well you sure are on late..having a weekend blast party or something? waaaaay past your bed time young FR7!
SR2 isn't super interesting for me but I would watch it whenever you get it up. look at my SR3 time, it sucks... I could have 22 or 21 but I always mess up at the end trying to get to the chao platform...if only shadow had a bounce ball. my SR2 sucks too but that was with a old route and I didn't play much, I could probably do 24 pretty easy.
so sub 27 is almost possible huh? wow... even PK only sees 27.5, so you must have some great cuts over him finally. super coooooool!
And to think that if he never played it the level would likely still be at 31...(maybe 30?) competition rules... we should thank him for helping take FC2 to insanity, and CE2 from a sucky 33.95 to a perfect 32.95.
Not much to say about RH3? I wonder why..that time is incredible. It's probably about as perfect as sub 1:06.5 on CE3 would be, maybe close to sub 1:06? not sure....even with my best checkpoint splits, I thought 59.69 was perfection (as in no one would even get close) but he got damn close..maybe the pulley is slower at the beginning? or he's just insane. I actually sent him a personal congratulations last night because the time is so good.
ya'll just don't stop over-crediting me.. I can't believe Brian thinks he's third... he's not even close to second. how in the world can someone who is 6th in the game overall and ranked SECOND overall in the times division be worse than someone like me who is only good at one type of level? come on Brian.. you're #1 by far at the moment. don't be silly!

sorry for such an abrupt disappearance, there's some hurricanes going on around here and my power died and I am just now able to get on. when you live far from the city like me, you're the last priority and it takes forever to get it back. But I am alive! No damage!
FR7, holy shiiiiit man! FC2 27.6!!!!!!!!!!! you blew the hell out of that level! PK *HAS* to be challenged big time by that one. Crazy. Near perfection?
SR sweep, M2 and M3 records sound like perfection to me. You said you got one or two or them taped! Awesome! You ARE the FR, SR, FC *****MASTA******** beyond anybody's skill. Forever! SR5 sounds really crazy too.. DO YOU HAVE PROOF? :P i know that's getting old, I will never use it again
Looks like superstar almost beat my GH record too...I checked the new video, his route is definitely a little bit faster. Too bad I really suck at it :( it will be tough to get the record back once taken, and of course 23.
And did anybody see rayku's new RH3 time? it's insanity, I figured perfection would be 59.70...he got damn close! wonder what perfection really is.. 59.5? insane.....too bad he doesn't have a video, but I trust him. He's been around for way longer than me, he's one of the original sa2 kings!

Ok I'm sorry I'll stop hating my 2:08..it's just with the 2 big mistakes and the outdated beginning strategy I don't like it!

Instead of jumping off the first rail to the platform and spindashing, he just jumps from rail to rail but somehow has way more speed than I could ever get..he appears to save anywhere from 0.3-0.5 sec doing so compared to our way! that's enough right there alone to improve your 2:07 to 2:06.
man, you used to suck so much beyond belief, how did you ever get so good? I did better than that when I was 12 years old playing SA2 for the first time on DC!!

Knowing you, yes, it will change quite quickly ;) Am I just being over-confident about 2:06's do-ability though, is the question.
heck yes, we are both way better than we were in 2008. In 2008 you probably died trying to slide down the very first rail in sky rail(haha..over-exaggerating of course :P)but now you have the record, and insane one at that. Maybe we can't get 2:07 on the very first try, but I bet in a few hours we will..and then see 2:06 within reach.
Hopefully by the time I get the next set of videos up I'll have a 2:06 or at least 2:07, then I won't have to upload the embarrassing 2:08!

Sometimes it just works that way..you play something WAY too much and you just can't do better, but skill builds over time usually..so coming back much later, you'll be way better and nail it
Maybe not, but I have a feeling that will be the case, and is why I want to try for 2:06 sometime.

I got a big trip to do today, in about 2 hours and I wanted to make sure I am ready instead of sleeping until somebody wakes me up 5 minutes before we leave, I hate that :P

Also, look at the last one..I just noticed how cool it is..you me and Brian in a row..that's how it should be for all the sonic/shadow levels!! Not in that order every time though, of course.
I like your ultimate goal for SA2B, nothing ridiculously hard where you have to kill yourself to get there, but not something super easy you do in 1 day either. A nice balanced challenge to be proud of upon completion. :) For white jungle, don't be discouraged if you can't do the loop skip after the 43 sec check. It's not really a skill thing, it just happens when you get lucky. It would be nice to pull it off in a checkfree run to get 1:29 or 1:28, but there's already enough to go wrong...never know though. Your 2:22 FC1 proves you can get that 1 in a million run sometimes! The rest of the shortcuts should be quite easy.

If you can do all the tricks on WJ check-free, you can easily beat me.. I probably lost a whole second from both checks added up.
In the green forest video, I definitely blew 1:22 at the end as you can see. :( mainly because of the check, but also cause I had a terrible jump to skip the loop, and the jump/bounces at the end were horrible compared to yours. But like I said who cares either way, once you get DC you'll get 1:20 or better depending on how many time savers you have that I do not know about!
anyway they're definite all up now, what a bunch of work that was!

