I won't use it in competitive battles so I figured WHY NOT
Titting around in Driftveil now, squad has changed a little!
Caught a Zubat and he became my 6th. Swapped Koffing out for a certain thing from Driftveil Zorua.
All of my Pogeys are in the 26-28 range, and I'm exploring out to the West of Driftveil before I go kick Clay's ass.
Also this game is good.

Ultimate Flash is pretty decent for a flash game but it's also only like 10 minutes long, if that
Worth a look for the hack night if the plan is still 4-5 games though

Just thought I'd chime in to point out that if you already have 10 rules, you're probably over-complicating the whole thing~
No one wants to have to check a massive page of rules and clarifications just to make sure they aren't doing something wrong in fun (TM) event
Edit: additionally, it's a bit gimpy to state "choose any 3 games you want for this" but then have goals that actually force you to play X game.
For example, Column 2 straight up forces you to play SADX, Sonic 2 and Advance 3.

My thoughts on these 5:
1) Sonic 3D: No Flickies
2) Sonic The One Ring
3) Sonic 1 Alt
4) Sonic 2 Heroes/Sonic Classic Heroes
5) Sonic 2 Scret Rings Control
1) Interesting, without the flickies you can just run right to the end. So it should be short (and fun) which is pretty ideal if hax nyt is going to have multiple games.
2) No. Scouring a level for a single ring over and over is the exact opposite of short and fun.
3) No idea, if the level design is fair it could be entertaining. Worth playing beforehand to find out.
4) Don't see the point of this one, as the addition of flying/gliding/elemental shields isn't really going to make all that much difference to the speedrun routes.
5) Maybe worth a look? The idea that you get faster the more points you earn could place a higher emphasis on skillful play and mean that mixing up the routes a bit to earn more points works out better overall.
I'll have a look at the other games mentioned and post my thoughts on those in a bit.

Not to pick fault but you sort of need at least a basic prototype of your game before anyone can even comment on whether or not its worth playing

The only Generation mod thats even viable is Classic Sonic Adventures, and even that has DUBIOUS things
ie
- you are basically shit out of luck without classic sonics homing attack, though the levels CAN be beaten without them
- a bunch of the classic levels with modern sonic in them crash if you do certain things, also planet wisp is incompletable

Possible with short goals/hacks!
Certain hacks/fangames are pretty meaty though (like megamix) and probably wouldnt be ideal
Id totes race in hack/fangame night though

If you got it, flaunt it. There is no reason that "oh guys please dont use this glitch that I cant do" is a valid argument to ban a strategy.
I may actually race in this one, because I haven't played Generations in a while and it's hella fun. I can't do the speed glitch either, I tried for a solid half an hour and didn't even get anything close to it once, but I'm not going to whine that it exists; there's no way I will win so it doesn't matter to me in the slightest.
Also as mentioned on most levels it doesn't even really save all that much time, if you try to do it and fuck it up, what now?
tl;dr d-d-d-d-deal with it
also my vote is for4/5 as I dont mind whether skills are allowed or not and it doesnt really take that much longer than option 1. option 1 because I'm a numpty and failed at reading.

I had a pretty decent first run of Normal-Ironman Mode, got myself a Colonel, a Major, a Captain, couple of Lieutenants. Decent headway into the tech, solid battle tactics, AND THEN I GOT A TERROR SITE WITH TWO CYBERDISCS AND EIGHT CHRYSALLIDS. ENTIRE SQUAD DEAD. TOO SAD TO CONTINUE WITH THAT SAVEFILE. #X-COM

So basically what you're saying is, you'd like the ability for people to be able to go "no lol I don't want to be tracked on 24/7 for this race".
Which will realistically be every race where a person might lose points. The entire concept of being able to do that that makes this already redundant system even more redundant. Additionally it also adds additional work for SDM (not that he's here to do any anyway!) in that he'd have to manually check who opted out of being ranked because they might lose.
Bad idea/10

I was under the impression that the whole point of the ranking card that it was to be used universally for all games?
If it's supposed to be a separate card for every single game then what is even the point.
Mind you it's not like SDM is here to read my horrible/contentless/snickering posts as he went AWOL after designing this frankly unnecessary and complicated system to be tacked onto something that was supposed to be a "turn up and have fun" style event.

Not to pick fault with the idea (because it's a good one and I enjoyed running it myself), but requiring a youtube video may exclude a fair few people who would otherwise enter. Recording, editing and uploading can be a big hassle to have to do for something "fun"!
