A while ago, I had a vision for a video. Sonic Adventure 2 is full of strange stuff. Could I come up with an oddity for every level, and then compile it into a video?

While I was in the process of investigating what to do, my Dreamcast broke. This would be a problem. But with Economic Stimulus Day right around the corner at the time, it shouldn't be too hard to pick up a replacement there. So I did, and I started getting the clip segments I needed. Then I just had to combine them all into one video (and not get it to choke on 32 video files and 99 image files used to put it all together), see what my best production results would be, and wait an abnormally long time to get the green light for posting YouTube videos over 10:00 long.

The result is finally up.

You've probably seen some of those tricks before (a few were taken out of already-existing record videos), but I doubt you'll know of all 32 without having watched the video already. Sounds cool, but it would take forever to download such a long video on dial-up.
Maybe I'll look at it when I get a chance.

SA needs something like this. Except there's so much that it deserves a whole series of videos.

marth: can you come up with something from every level with every character? (I know amy and sonic won't have many problems.. but yeah.)

or even one from just every level? you could use tp-a, f-s, caisnopolis sonic or tails, etc.

(except maybe some boss stages), but some characters would have to be skipped at least a few times.

But actually, I can't really make a good video. I could try to make videos with the webcam,
but low quality can be expected. Also, a dial-up internet connection doesn't help.
(I could probably get around that problem using a DVD, though.)
Maybe I could choose some glitches and get someone else to do the dirty- er, fun work.
(That'd take out most of the fun, though. Seriously, it would.)

A month ago, I thought that video would be the only one of its kind. There were a few tricks left, I knew, but not enough for anything near as comprehensive as that.

Then, in a span of a week, I racked up enough clips to match the original video's set of 32...and then some. Once again there's something for every level, and some levels even have 2 new tricks.

In the first one, all tricks were GameCube-accessible except Metal Harbor, Eternal Engine, and Dry Lagoon.

This time, I know the second Metal Harbor trick doesn't work. I'm not sure, but I suspect that the first Eternal Engine trick and Mad Space might not work.

Heh, Big rings explained.

I like how you can glide underwater. I am finding out nice TA stuff here.

Also, nice song for the 2nd part of the vid. The 3rd song I believe. (ooh song credits. Reflection Theory is it) The 1st vid had a pretty good song too.

*gasp* Knuckles can glide sideways =O just like SA1

Epic glitch for the last story. I guess that explains that rule the site has for it.

Again, excellent vid. You know, my bro actually sat down and watched the entire first vid with me? That must mean it was good! (SA2 is the only Sonic he likes)

I guess there isn't going to be a part 3 after all.

But there is going to be a part 2.5. In fact, you can have it right now: http://youtube.com/watch?v=NYkYIqWtp14 There are fewer tricks, hence the half, but they're a lot longer: part 1 had 32 tricks in 15:20 and part 2 had 41 in 21:05, but this one manages to fill 14:13 even though there are only 15 trick segments. Some of the techniques came naturally from TA discoveries, so those won't be as surprising if you've been following the videos for that game, but it can't hurt to watch and see what you think of the rest.
