Surely some of the downturn has to do with a lack of new Sonic games in the last year. The only new games out in the past 365 days are Riders: 0G (barely any activity) and Chronicles (not appropriate for charts). Also Sonic Rivals 2 just over a year ago, but also not likely to have much activity. So, going back further last year Sonic Rush Adventure is the newest game with significant activity, and it's over a year and a half since Secret Rings.

I think it's just a wax and wane cycle. Activity should certainly rise once Unleashed is out, and then there's Black Knight early next year. We'll probably be as busy as ever.

also I thought sonic and tails have the same hitbox in sonic 2.

So did I until recently. Easy way of seeing this is in Emerald Hill 2. On the first platform with the spring, Sonic will run into all 3 rings, but Tails runs under 1 of them.

perfection is something like :24 GH1 or :14 GH2...  granted, they're a little less precise than the newer games, but that's not to say that there's much better to have...

I wouldn't call :14 GHZ2 perfect. :13 is definitely possible, just brain-clawingly ridiculously hard.

Most of the malls aren't that bad a jog, the most known one being Great Lakes Crossing. Really it depends on where SJ and/or AD would be coming from too so we might want to talk about that.

I would be in the Detroit area that time of year, and I concur about Great Lakes Crossing, if not just for the GameWorks there. Haven't been there in YEARS, but it's rediculawesome.

is it because the screen shifted at the end before the boss fight?  otherwise it doesn't make sense why you couldn't just get it before :/

Doesn't look to have anything to do with that... I just tried to spindash from the end of the moving platform, and was able to grab the ring from there without getting to the scroll. Looks like it's just something obvious everyone forgot to try!