Go to bed, FR7! when you wake up you'll be able to see the once thought impossible:: Sub min on RH3!!!!!! It doesn't get any more exciting than that! As well as a couple others.

I think you should play first, since I am already ahead of you. The only new strategy I can think of right now is the first 18 seconds.. there's gotta be a way to do it faster than my video. I remember one time when I went to jump the chaos blob, I landed right back on the rail! Or on the ground..it was one or the other. It was completely luck, but if we get something similar consistently we could probably do it as fast as M1 which is a second right there.
From there,..well....I don't know yet til I play the level. But I know there are lots of improvements for sub 2:10!

WJ did have some shockingly crazy parts huh? Like the double roll skip in the beginning, that one is tough as can be but it looks cool and saves almost a second. I can see that putting you into a deep shock :P
FR5 was not great really, I missed that long rail at the end among other parts, where our strategy has improved. that's why you need to beat me! 2:12 is not much better.
I guess you can watch CE3 tomorrow as well as the highway, CE2 and also, I forgot about it in my post but I also have my new green forest M1 record as well! it really sucks as you'll see, (1:22 potential) but it's okay, once Brian gets a DC with his new tricks he'll get 1:20 or sub anyway.

Is that why I have such trouble with it on M1 even with lots of speed? I didn't think timing really mattered, I just hit the button near the end. You got so close on M5 =( Keep going!! just keep this in mind: 38/41!!!! that's insane!

It's..not like me.... Not like me at all.... Who am I becoming? I am not even going to know who I am anymore if I don't stop..the checks...the checks! THE CHECKS!! Evil!! Stay away from me! I am slowing being possessed by the SA2B devil..checks...and even..the security hall 2 lives trick....How is this possible? How can someone.....go from.... 4-lives no checks on every run down to this...checks, multiple checks sometimes even!....and using more than the default 4 lives..... how..... could I be reduced to this..?....slowly, I am being possessed....and taken to...the....dark side of this game's competition techniques.....the one thing I always fought AGAINST....my determination..must be......slowly diminishing..for me to resort to.....such...cheap tricks to gain....time records......my determination......and skill......will never be......the same................
On a different note I hope you can sleep tonight, I may or may not have them up by the time you go. Oh and by the way talon wants to know if you did anything different on your 29 FC2 run compared to your 31 video.

I used 2 checkpoints on WJ1 :( The 43, and 56. The 43 one cause I messed up somewhere, but I didn't lose time on it cause I managed to pull off an inconsistent loop skip to make up for the time loss. If only I could get the loop skip to work every time..the 56 one I used cause i messed up with the vine force and hit the stupid spring.
Of course, I now see 1:28 being possible.. but that's check-free insanity right there with a level where stuff never goes right. I am satisfied with sub 1:30 checks or not!
I still kinda like 1:30.89 checkfree better though, since we all know how I am :P I will probably upload them both into 1 video, showing my best time and best check-free time. Yes, I did get the 1:29.99 on tape! I was actually playing on M3 trying to get 1:36, but the run was so good I said screw the chao and went for the "back" ring. I am pretty sure this is allowed, cause the time stops the same way it would hitting the goal ring, and I did it on my old 1:54 Pyramid Cave "M1" run (see comment) and no admins said anything, so it must be okay. If I had played M3 like I was supposed to though, I know I would of had a high 1:35...
Yeah it sounds like you were lucky I didn't know I still had my FR runs :P I found them while looking through the tapes to see what I had. If you're curious, I found these:
City Escape M3: 1:06.80 (Restarted only once, at one checkpoint)
City Escape M2: 32.95 (No restarts!! yeah of course hehe)
Radical Highway M3: 59.97 (1 check used, restarted 16 or so times :/)
Final Rush M1: 2:08.52 (Had a few terrible looking spots :/)
Final Rush M5: 2:13.59 (didn't even watch this one yet.. I just saw it whilst fast forwarding)
White Jungle M1: 1:30.89 and 1:29.99 (Going to make a dual-run video for this as I said)
White Jungle M5: 1:41.20 (Yes I got this one on tape, forgot how many checks I used but quite a few I think.. I guess I should upload it anyway)
Metal Harbor M3 SS: 22.69 (Cool run to play and watch, can be improved!)
Sorry I didn't have a surprise for you when you woke up :( I didn't really have a chance to transfer the tapes cause like last time the dvd recorder was busy being used by somebody else..maybe tomorrow you'll have a nice surprise! Yeah here we go with the excuses again.. :(

that's cool, it will probably take me a while longer than that anyway cause I have to copy the runs from tape to dvd, and then convert that to wmv..takes quite a while.
Plus I think I will throw in some bonuses! like Metal harbor M3 22.69 speed shoe trick and maybe some other similar runs..i'll have an awesome video package up by tomorrow!
by the way I hope I don't cause you to lose sleep tonight, by being so excited about what you'll be seeing tomorrow.. I know excitement always keeps me awake at night.

