Some specific things wrong that need fixing:

- Overalls don't work
- Any Extra stats submitted don't go through

1. As there is some controversy between players and admins on whether to include character divisions, I'd just like to remind the admins that if they choose not to add character divisions there is a different format to use (the one in my previous post). [For instance, the level is Camelot Castle under times and the divisions are Legacy and Rush Hour.]

2. As charts are not up yet and the game is stupid about saving, this is the new temporary competition topic. I'll keep track of my stats in this post.

As I said in chat, you should offer 12 or so levels instead of RPG's 5, so people can pick ones from the games they have.

Perhaps 2 from SA2, 2 from SA1, 2 from Heroes, 1 from Shadow, 1 from SSR, 1 from SBK, 1 from S06, 1 from SUWii, 1 from SU360.
...

This isn't an all 3D league...

I was under the impression that each team has one 3Der and one 2Der, and that they will be held pretty much seperately.

In response to the "drop the centi" suggestion:

[1] It still requires paying an enormous ammount of attention to the timer at the end, and surely, since it dissapears so fast, there will be misreads and thus innacurate times.
[2] Someone can easily get a 1:18.01, and think it is a 1:17.xx. While centi dropping may sound easy in concept, it gets very fuzzy around the border between two seconds. People can unfairly get better times just by not noticing the very last frame.

You are just making yourself look more and more suspicious.

Personally, I'd be fine posting strategies to prove I'm legitimate. Why? Because this is the internet and we can't always just take what people say on honesty.

You may very well be telling the truth. I applaud you if you are. But as of now you are being very dodgy, making up excuses when asked for strategies, and its hard to trust you.

We aren't asking you for the strat for every level. Just a few to confirm your truthfullness.

If at one time you knew the strat for all these levels, surely you can relearn them. Can you relearn and give the strategy for a level that doesn't currently have a video?

This would really help a lot of us believe your times, especially since pictures can be faked.

I  I don't care to glitch because it saps every ounce of fun from the game, and why compete if you aren't enjoying yourself.  What benefits do you gain from not competing for 1st in video games? None. You waste your time, and I for one don't think it's worth it.  I play video games for fun, and glitching is not at all fun to me because it takes out all the enjoyable aspects of the game design, and quite frankly, competing in video games is pointless if you aren't enjoying yourself. 

The line "What benefits do you gain from not competing for 1st in video games?" shows that you compete for acheivement. If you competed solely for fun, as you say in the first line, then it wouldn't matter if you get 1st or 40th on the chart. This post contradicts itself.

Basically, if you solely care about fun, you shouldn't care that you aren't on top of the chart. If you care about topping the chart, than fun shouldn't be prioritized over speed.

I just noticed a Mod named Kitsune said that this is the same "shado" from SRB2.

Reposting because apparently some people haven't seen (although this was a response to someone talking about why glitchs should be banned because they wreck fun, some arguments still apply):

"Its pretty much restating what has been said, but TSC is about getting from start to finish as fast as possible. Note that this does not include what is the "fun" strategy or the "correct" strategy. As long as the strategy doesn't create a new starting point (CC1, R101-2, or various S3 levels), it should be valid.

Saying glitchs make competition worse is not a proven fact. Some people may dislike glitchs, as shown here. But I know, personally, I enjoy glitching (and I'm fairly sure people like SadisticMystic would say the same). It's fun creating routes that the designers never dreamed of in order to slowly increase your time. It's fun to know tricks like superbouncing or spindash jumps and trying to figure out where to best use them to cut off chunks of the course. It's exciting to finally get through that wall and have a chance and setting an amazing new personal record. I'd say glitchs are one of the main reasons I do compete here: they just add so much depth to competition and allow the unimaginable to become possible.

Time attacking is not and has never been about taking the "right" path through the course. Even in the days when time attacking was just in racing games, people would cut corners or find other tricks to improve their times. What makes sonic different? For us, cutting corners may be zipping through a wall or hover out of bounds. Simply put, if we want to stay the authority on sonic competition, we have to continue to allow glitchs."

I first borrowed SA2B from my friend about 2 months before I joined TSC, so October 2006 iirc. This was the first time I played Sonic.

My first two Sonic games that I owned were both in February 2007 - Heroes and Secret Rings. Heroes is both my first and least played, Secret Rings is my second and most played (besides SA2, but I don't techincally own it, even if I've borrowed it for 2 years).

Next up came SADX sometime in May or June or July or somewhere around there of 2007. Played it a bit, it was a good game, but I never got much into it.

SRA is my only portable sonic game, I got it very soon after it came out and played it quite a bit. That was late 2007.

Finally, I got Sonic Unleashed (Wii) this year and....thats it! Unless you count brawl, but who plays Sonic in that game anyways.

There are some nice stats in there...well at least I think nice stats since this game is too new to tell.

You ever going to TA night stages? Once you get past the fighting (ugh) they are pretty fun. Though it's understandable if you stick to day, I bet a lot of people will.

You could also just submit all your night times on your game for a small point boost on your profile. Even a 7/8 gives you a better %age than no submission.

Anyways, enjoy TSC! You should also submit those SA1 times you were talking about earlier [though that game will be quite a bit harder to get a record in X) ]

The wii version is still quite good, and some people actually like it better than the 360. Though that is personal opinion, not fact (as in PS2 heroes vs GC heroes, where there is no debating it).

And TSC will definately track wii version. Charts should go up...well they should be up by now, but hopefully soon >_>

What makes a glitch shortcut different than a normal shortcut? Where is the magical threshold that makes a shortcut "unfair" and "ruining a level"? How about those superbounces I know you do in Final Rush: they are ruining the fun of the level and ascending up some of those small rails! If you consider this too small of a section to matter, than what defines "too small"?

Any shortcut can be considered, as you say, "ruining competative fun". If you want to ban huge shortcuts from competitions, you have to ban smaller ones too. In City Escape no doing anything besides running down the building! No skipping the loop in Metal Harbor! In Final Rush take every rail on the path!

Eventually, "competition" will cease to exist. Everyone will be taking the exact same path at the exact same times and any deviance can be considered a shortcut. This will not show mastery of sonic or high-quality ability to speedrun.

Blah, blah, blah; read my post in the other topic. I don't feel like repeating myself and you probably don't feel like re-reading it. But people need to get over this big fear of glitchs. Strategy improvements are how competition works, and one must keep with the times to keep on top. I'm sorry if all your effort goes away and if your great fun is lost, but speedrunning is speedrunning and a slower stat is still a slower stat and should be treated as such.

On wii version, to get to a stage you first select the continent, then the stage. No need for level names.
