General Sonic / Re: Chemical Plant Music Video

This was beautiful!

I have one suggestion tough:
At about 0:35 Tails bounces through the screen.
I´d say either leave him out of the game completely or perform some awesome stunts with him too :-)

Nice catch, thanks! I'm pleased that someone is watching with as much attention to detail as I put into making it :)

That would be awesome to add tails to the mix! It might be a problem though...since I play real time and have no friends. ;)

The original mix is by Luke Terry as part of the VGM Trance Project hosted on tranceaddict.com

http://luketerry.com/sonique/Luke%20Terry%20vs%20Sonic%20The%20Hedgehog%20-%20Chemical.mp3

Since his song is a 7 min long trancer I kinda spliced back and forth between his beats and some synths (exported just those tracks from gens) from the original to make a radio style edit. Thanks for the signpost idea that will be a good way to finish it off. I'm about 80% done you can see there are a few transitions that need some attention.

Competition Central / Call for quality Sonic 1/2/3/S&K runs

I forgot to mension the most important part about the music. When the original music is about to repeat, there will be seamless mix into a remix of the same song, but you will still hear the sound effects on top of the remix.

Watch this vid to see what I mean:
Full resolution video 18MB http://sonic.tcpmusic.com/FINAL_rings.avi

The remixed music is on these zones:
Sonic 1 - GHZ, Marble
Sonic 2 - Chemical Plant, Aquatic Ruin, Metropolis
Sonic 3 - Ice Cap
S&K - Flying Battery

So if you have a run that's longer the length of that level's music (but less than twice as long), it will be particularly useful.

Competition Central / Call for quality Sonic 1/2/3/S&K runs

I am looking for some good runs made by the best sonic players. You know who you are :) It's for a video/music remix project. Here are some sample vids if you want to see what it's all about:

[Marble Zone] http://youtube.com/watch?v=n-6OVtQ59X4
[GHZ] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6fVUAKaUoI
[Spring Yard] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HH7AkiB8EQ
[Chemical Plant] http://youtube.com/watch?v=mgW6YTPzxjg

The general idea here is to make the audio track more entertaining with quieter sound effects, no jumping sound, no end level music. The original music is used but mastered so it sounds good on a big stereo system.

I might already have your run if you've posted it on the net before, but I still need your permission to use it for this project. Credit will be given to you in the video. Also if you have a recommendation for a run to use, let me know I've probably seen it before and I'll track down the author.

Types of runs I'm looking for:
- explore entire map path/time
- grab all rings/time
- regular speedruns (preferably ones that do not exploit bugs)
- anything well done and fun to watch (you probably spent hours making it!)

These are some of the best levels/music I want runs on esp red ones
Sonic 1
GHZ 1,3
Marble 1,3
Spring 1,3
Labyrinth 3
Starlight 1,2
Special Stage

Sonic 2
Chemical Plant 1,2
Aquatic Ruin 1,2
Casino Night 1
Wing Fortress

Sonic 3
Hydrocity 2
Ice Cap Zone 2

Sonic and Knuckles
Flying Battery Zone 2

Send me a link to .gmv files and savestate if required (not the video) and name of ROM used or upload it here:
ftp://sonicvideo:videoupload@sonic.tcpmusic.com

thanks and I hope to hear from you!
