Competition Central / Perfect scores and rings
« on: March 24, 2006, 12:17:02 am »
double...

Does anyone have the ring count for each zone/act in S2?  Further, does anyone know how many free rings there are?

I don't want to miss any when I'm setting up my maps ^_^

Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik...

planet mobius has the best info on him so far, IMNSHO... if you haven't checked them out (such as not knowing who Ray is), I reccomend them... it's a good show of what "official" stuff for him is

further, do we count the comics, or the games?

General Sonic / Chao's Future?
« on: March 23, 2006, 02:44:11 pm »
I enjoyed the Chao, but I don't think the console-form was as good as others... I think that the DC cards had it best, as something you can do for Sonic-related stuff while you're at school (I like Advance, but I'm not really an N fan)

I liked it... a little tedius sometimes, but always fun

General Sonic / Yuji Naka set to leave SEGA?
« on: March 23, 2006, 02:37:35 pm »
Yuji is someone who starts a lot of debates, but I, for one, (having heard his interviews/speaches) think that he does deserve a lot more credit than he gets... he has an ideal, and he sticks to it...

besides, he gets nearly-full credit for the design and form for Sonic 2

General Sonic / Any Sonic the hedgehog high score
« on: March 23, 2006, 02:33:31 pm »
The current full-game, special stage, 5LL Sonic 2 score is 4.4m for sonic, and 6.6m for Knux, I believe...

I know I am close as hell to both of them ^_^

Competition Central / The Top Ten Sonic players in TSC's history!

Mad Props to everyone here, especially those who took this little competition.  I've tried to entice people both at school and other sonic boards to come join our ranks and start posting their best scores, so perhaps there might be some more competition soon!

I'm surprised there aren't more strats and talk about paths and the like here on the board, though... it'll be interesting to see what I come up against, now that I've got in here and started pushing myself harder.

Competition Central / Perfect scores and rings

Wow... that's going to be harsh.  I was drawing up maps today, and I think I can chain 10 in EHZ1, and I was hoping that put me over the 10k mark... sadness.

Oh well, I'll work on it tonight and see if I can get any more than that... the glide trajectory and my sense of spacing are both kinda sketchy, so perhaps more ARE possible.

I'll post a map of what I manage to do, and see if anyone can improve upon it?

[edit] oh, and with the combo intervals that high, I think a perfect score is either 95800 or 96700

Improvement!  95800

there's one fish, one coconut, and one bee that might be worth an extra k, but I don't see it... and then there's the extra k for time, if you manage to do it under 5m...

theoretical perfect score - 99500

What about EHZ2?

I recently made a 90k knux point run for EHZ1 (I think that's the right abbr.), and I was wondering if it's possible to do better.  Glide Combos are the way to rack up points outside of getting a perfect, and I'm not bad at them, but I was wondering what the max is, looking at it in a flawless sense...

From what I can tell, 95800 is a perfect score, but I could be wrong.  What are the combo-points, for example, above 5?  I know it's 100-200-500-1000-1000, but I don't know beyond there (since I don't think about it, I just do it).

Anyone have any analysis to share?

[edit] also, does anyone have the total number of rings in each stage, ignoring possibility and safety?  Et al, what it takes to get the "perfect" bonus at the end of the level?

Nevermind, problem solved.  My ring score for knux in sonic 2 still isn't up, but the rest are...

I posted them last night, though, and they're just showing up now... I checked them about 20 mins ago and they weren't there...

I have the 67 for Knux in rings, and I just resubmitted... let's see...

I have the same problem... I can't post anything.  If I add stuff to the bars and send it in, they don't show up on the verification screen... what's wrong?

That's what I'm saying.  I think that if we, as a whole, were to send in tapes, it would be easier to put in a lot of records.  Further, you can EASILY pick up the bounties for some of the records, and pick up a few bucks from all the stuff that you do anyway

Why the lost love?  I see them all as just different challenges.  For them it's the ability to play the entire game at once, pure speed, or pure points... for this, it's perfection of each act individually, and each seperation of each act...

so why the discontentment?

I've been working on a lot of these records for a while, and I've recently checked the TG website for scores.  Lo and Behold that the scores (for S2, in this case) are horribly low.

Qustion is: Does anyone here ever intend to set full WRs at Twingalaxies?
