Update: I can't seem to upload Cryptic Castle 566 Rings because it's too long. I did upload it today, but it has been rejected by youtube. D;

I know SJ said length doesn't matter, but I think only certain users can upload videos with long (more than 15 mins) length. I could just upload Cryptic Castle (and for that matter Mad Matrix since it's almost 20 mins long) to the site as a file (the files are MPEG-2), however, both of the files are pretty much a GB and I'd hate to have you download something that huge.

I did apply for the youtube partnership program (though i feel the application will fail) which lets users upload videos longer than 15 mins. However, I don't think it will pass because I'm not popular on YouTube, (though I do have some views from people.) I could cut the videos up into parts, though I REALLY don't want to do that.

Basically, I want for there to be a way to get these on YouTube without cutting it into parts or getting a successful application for the youtube partnership program. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can solve this problem. Thanks and please respond soon.

Bad news, I can't seem to manage Lava Shelter rings (the back-track is being difficult), so that will have to be done later (probably summer) if you still want it done. You can check out Paraxade's video for reference, if you want an idea of how it is done. 

Good news, everything else is done (Mad Matrix: rings, Death Ruins: rings, Space Gadget: Rings, Air Fleet: Dark: Time). Hopefully I can start uploading everything tomorrow.

Well I put in a good effort and got these done:
Cosmic Fall: 425 Rings
The Last Way: 373 Rings
Cryptic Castle: 566 Rings (the vid is 16 and a half mins in case you're wondering, I'm surprised i got it done that quickly)
Prison Island: 463 Rings

I'll try to get the other four done (Mad Matrix, Death Ruins, Space Gadget and Lava Shelter) today and tomorrow before I go back to school.

That's even better because I have two guides (two because I managed to improve 360 to 373) for The Last Way Rings. I hope you'll find the guides useful. Also, (on a side note) I made 360 to try to help other players (and see some stat submitting.) However, someone got 369, and so then I took it up to 373 and I felt that I should make another guide so people could get the record. Reply back when you finish the RAs and tell me what you still need done (I'm trying to take a few days break and then I'll see about getting more stuff done). Also Flying Fox I checked your ring stats page and saw that you need to do Digital Circuit and Sky Troops, and I do have a video for Digital Circuit and DsS has a vid for Sky Troops so maybe you can start with those RAs. Hope this all helps. Good luck!!

Since I've finally finished my times chart on Sonic Chaos, I'm going to take a small break from chaos up to the new year and do some shadow RAing. I'll try and do some of these on my own and if I do get lucky and get the record, I'll let you know so you don't waste your time. Although I have a feeling that you'll beat me to it since I can't remember how Shadow RA's work again and need to figure it out :(

If it helps, there are guides for:
Cryptic Castle (though I already told you this)
Prison Island (if you come up 2 rings short, go to the 3rd check and break a nearby canister to find two more rings)
Space Gadget
Cosmic Fall

Since each of these levels are damaged, I'll tell you where it is done for each:
Mad Matrix - 3rd check (the one in the orange (or is it yellow) tower)
Death Ruins - 1st check (don't worry the back-track is easy)
Final Haunt - 7th check

Also, there is a video for Lava Shelter by Paraxade. Now to get the extra 10 rings, do not use chaos control (when Parax did that in his vid he destroyed a crate holding a 10-ring capsule) Also, be patient when sucking up rings at the final defense system (it can take a while before you have 449).

Even if I beat you to these, chances are they still won't be uploaded til January. Hope this helps you a little bit.

Well Time because I want to get the easy way out of getting a good time and score from the trick. Well it could be a time or score.

I already have a guide for the dark mission time. Do you still want a time vid anyway or shall I do a score?

Also, (yet another) update. I worked outrageously hard over the past few days and I now have:
Glyphic Canyon: Dark: Time: 2:16:45 (new record vidded (though it can easily improve). :D)
Prison Island: Hero: Time: 2:10:55 (new record vidded. :D)
Sky Troops: Hero: Time: 2:32:27 (Could be better (since I made mistakes), but this level was frustrating me so I just went for something out of desperation)
Death Ruins: Hero: Time: 1:39:77 (This frustrated me as well, but at least it's Sub 1:40.)
Lost Impact: Hero: Time: 4:24:03 (Score was bad, but the time is good.)
Heavy Dog: 0:18:64 (Could be better, but I'm glad I subbed 20 seconds.)
The Last Way: Time: 1:27:24 (Needs improved, but I'm happy I got this.)
Devil Doom: 1:02:78 (This guy was getting annoying, so I just decided to take any run I could get, though it's 10 seconds off my best.)
Iron Jungle: 363 Rings (I barely got this, I almost died a few times in the run, but I got it. :D)

Still not sure what I'm going to do about uploading, but you can definitely expect these in January for sure.

