Same here for Shadow/SA3 Rings, and Heroes Special Stages, too.

Same here for Shadow Rings.

Hey, a new poster!

Welcome. Thanks for the support. Any other games you'd like to support. We are suggesting Rings for Sonic Advance 3, Special Stages for Heroes, Rings for STH, as you know, and two new additions: Sonic the Fighters and Sonic Shuffle.

EDIT: Thanks for even more support. :D

EDIT: Okay, if we're going to do Bonus Games [Advance 3], we need to know what we have available to us. How many Bonus Games per stage? What different types are there: So far I've only discovered - "Defeat Enemies", and "Switch". Any others?

I only got one time if we do this, so far:

Bonus Games: Ocean Base - Bonus 1 - Switch - 14'00

Has there been any more discussion about Christmas Nights since my first post? Just curious. :S

Christmas NiGHTS is competed in at www.scoreattack.net.  They claimed it first.

Response to below post:
Yeah, but then people'd wonder why we don't compete in NiGHTS Into Dreams.  So then we start that, and we take half of ScoreAttack's traffic.  It's just courtesy that they keep their games, and we keep ours.  Plus, I don't think one level with a Sonic character merits an entire bracket.  RPG has Christmas NiGHTS, ask him. (read: wait for him to come here, don't PM him)

Nope.

I recently found out about that game, actually [before your first post, I mean]. But, if you want, I could help you and possibly suggest it to Rolken if you like but I dunno who else has the game here. Can you think up Divisions, yourself? I could make the charts, if you like.

EDIT: gs93, couldn't we still pull it off?
EDIT: Well eggFL, I guess you'll have to wait a while

I've had it. [Not with this!]

I've loooked throughout the Internet and at Retailers, even at Cash Converters, but I can't find what I'm looking for - the Stereo AV Cord for the Dreamcast [the one that plugs audio/video into TV].

Can anyone help me?! I'm looking for a Canadian Video Game Retailer, heck, any place that would sell it! It's getting me quite frustrated.

EDIT: I'm so frustrated I've decided to look for a UNIVERSAL S-Video Cord instead. It's hopeless.

Wow, I didn't think that there would be that much support for Fighters, Sonic Jam, and so on.

I completely change my stance on the topic, and am pro the adding of whatever was mentioned.

And while we're throwing around suggestions, why not add Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine? It's a valid game to compete in, and I'm sure that there would be enough competitors.

It would be divided by time and score. The four sub-divisions would be Easy, Normal, Hard, and Hardest, one per enemy (the enemy AI does vary. Arms won't attempt to set up combos, while that is all Frankly does). As the score is cumulative, passwords (or using continues) would be required to submit a score. A time limit would  be necessary for score attack, eliminating arbitrarily large...scores.

The button minigame in Advance 3 is a bad idea.  The buttons don't come up in any specified pattern.  They're random.  And only for something minor like that.  The enemy-defeat minigame's not bad, I guess.  It'd be kinda tedious to play it, then have to restart the whole game to replay it if you don't get the record, though.

Overall, I'm against bonus records.  Though Special Stage ring records would be cool.  I've already recorded my stats for that and have a perfect in the first one.

Well, neither is Shadow The Hedgehog and Knuckles Chaotix. In fact, Sonic isn't even playable in those games. But guess which game he -is- playable in? ;D

If we had a Christmas Nights competition, all of it would be included not just the Sonic part. However Sonic is the justification for us including it.

"but then we'd have to have normal Nights too" Well we don't have to.. but we /could/. XD After all Nights is referenced the hell out of in Sonic games and is playable in Sonic Riders. But if we had Nights, it would take away some of the coolness of this site having only Christmas Nights and not Nights. Also we would have a redundant bracket, I think. (Claris in Spring Valley is the same in each game, I assume)

But I guess not, apparently. That's fine. I had to ask though. :]

err... I should just use that scoreattack.net, then!

lol r u dum

Shadow and Chaotix are games of the Sonic franchise. They include characters that are directly from there, and the same storyline.

Sonic in Christmas NiGHTS is a cameo, controllable maybe, but it's still there for fun and doesn't make it part of the franchise.

