Competition Central / ITT Possible Actual Names for Rush Bosses
« on: January 06, 2006, 12:11:16 am »
Now this can hardly be considered confirmed (for it is from the people who can't play and all), but they claim to have actual boss names for Rush that kinda make sense, sorta.

Translating them into something generally readable (and correct as far as levels), as well as my comments on validity:

Leaf Storm Boss = Egg Hammer Mega (Makes sense; Egg Hammertank (II) from Advance 1 and 2. Though mega is really lol.)
Water Palace Boss = Egg Turtle (Looks kinda like a turtle... sorta.)
Mirage Road Boss = Egg Scarab (Based on appearance, this is likely correct.)
Night Carnival Boss = Egg Libra (It pretty much is a scale. All I can really say.)
Huge Crisis Boss = Egg Hammer Fortress (I'm not as sure about the fortress part, even though it uses the battleship for launching the cannons. However, it is awfully close to Hammer Mega, so still logical.)
Altitude Limit Boss = Egg Eagle (Somewhat what I thought when I first saw it, considering Egg Hawk is already taken by that atrocity in Heroes. Yes, I said atrocity.)
Dead Line Boss = Blaze/Sonic (As if this wasn't blatantly obvious. Also randomly this is a fun fight.)
Unknown = Egg King (I almost just say WTF here, but meh. I'm pro this staying Unknown.)
Exception = Egg Salamander (I haven't seen it yet, so I can't comment. However, see Unknown anyways.)

Leaderboard Disputes / attn: ironboy
« on: January 03, 2006, 10:37:23 pm »
Um, do you think you can explain this? I just played the level on every life I had. You can't get a gun until about 6-7 seconds into the level, and it's a pistol, which is horribly weak. Can you explain then why it's possible to beat the whole level in 10 seconds?

Beef / Updates Page
« on: December 19, 2005, 04:06:39 pm »
For some reason, the updates page (and all of its subcategories) is not displaying the latest update. For example, at this time, the latest record is:
New Record: sonichero got 1:22:88 on SD2 / Times / Death Egg (Blue)

Whereas on the updates page itself, it's:
New Record: Psyknux got 234 on SA2(B) / Rings / Wild Canyon (Mission 5)

This is the same in every other category (I know last night Rolk posted something about mike's pwnage in S1/2/3&K, which also isn't on the updates page).

Remedy?

Information Kiosk / You know what we need?
« on: December 03, 2005, 11:50:12 am »
You know, we should throw a pinned topic in Leaderboard Disputes that tells what kinds of issues have already come up and have been verified (because ones that are cheats have obviously been taken care of).

Yeah, the "suspicious" topic in there right new sparked me here, because I actually remember at least hearing about the SA2B/SO dispute a while back.

Competition Central / Shadow the Hedgehog Rankings Suggestion
« on: November 17, 2005, 10:30:30 pm »
So, after playing the Shadow the Hedgehog for a couple hours (and getting pissed at Mad Matrix), I've decided to give a suggestion for the ShTH chart:

I'd probably go with the Time/Bosses/Scores/Rings Division theory here.

Then veer off into levels obviously.

The 3 level divisions would be Dark, Normal, and Hero, as defined by the missions.

So a new record would go something like:
New Record: Spinballwizard got 16:xx:xx on ShTH / Times / Glyphic Canyon / Hero

And yes, it took me 16 minutes.

I also think that Normal will be a lot easier to TA at the moment, only because it just involves getting to the Goal Ring and not finding stuff, though I've only played four levels, and I only know the ones we currently have via the Shadow site.

EDIT: It appears some zones will lack Hero/Dark divisions. I don't have a full list of them yet, but I'm pretty sure they're all the border zones on the ShTH in-game level map. Lost Impact is one of them.

Information Kiosk / Er, S3K Ring/Score Question
« on: November 08, 2005, 08:53:00 pm »
No, really, I do. Just for the heck of it.

Let's say, for example, that the falling signpost leaves a super ring powerup at the end of an act. Am I allowed to open that once the next act begins? (Essentially beginning that act with 10 rings) Or do I have to open it during the act it appeared? (This, of course, does obey the max 1 hit of the signpost while in midair. I'm mainly asking, because if you defeat the MH1 boss at its normal "chopping" position, one appears.)

EDIT: Also is collecting large rings legal in the score division as it is in the Ring division provided all emeralds have been collected and super/hyper forms aren't used?

General Sonic / Sonic Virtual TCG based on TAing? :o
« on: September 05, 2005, 08:05:49 pm »
So I've had these plans to create a virtual TCG for a while. Anyways, I got a random idea to make one based on TAing. Random, yes. Might I be able to get it to work? Possibly. :o

The game's tentative name will be "Sonic Time Attack," and will be based on time attacking a zone (trying to get through the zone as fast as possible). You will build a zone for an opponent's character to run through, and the opponent will do the same for you. He could add enemies or obstacles to your zone (and vice versa), but you can add rings or power-ups to the zone he's making for you. I'm not sure how things will go from there. That's what I'm looking for help on.

I currently have these card types: Zone Area, Zone Prop, Enemy, Obstacle, Ring, Power-Up.

This will most likely be done via message board, most likely InvisionFree since I'm a cheapskate who's trying to pay for college with a not-that-well-paying part-time job.

If you're interested in helping, PM me with your TCG experience and some good reasons why you'd be willing to help. Any other general questions can be asked here. I'll try to answer them as best I can.

Well, I'm sure most of you (or at least those who are coming to this topic) have seen this:

And if you haven't... *shrug*

Anything MtG-related in here. Yeah.

Let's not forget Ye Olde Carde Creatione Site :O

General Sonic / Sonic Rush
« on: July 07, 2005, 04:23:57 pm »
I don't know if anyone's seen the video, but I'm thinking I need to get a DS. Rush looks INSANE. That appears to be an advanced Boost Mode at parts (where Sonic appears to be a spinning cone of blurdom). That could make for some insane TAing.

The 3D bosses look interesting as well. I may just have to put this on my to-get list...