You certainly can. (Funny thing though, DsS said he'd make a vid (which was 2 years ago) and that never happened, but the strat was revealed.) Also, Flying Fox feel free to request the other RAs now so that I can put them on my list so they get done. 

Also, more updates:
I got a new controller (now I don't have to fight the camera and more requests can get done. Yay!!:D)

I also have more vids done (as of now):
Lethal Highway: 369 Rings
Cosmic Fall: Hero: 2:26:61 (New record is vidded. :D)
Robot Storm: Dark: 2:52:08 (not the record but it is the same strategy)

Also, it's taking a long time for YouTube to upload the videos (and that's probably because my internet service at home is slow.) Also, (apparenty) trying to upload the videos slows down my family's network, and they make me cancel the upload because of it. I also tried uploading it overnight, but for some reason the upload always failed. So I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I'll still be making vids, but it might be a while before they are uploaded. (January is probably when I'll be able to upload these, but hopefully I can get some of these uploaded over break)

Whoa!! Looks like I have my work cut out for me. Since the Westopolis: Hero: Score and Lost Impact: Hero: Score records I got were achieved from TAs, I'll just TA them (and try not to hurt any GUN soldiers or destroy things I don't need to while TAing.) Usually when you're doing a mission in Shadow, you can get two records (Time and Score) just from TAing. Is it alright if they are TAs? Consider all of them (though they be many) accepted.

Now here is an update (so far). I' ve done a few of these, however, they weren't done to the best of my ability. Reason for that is because the C Stick on my GameCube controller is broken. (The C Stick controls the camera angle.) I had to fight with the camera angle, I do have other controllers, but they're all broken as well. Perhaps I should think about getting a new controller before doing the rest of these. I'm happy I (at least) got the following done though:

Frog Forest: Dark: Extra: 5:39:18 (I know it's from Heroes, but I had to Sub 6. It was something I felt I just had to accomplish.)
Mad Matrix: Dark: Time: 5:01:27 (Camera angle nonsense (and a few mistakes) prevented me from filming a Sub 5 run, but it is the same strategy. If you want groudon I can re-film it.)
Central City: 351 Rings (Camera angle messed me up here to, but I managed to get all the rings with 1:30 left on the clock.)
Glyphic Canyon: 367 Rings (I actually did this faster than I thought I would, it's the damage abuse that makes it so time-consuming.)

I'll try to get these uploaded soon. Also, I will look into getting a new controller (you may not know it, but you sometimes need the camera at a certain angle in order to get some things right, that and I'm pretty fed up with fighting the camera.)

Sure you can post a comment or PM me on YT. Though hopefully this topic won't be dead. Also, even if you leave a request it may take a while before I can do it (though I hope to get these done over Christmas break), if not you may end up waiting until Summer (May 2011 at least).

So Lethal Highway: Rings and Glyphic Canyon: Rings. I'll try, I'll need to develop some speed ring attack tactics, or cut up the videos (because I don't want a long video.)

Also, since a good portion of these requests (so far) are ring attacks, I'll tell you all that considering how long some of these may take, it may determine whether I do the request or not. However, I will try, I promise.

Heh I was going to ask if you could do a guide instead if it was too much of a bother. I had a quick check on the guides section for Shadow and I saw you already did one. So that will do for me :)

That guide isn't much of a help since it basically talks about what to get from the checks, but whatever. I'll tell you this, be careful, Cryptic Castle can get very annoying, especially with the damage abuse. You might want to try damage abuse at another check (rather than the 7th) to abuse damage. Also, make sure you check the entire level, there are holes in the walls, check behind the cracked walls that can be broken, etc.

How about Central City: Rings would that be ok? :o

Since I've started to make videos, I was wondering if anyone had any requests of what they'd like to see get done. I'll try to do these requests to the best of my ability (and memory though I'm pretty sure I remember the strategies.) I'll try to do what's requested however I'm sure some requests will be better than others (there are some annoying strategies that are difficult to work with to get the record.) I've already made a few videos for Shadow and you can check these out on YouTube. I guess I'll accept re-do requests (videos I've already made but are horrible or are not close to the record even though it's the same strategy, take The Doom: Dark: 2:51:13 as an example since it's 9 seconds off the record) though I'll probably do non re-dos first. I'll try to set new records in the videos, my current records are a sight to behold, but I don't think they're perfect yet.

I hope to get some videos done over Christmas break (provided people actually request stuff, and my game treats me nicely.) Also, this is for Shadow the Hedgehog requests only (obviously.)

