included). It seems that the latter half of the file has X/Y locations of the rings. I haven't learned much of it, perhaps Kirby can elaborate a little after this.

But yeah.
Tl;dr: One step closer to Full maps, and Possibly a Level Editor.

Not sure. I've only used what was posted up on Retro and just produced it. I'm trying to understand How the games are structured, but it's pretty damn hard. >_>

« on: December 18, 2010, 01:19:00 am »
I shit you not.

However please note, that these maps are split into two parts, a foreground and background style maps. If anyone wishes to combine these, be my guest. And also note that these maps have no spikes, badniks, rings, trick rings, or any 3D sections.

Sonic Rush Archive
Sonic Rush Adventure Archive
Sonic Colours DS Archive

These archives may be empty at time of posting, but they are filling up. Time Attack maps and Hidden Island maps are not done yet, and as such, will not be uploaded.

Enjoy!

Uh..I guess do enough to get by next year unscathed and hold on to my current relationship.
TSC-wise i'd say take another championship, but that's getting less likely.

« on: December 02, 2010, 02:31:36 am »
Max scores in SRA's sequal, who did not see this coming.

Not all the stages are screwed, The ones with time bonuses in them arent, since the time bonus stages usually have you ending up with a larger time than what you started with.

I'm going to do this so we have a way to know who has used this method and submitted in the future.

3rd Cruizer 1'22"27

On an unrelated tangent can we axe boss scores from? It's going to end up being identical to the Times division with the added inconvenience that if you happen to beat your PR time for the boss in story mode it is technically invalid for submission and thus you'll need to go and try and beat your story mode time in time attack and henry freeman move like braves to combines

If someone can edit my post, yes.

261
^read the last post on the previous page >_>

^The moment charts go up, you may assumetheposition That it is common knowledge.

Just on that note about the spoiler, would it be trackable in normal score charts?

INSURGENCY

Quote from: RPG
The only reason I can think of to disallow it would be to keep consistency across all divisions but other than that there's no real reason to. Also it's a pain to unlock

Actually, it's less hard to unlock than the last wave cyclone in SRA so you can get really fast times against Johnny.

Personally i don't mind whether or not Infinite boost is allowed or disallowed. It just seemed like disabling it would be something TSC would want to do. (Having infinite boost on would affect rings, scores and Terminal Velocity times

News and Updates / Re: Sonic Colors Charts Impending, Possible Race
« on: November 20, 2010, 05:11:10 am »
Aita: Essentially, It's a toned down version of Rivals, just with attacks that get you whereever you are. They also don't save any times, so that's just another nail in its coffin. While it may be trackable, it'll just be too much of a hassle to have on the charts, due to long, boring and essentially trollworthy angst. See SRA Extra for further reference.

267
New Rule Addition for DS:

Infinite Boost must be disabled.

Me not so sure about this though.

Couple of things to point out:

 - No point in tracking Boss score AND time, it will end up as a duplicate chart because time bonus is 99% of the score.

Just to note with the time bonus, there aren't thresholds like there were in SRA and Rush. The two measure differences, as slight as they may be; Outright Time, and Time+Rings.
Quote from: RPG
- No point in tracking Mission rings; 1/3 of them have a hard cap of 200 rings, 1/3 of them are exactly the same as a regular level from the zone and the other 1/3 have a time limit that's too strict to do anything except to finish the objective.
Obviously. That's why they aren't in the charts i've put up.

Quote from: RPG
- No point in tracking Mission Times and Scores; Score is derived entirely from your time remaining, the game saves your high score, makes much more sense to use the stat the game manually saves for you. - I am an idiot and thought Extra was Mission Times and not VS CPU because I read this right after I woke up - DONT CHART VS CPU FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MR ADMINS
Again, We are only tracking scores since they save. And yeah, i'm starting to lean against VS charts, since Times don't save, and that one could be an idiot and use actual multi-player vs.

Okay, because the pseudo code sucks, and that i've finished the game, i'm putting forward the following charts:

Contains spoilers. Proceed at your own will!

Times:
Tropical Resort 1
Tropical Resort 2

Nega-Mother Wisp

To safely note about divisions, anything without "(Mission)" Is Sonic, else the division is Mission. I opted to use scores for the mission, since it saves the score in game. As stated above, Time over must be enabled, so rings and scores are to be allowed with this provision. Times are to be obtained in Time Attack mode. I have also not included VS charts in this post, due to the uncertainty of them. If they are to be tracked, they will go in their own category as follows.

Extra:
Tropical Resort 1
Tropical Resort 2
Tropical Resort 3
Sweet Mountain 1
Sweet Mountain 2
Sweet Mountain 3
Starlight Carnival 1
Starlight Carnival 2
Starlight Carnival 3
Planet Wisp 1
Planet Wisp 2
Planet Wisp 3
Aquarium Park 1
Aquarium Park 2
Aquarium Park 3
Asteroid Coaster 1
Asteroid Coaster 2

EDIT: Yeah, screw the VS Charts.
