"I really think there should be more than just half sonic and sega, why not get other characters from more SEGA games? Such as Kid Chameleon (That was in the Sega Smash Pack i believe), or Virtua Fighter (I could see Akira or Jacky getting a spot), there's other awesome SEGA characters that should have been included. You know? Or other characters from other popular sega games back in the Dreamcast era that were great. I hope NiGHTs makes it in too. He was in Superstar Tennis so why not this?

Yeah a Sonic R sequel or Sonic Drift 2 sequel should make it out. But I'm more lean on Sonic R sequel, if this happens to be just like Mario Kart for the wii, maybe it won't be so bad. Diddy Kong Racing wasn't bad either. Crash Team Racing as well."
Very good idea but just in case that does not work out because i doubt they remember about those games, they should keep making sonic games. sonic 06 WAS NOT BAD STOP TALKING ABOUT IT! *my opinion* Sonic 06 good sonic unleashed not bad sonic and the black night very fun.But compared to the fan favorites sa1 and 2 they are all bad except 06. why 06? Best gameplay in a while no guns, nice graphics, brings back the best gameplay of the old and new characters [a.k.a. tails knuckles blaze silver] and good story line never played secret rings, and sonic is EPIC AGAIN! But I don't like the music. His world sucked ESPECIALLY the crush 40 version. And who gives a crap about the glitches? ask darkspinessonic his favorite was sa2b UNTIL 06 CAME OUT!But my favorite sonic game will always be sadx.

LOL this guy is a hoot!

> Slide off the roof of the house using genus as a makeshift "shingle board."

"Wheeee!!!" you scream, as the shingles go fwipfwipfwipfwip under genus's body, as you slide down the roof. You go into a two-story freefall over the edge, until you and genus hit the ground with a thud. genus's neck is broken from the fall.

The authorities don't care that everybody at the convention claims that they are better off without genus. In no time flat you're found guilty of murder and sent to a Utah prison.

The problem with ST is that they are under the assumption that complexity = depth, and it most certainly does not. In fact, that's what I decided to do my final thesis on for game design, the difference (and relationship) between depth and complexity. I would explain it a little bit...but I don't feel like it right now >_>

Lynx (hi PPA) from Chrono Cross. Not only is he the visage of Serge's childhood terror, he swaps bodies with him, stabs Kid while in Serge's body and has Porre invade the archipelago. Then, to add insult to injury, you find out that Lynx is Serge's dad transformed into Serge's worst nightmare (well phobia, but I can't find a snazzy word for it at 4AM). Too bad the fight with him as Fate is easy if you were able to steal a Black Plate form Black Dragon. :/

Chrono Cross is a fantastic game...but Lynx was meh imho. Even though he was barely fleshed out, I preferred Dario. Something about him just struck a chord with me.

Yeah but he didn't have any personality when he was alive either. Fangirls think "mysterious" and "bishy" are valid personality traits but they're not. He's vaguely tortured but that's it.

Also I loled when I saw Kefka's final form and realised just how much Sephiroth ripped the whole thing off (not to mention the near cut-and-paste plot of the whole game).

I'm derailing the thread, so, uh, hey, you know who else is a great villain?

DAMON MOTHERFUCKING GANT THAT'S WHO.

Seriously, out of all the villains in all the Ace Attorney games, he scared me most. Even more than fucking Von Karma. That fucking stare...

Crowbar wins. Gant was a fucking douche.  A few of my personal favorites include (but are not limited to, and in no order)

Zelgius (Fire Emblem Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn)
- He's not really a "villain" villain. I'm not sure what he is, which is why I find his character so appealing.  He's just some random, seemingly cliche'd knight...and then you learn about his character and find out that there is a lot more under the surface.
Kane (Shining Force)
- He's just fucking cool, that's all there is to it
Richter (Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World)
- He's also cool, but it's how he flips from good to bad that makes him interesting.
The SA-X (Metroid Fusion)
- This thing is just scary, and Fusion has a great atmosphere that the SA-X really works well in

and uh...that's all I can think of at the moment, but there are more.  I'll get to the "why" later too.