Try to post your requests in this format:
level: mission (dark, hero, normal): division (time or score) -or- boss: division (puro hero, hero, neutral, dark, pure dark) -or- level: rings

How did you get your Iron Jungle Hero time in Shadow the Hedgehog? Are you sure you didn't take any necessary deaths? I was trying today and I got a 0:20:68, however I took a death after the mission completed (which I believe is in violation of the competition rules). The Egg Balloon needs 13 Shadow rifle shots to die, and I can't see using other weapon to get a time as low as 20 seconds, but I suppose I could be wrong (maybe you guys know a faster way to the 2nd check). Basically, I think RPGnutter broke the rule that states:
If you die after completing a mission objective, your stat does not count.

Also (just to make sure I understand this), for a run to be legal: you have to fire the last shot (or homing attack) and then wait until the game says the mission is complete, NOT fire the last shot, die and then the mission is completed after the death.

Overall, RPG if you can clearly remember your strategy, and it is legal then can you kindly post it here (or at least prove you didn't cheat), if not then I think you broke the rules with this mission. Thanks for your time.

EDIT1: I improved my 0:25:11 to 0:24:23, however I still don't see how 20 seconds is possible besides the method mentioned above. Also, I think I'll let sonicam off the hook here because I could probably reach his time with more patience (and frustration).

EDIT #2: Actually, I just tied sonicam, but I still can't see where to cut 3 more seconds off.

Well, sonicfan_1939, if you (or anyone else for that matter) want to compete in Shadow, then now is a really good time to do so because I've been taking the time to make a few guides to help people out. Also, let me give you some tips and pointers:
1) Read guides and watch videos for reference.
2) Have perseverance as well as patients, and you should be able to obtain some pretty nice stats.
3) If you think you have a nice idea for a strategy, try it out and see how it works for you, you may be surprised with your results.

Sorry I had to deprive you of motivation, Omega.

Don't worry about it. Maybe I can just use the Time Machine to print out his records and then try to improve my times based on what he had. Although, this does mean that I don't have to worry about improving everything I was planning to improve. So now I only have to worry about what I don't have records for, but I may improve some current world records anyway.

My times and scores are real, I'm telling it to you, and you don't believe me, ok, then erase them, I don't care, I no longer play this game, and it no longer interest me.

 

We're not saying you didn't get them. However, you don't remember your strategies or what you might have done and your scores are too unlikely to be true.

Thnaks for the pics Samourai. Your times are possible, but some scores seem to be a little exaggerated with what your time results are. Is this why you didn't submit your scores? Or did you photoshop these like Rolken said? >_>

Also, whether your times are legal or you hacked your game, thank you for submitting them. You (dare I say it again) motivated me to jurastically improve my times. It actually makes me sad that all your times are erased ( for the time being, unless you were BSing the whole time), because I'm going to miss the motivation.  Please explain the scores like Rolken said and hopefully I can be motivated again. >_>

There are some scores I find more inexplicable than LH-Hero:
Final Haunt: Dark (it's 41k when a time bonus of 2:45 would give you about 36k, and there is no way he got 5000 Dark points because why would you heal the aliens?)
Westopolis: Normal (it's 50040, how can this be when the first 5 rings in the level are automatically collected and you'd have 50050)

There are more inexplicable scores, but I don't want to have to make a long list.

Perhaps he used the Heal Cannon GUN Soldier Score Glitch for some of these, which wouldn't be allowed but he at least didn't submit his scores anyway.

Edit #1: I did deserve some competition, but all you did was mass-submit times from whenever. Dare I say this, but what are your scores, rings, and bosses like? Well, I better get cracking soon.

Okay Rick! You chose some pretty straight-forward ones (because SJ has already vidded these two strategies, but I think I can provide some tips).

Prison Island Normal Time:
Just do what SJ does in his video (provided that you've seen it). As for a simple tip just keep trying and trying until you have a time under 1:30. It's real easy once you get the hang of it and if you want a good score then just try to "Let the Speed Mend It" and collect lots of rings and the 1-Up to get a decent score along with your time. 

EDIT #1: Oh' I also forgot. When you are at the end and you see those 3 rings in front of you light dash them so you can get a nice speed boost and head straight for the Goal Ring, but make sure you shot the one GUN mech out of your way. Hope this helps you Sub 1:30!!

Lava Shelter Hero Time:
Like SJ's video (provided you've seen this one too XD) charge a spin dash before you get on each rail. Now at the beginning there is a way to accelerate over the Egg Pawns but it all depends on when you press X (if you have the GameCube version it's X) if you time it corrcetly Shadow will accelerate right over the Egg Pawn on the right rail. Also, before you reach the 2nd defense system take the rail (instead of just going straight down). Also, before you reach the Goal ring just homing attack straight off the rail and position yourself so you'll just land on the Goal Ring like Apraxas does in his video (Yes, he made a video, but he only showed the ending of his run.)

Well, I hope these help. I can't be much help on these because I tried to stick to SJ's vids. Also, I have yet to do better on Lava Shelter - Hero but I prefer Dark mission anyway.