Christmas NiGHTS doesn't even have a Sonic level, you can just opt to play as Sonic, which makes it much harder as you dont fly, you run around a la Claris and Elliot.
Did you not think I had a mind?

Mean Bean Machine (genesis) is awesome!  albeit I only beat it once, its a kickass Puyo Pop clone.  Plus it reminds me of how much I miss Bust a Move :(

also anyone have any tips to kick Metal Sonic's ass in Fighters?  I suck against him with his cheap tactics...like fighting Dural from Virtua Fighter...only harder!

With a fast character like Sonic, mash the 'Standard Attack' button until he dies, or at least until a special move will kill him. With someone like Fang, get him trapped in infinite combos (in his case, a right standard+up special+down standard...I believe that Sonic, Tails, Bean, Espio, and Amy all have infinite combos). With a powerful character such as Bark or Knuckles, attempt to keep Metal Sonic at a distance where most of his insanely powerful melee attacks can't reach you, while you can still get in a few potshots between attacks. Generally speaking, when he uses his spindash or spinjump, move back then jump over them, either with a special move or the standard, yet slower, jump. A few moves that work well for jumping over him are Sonic/Tails' spinjump, Knuckles' drill dive, and Espio's karate chop. There are probably others, but I haven't played Gems Collection in a few months. By which I mean two months.

Someone should assemble a compendium of knowledge dealing with each level/character combination and submit them as guides. Someone else.

Heh... suddenly everybody's jumping on the bandwagon.  Hell, I ain't gonna complain.  The more support, the better.

^BTW, for a quick hit on Metal Sonic in Fighters, just block the first two moves of that three-move combo he always starts with, then flurry.  Just be sure to back out / jump once it's done, else he'll grab you.  Not a perfect strategy, but it works for me.

Updates for me:

Digital Circuit:  410 (several rings are unobtainable, and some can't be obtained unless you go through a firewall)
Cryptic Castle:  364
Prison Island:  339
The ARK:  149

Next, I'll try Mad Matrix.  This level is pretty hard to RA, due to the grid.

Sorry, everyone. Haven't eben on in a while.

I got a lot of posts to sift through so gimme some time to update the charts. I havemade scores on ALL SONIC HEROES SPECIAL STAGES! Yay me. That'll be good support for the chart.

I also have a few questions I need to pose so just gimme a bit of time.

EDIT:

On that note, I have some Fighters submissions. Some of them were AMAZING for me, personally, and they'll be an improvement on my last ones [P.S, since the charts are not designed to show stats for each character specifically, these are only my best times]:

South Island: 23"35 [Bark]
Magic Carpet: 40"18 [Sonic]
Aurora Icefield: 30"32 [Knuckles] - That was cool!
Mushroom Hill: 28"71 [Bark] - Too good to be true for me! I couldn't believe it.
Canyon Cruise: 35"44 [Amy] - Tails used to gimme so much trouble. Now he's not so tough.
Casino Night: 46"02 [Knuckles]
Dynamite Plant: 37"50 [Bark] - Coming from a guy who could almost never pass this stage!
Giant Wing: 1'01"13 [Amy] - I can't believe I got this time - with Amy!!
Death Egg's Eye: 27"34 [Bark] - THIS IS SO UNBELIEVABLE, but, as hard as it may be to believe, this time is legit; no defaults changed, no lies about the time. I still can't believe I beat him twice in a row on my first match!
Hangar [Bonus]: 07"21 [Amy]
Clear Time: 8'44"66 [Bark]

Truly incredible for me [especially the Metal Sonic stage].

Glad you had a change of heart. And thanks for the indirect apology. ;)
Anyway, it seems 50/50 as far as deciding whether or not Mean Bean should be added. I suggested this to an Admin also but they never replied.

I think here's what we'll do to make everyone happy.
We'll set up divisions and all and see how things turn out. If people start getting frustrated and the 50/50 for support changes to a higher number and/or people show strong reasons as to why it shouldn't be added or even if it's just not working out, we can remove it. Simple. It's no big deal for me. Just give me some time and I'll get to it after I do what I have to do - first off, sifting through posts.

Maybe, you're right about that. I kinda support it still but it seems like it wouldn't be such a good idea after all unless someone has some other thoughts...?