Art of lame Sonic characters is lame >_>

98
And yet Sonic 1 and 2's comparatively linear and and simpler levels don't get stale? Hm...I guess that just doesn't make sense to me.

99
Why does the length of the levels matter? A single S3K Act is well-designed and more varied than an entire zone in any of the other Genesis Sonic games.

I want to do well with Galaxy's music. s Quartz has inferred it is the best song in MM9. Each song should be around 2:30-3:00

Wily 1 is clearly the best song in MM9 >_>

I walked to the music store the other day to buy a capo. I looked around a bit to see what else they were selling, and the markup was ridiculous. A triangle cost $30, miracas were $20, and small plastic shells filled with beads ran $10. The cost of material and labor can't possibly approach what they charge...plus, most of these 'instruments' have awful timbre or aren't complex enough where anything other than tonality matters.  There's so much scamming going on with peddling musical paraphernalia that the industry sidesteps by claiming that anything quality is expensive to create (though...they really aren't). I grumbled a bit about supporting corporate greed before settling on some picks and an economical $2 capo. But this wasn't what I meant to talk about.

I'll always remember what happened on my way home from the store. I took a shortcut through a valley between two streets, and heard a moaning noise. Then I noticed two people making out behind a tree. I couldn't see them on my way into the valley, but suddenly I was walking towards them for a decidedly awkward encounter. The guy had his eyes open, staring right at me while tonguing the girl for a slightly suggestive scene. I flashed him a thumbs up. He gave me a sign to hang loose. It made a pretty good story. I have another story about kissing, but I don't think flyby would find it entertaining.

I have a family friendly anecdote about fencing, though. We were dueling today, swapping from partner to partner, and I got into it. Swords are fun to play with, and anybody who tells you otherwise doesn't understand the concept of 'fun', or perhaps only appreciates the idea intellectually without any deeper understanding. You should take pity on them, but assertively repel their impositions on your own enjoyment. Ok? Ok.

We were dueling in fencing, and I was enjoying myself. I get kind of into it; swords are still fun. So I get into it, and as a leftie basically anything I try will connect. Really, most of these swordfights were five-second exchanges where I'd push their sword out of the way and stab through to the stomach. Most people are confused by mirrors.

Actually, more context is necessary than this. Light taps from the foil usually hurt, and I really whip that blade. During accuracy drills, I poked a hole through the foam padding on the gym wall. That's pretty thick protection...a solid few inches. Usually when I hit a person, they need to take a few seconds to get over the sting. With rotating partners, everybody expects that the same thing will happen to them.

Anyways, I'd gone through a few opponents and came up against a girl known for her pronounced sensitivity. Everything you do with her is the most significant thing to ever happen in her life, and she gets upset very easily. She'd been watching me take people out and make them crumple in pain for a long while. We were supposed to fence each other, and she freaked out when we started. She backed away panicked, jerky foot then to foot then to pavement. I didn't even advance, and she told me I scared her. I decided that I would be nice to her as a gesture of good will; clearly she was uncomfortable with fighting me, and a jab to the stomach would ruin her day. The teacher wasn't looking, so I told her we could just pretend that we went at it and I made contact. Then, as she was walking towards the center, she smashed my hand with the hilt of the rapier. Seriously, what the hell? Next time, I'm aiming for her kidney.

Genus, meet women (not that I'm insinuating that you have not had other experiences with women).

That reminds me of when my ex-girlfriend and I used to wrestle (yeah, sounds mismatched, but wrestling with your girlfriend is great fun).  So I would basically grab hold of her wrists and just keep her from doing anything, at which point she would say "Ow, you're hurting me," even though I was barely holding onto her.  So I would let her go, and then she would take the chance to jump on top of me and attempt to hold me down.  Now she's not very heavy, so if I really tried I probably could have tossed her off (she actually got pretty good after awhile, and it took some doing to get her off), but honestly, what straight guy is going to push off a girl who is laying all over him? Certainly not I.

