I have just unlocked Metal Sonic and i have a few Metal Sonic face marks/stamps. In some of the stages i have cleared with Metal Sonic,i have done better with him, than the original Sonic. So i was wondering, can you submit records from Metal Sonic, as normal Sonic records, or must it be from the original Sonic the Hedgehog? I might have worded it difficult, if you don't understand it, than sorry. Thanx.

The characters are in fact functionally identical, so use either.

Pretty much. There are some people who claim Metal Sonic has more control while running than Sonic, but these are the people who wanted the feeling that they weren't cheated for their hard work at getting 130 emblems.

Damn, that sucks, well could you blame them? Working so hard for those Emblems for a skin of Sonic and having to replay all those Sonic Stages again for nothing.