Regarding the enemies, we'll stick with that but where are they all? I know there's one in Sunset Hill but as for the rest I'm clueless. Can anyone help me out, here? Is there one per zone?

EDIT: There are quite a few of outstanding things we need to resolve if we're ever going to continue making progress. [Speaking of progress, congrats to the topic for getting over 500 Views and over 150 Posts!] Here's all of the things we need to settle:

Shuffle:
1. Stage Divisions are still unresolved. Are we keeping them per character [Sonic, Tails..] or per mode [Story/Versus]?
2. What's the final verdict on Number Jump [Time]?
3. I've got an idea for a Freestyle Competition which was on account of some were sugggesting we do competitions with CPUS on Hard and some on Easy. Which one would you rather do [and why] of the following:

Idea 1: Computers can be on Easy Mode; Idea 2: Computers can be on Hard Mode?

Sonic Advance 3:
None.

Note to Self: Add 10-Minute Rule.

Sonic Heroes:
1. Shadow Jacky [I think] proposed that we do "Extra Chaotix Missions"? What ever happened to that? Can you gimme more info, either SJ or anyone else.

Shadow the Hedgehog:
None.

Sonic the Fighters:
1. I've gotten ideas for a Freestyle Competition. Which one would you rather do [and why] of the following:

Idea 1: Computers can be on Easy Mode; Idea 2: Computers can be on Hard Mode; Idea 3: You can change the Round Time to 10 seconds; Idea 4: You can change any of the settings.

2. Regarding "Robotnik's Hangar", is it possible for a person to get 15"00 if they get "Time Over"? If so, should we make a rule of only allowing people to submit times 14"99 and under?

Other:
1. Is Sonic Labyrinth still up for debate?
2. What is the final verdict on Christmas NIGHTS?

With all that being said, guys who have stats pending for the charts, I'll got on them right away. [I still have mine to do but i'll go for yours first since mine will take longer...]

Oh, and before I forget, regarding Heroes' S.S Divisions, I should have been more clear with the Most Links. Hopefully, I'll be clearer this time: Out of all the Bonus Special Stages, what is the largest Link Combo you have ever recieved [that's when you recieve more than one link in a row, it says at the bottom X or XX or XXX Links]. Make sense now?

_______________________________________________________________________________________

EDIT: By the way, gs93, I got 12 seconds on Stop and Go, and 55 rings on Twister [for Shuffle].

I don't have the exact times (although my total clear time is saved), but I know about how good a few are.
(all with Sonic)
South Island: about 26
Aurora Icefield: 23? (definitely somewhere under 27)
Death Egg Hangar (I didn't even know that's what it is. This is Robotnik's stage, right?): about 5 1/2 seconds, I think

Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine... hmm... maybe I'd try that a little, but I don't know if
I'd really count as a full supporter. There are other games I'd be more likely to play.

Well, Marth. Thanks, but those won't count. No SPECULATION times are allowed. It needs to be exact since the game gives the time in precise detail - milliseconds too. But, check out your clear time and I'm sure gs93 will be happy to add it for ya.

Second, are you saying you'd like to support it - Mean Bean?

Shuffle:
1. Stage Divisions are still unresolved. Are we keeping them per character [Sonic, Tails..] or per mode [Story/Versus]?
2. What's the final verdict on the following mini-games: Egg in Space [Time]; Number Jump [Time]?

1. Hax at you for wanting the stages in there. HAX!
2. I guess we can put Egg in Space in there. Everyone would get the same time, but we're used to this. I need to check Number Jump.
3. Aren't CPUs on normal by default? That's what we should use in that case (like for the SAdva games). No need to duplicate every stage into duplicate entries, even if freestyle, this game simply doesn't need it.

1. Yeah, I know. I'm just posting a few times. I didn't expect to be added to the rankings.
Oh, and it's actually hundredths (centiseconds?), not milliseconds.
(Milliseconds are used in F-Zero X and GX, and that's about it, as far as I've seen.)

2. Uh... I don't know. Can I give half-support? If not, I guess this shouldn't count as support.
I've already said that I'm more interested in playing the existing games than adding new ones (in most cases).