Explanation plz?

For a straight person to be called the most sexual is just plain wrong...
Sexual orientation is completely uncorrelated to a person being sexually minded.
"most sexual" refers to the latter, not the former, and of all the people on the forum Alondite seems to be the most likely to be thinking about sex at any given time. Your arguement makes no logical sense.

Indeed. Why I'm even thinking about sex right now!

I think there are a lot more fans of SADX and SA2B, and the new Sonics games than the older Sonics like Sonic 1 2 3, 3&K, etc.., that games are not too good in my opinion.

Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and Sonic Heroes has the more competitors here in TSC. :P

So...the better old Sonics games are S1 and S2? =O

Popularity =/= quality.  The reason that those games have more competitors is because the older games are practically maxed, or at least with current strategies. Also, because there are an abundance of people like you here who probably started with the newer games, and the newer generation.  Unfotunately, the definition of a "good" game in the newer generations is far more lenient than what it was in the past.  People forgive inexcusble flaws in modern games, like terrible camera work and poor collision, to name a few of the laundry list of flaws in many modern games, Sonic in particular.

I'm wrong? Numerous long-time Sonic fans and gaming publications tend to disagree.  You may like them, and that's fine, but that doesn't not change the fact that they are flawed, and not in ways that are easily forgivable. And the older games suck? Oh would I love to see you try to logically discuss your way out of that one...

Typoing has nothing to do with grammatical errors   genus. Why? Well, a typo is a mistake that you did not mean to make, where grammatical errors are often done without the typist knowing thathe/she is making a mistake. The typist simply does not have a strong grasp on[n] what is considered "correct grammar."

A typo is a typographical error, which is defined as "an error in printed or typewritten matter resulting from striking the improper key of a keyboard[glow],[/glow] from mechanical failure, or the like."  Quite simply, it's an accident.  Grammatical errors are done intentionally, not knowing that they are errors, and that makes them quite different.

Also if you are toying with the idea,I know there are numerous grammatical errors in this very post, but I don't care (because it's just a forum post) so don't bother to point them out.

Why is your definition correct? I would argue that labeling a typo something so simple as a simple keystroke is myopic enough to exclude several mistakes without a label. Typos aren't merely errors conscious to their author; what if the writer thinks 'everywhere' is spelled 'everywere' and spells the former? That's still a typo. I apply this same principal to grammatical errors: the mistake you make is still a mistake whether you know it or not. Establishing your frame of reference as conventional standard English, you would be accountable for these grammatical errors. Or typos. This this is a typo, even thought I think that it makes sense to repeat the word 'this'. So that sentence is, even though I'm confusing the words 'that' and 'this'. You're splitting hairs into fourths. If you came up with a less verbose term for grammatical typos than 'grammatical errors', I would recognize the difference. Until then, they're the same thing!

Though it's too late for me to avoid pointing out your typos.

Because it's not my definition.  It's what the dictionary defines as a typo.

Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Sonic Heroes, Sonic Unleashed: 10!

lol, its my opinion...

Ugh...you people need to stop going crazy over these crappy newer Sonic games.  Maybe if you stop buying them ST will actually have to make a good one...though that will never happen :(

PLEASE tell me you've played more than those 3 games...

AS for me...ugh..dunno. I'll give it a shot

Sonic 1
Best: Final Zone
Worst: umm...Labyrinth or maybe Marble

Sonic 2
Best: Metropolis?
Worst: Oil Ocean

Sonic 3
Best: hmmm, tough.  Final Battle was great, but so is Hyrdocity...
Worst: I didn't much care for Launch Base as much as the others

S&K
Best: Flying Battery is great.  I liked Sky Sanctuary too.
Worst: Sandopolis

Sonic CD
Can't decide

None of the others really have memorable soundtracks so...