I'll record something tonight just for you, I can't guarantee it will be a perfect record but it will highlight every strategy I use and definitely be at least 1:32. But maybe I'll nail an insane 1:29 whilst recording, just like you got 40.6 SR while recording..you know how that stuff works out sometimes :P
I could take the TSC record probably, but I don't like M2 very much plus it would not be official since talon's record is almost a second better. A TSC sweep is not an official sweep if someone out there has a better time! I like Brian's WJ1 comment...he had it for a lot longer than he expected I bet! almost a year!

2 new stats.. I improved M2 (effortlessly) and stole M1! (15 mins) Brian has some catching up to do now!
I might try for a sweep..but talon's new record looks pretty good.
The tubes suck..it is all about jump height, angle, speed, timing..it's way too insane for me to master!
I haven't recorded anything because I am playing with high quality hookups(LOOKS AWESOME!) but unfortunately my vcr won't work with them :(
Maybe I should though to demonstrate the strategies I use.

Playing final chase made me feel like such a useless player compared to you..you got 2:22 in a perfect run, I got 2:28 after restarting from the 40 second checkpoint 50 times because I can't do the tubes without getting stuck. I suck and you're perfect :(
White jungle made me feel a little better.. I played 5 minutes on M5, discovered how to skip the spring every time and 5 minutes later got 1:42. M3 took about 15 minutes, and I played M1 for over and hour and could not beat Brian. I did have a run on M1 that had 1:29 potential, but I failed the roll skip before the 58 sec check(which would of been 57 or even 56 on this crazy run!)
I want that M1 record!!!
Yes, my metal harbor DC run was 1:13.77 and I had like 2+secs worth of mistakes compared to my 1:13 GC...but it's just so hard I'll never be perfect :(
Talon said he might be able to borrow a DC sometime, if he does he will give it a try.
I don't know how you cannot beat even my sky rail 5 yet..maybe it's cause of the fact you did not do the mega jump. Did Jawzun do it on his crazy 45?

Well I played.. look at the 2 new stats. Now we're up to.. 37/41!! (with talon's 2 records)

I FOUND A WAY TO SKIP THE ANNOYING SPRING ON WHITE JUNGLE 100% OF THE TIME
Can you believe it? About time is it not? Not even Brian has figured this out yet, so I must be quite special! Let's just say I was like oh HOLY **** when I realized it was working every single time, it obviously makes white jungle so much better to play. SO MUCH BETTER! EASIER! SO LESS ANNOYING!
It is really simple, but kinda hard to explain.. you just do Brian's insta-dash, and let go of every button except the B button, and as soon as you start swinging you tap the control stick up and the A button in a certain way, and you skip the spring every time. you'll have to play it to figure it out, but notice how when you swing if you tap up or the A button you swing with more force..you gotta tap them the proper amount of times and you always go high/far enough to skip the spring! Seems like if you press them too many times though you fail.
It is definitely awesome though, I have about 80% consistency with it. 4/5 runs will skip the spring! Once mastered, it could go to 100% for sure.
I also just got the M3 record! Tons of potential left...

Talon has been doing some insane plays recently.. he said he got 25.07 or something on Green hill after just a few minutes, as well as taking my RH2 record within a few more minutes with 36.65. We both see 35 as a slight possibility, provided somebody can make an insanity perfection run..something along the lines of sub 28 FC2 assuming PK seriously does see 27 being possible. He will probably be satisfied with 36.3 or so though once he masters the loop skip. He also got 1:42 on WJ3 but that's not so great. He did take WJ2 to sub 41 though! 40.84!

Yeah of course, the old master Zealous! He had the SR1 record since 10-26-03 the very first DAY TSC existed! He had it for a looooooong time, all the way til 12-03-07, when I took it. He was tied for the longest-standing site record with green hill, until I took GH, then it was #1.

And damn... I figured sub 40 would be impossible for sure but you're saying it can be done with pixel perfection..I understand you not trying for it, and I never expected you to. 40.6 is awesome as is!
Yeah...PC all day and SA2B can mess your eyes up. Fortunately I got something more fun to do nowadays so it's not all pc/tv, and I notice my eyes have been feeling better..and focusing better! I had a hard time playing games in general cause everything seemed blurrier and I had a worse reaction time. That's what sucks about a PC job..you're stuck looking at the damn screen all day, or most of it. I don't think I could do it for that reason, personally.
Speaking of PC's, do you have the monitor's refresh rate set at 70hz or higher? I noticed when I changed mine from 60 to 70 it made a WORLD of difference. The flicker was gone, and it was waaaaaaaaay easier to look at!
Take a break if you need to. Heck me and Brian are, you may as well join in so we're all stopped together! I'm starting to feel a lot better after no SA2B for a few days..odds are i'll end up taking the plunge again :/
