Heroes scores - All score charts removed, as it was impossible to determine if current stats were scalped or not (you could get the bonus without realizing how)
SSR scores - All effected score charts removed, as it was impossible to determine if current stats were scalped or not (you could get the bonus without realizing how)

Just thought I'd add those two that you forgot, since they also set a different kind of precedent.

Lies and slander. I said they are the fun part to compete in, but day stages are still fun just to play through (although I do wish they were more like the 360 levels, they really aren't that bad, despite the joke I had to make about straight lines).

Mostly because you could do more than run in a straight line in SA...

You can do more than run in a straight line in Unleashed. You can also:
Boost in a straight line
Fall in a straight line
Stomp in a straight line
Wall jump in straight lines
Crawl in a straight line
Homing Attack in a straight line
Jump in a straight line
Bounce off an enemy in a straight line
Light Dash in a straight line
Die

You argue that this addiction to Oxygen is terrible, but why? Just because it is an addiction? By that logic, an addiction to alcohol is bad, but that allows police to get jobs and takes some smog producing cars off the road. It also helps prevent overpopulation.

In conclusion, your argument is fundamentally flawed.

I'm pretty sure I did all my scores without death abuse. And Sky Babylon 2 Blaze was going to be my example of a score you -couldn't- get with death abuse as the time limit combined with ring requirement is so tight, that restarting makes you lose it.

Anyways, I don't see death abuse as that big of a deal. Just make sure it is explicitly stated which games you cannot death abuse in (Sonic 2, SSR, etc).

3. What would you say is the hardest 20 capsule to find on Final Rush 5 to get that record?
4. How many rings do you need to have to get 10 rings from a checkpoint?
5. What are the prizes from all seven checkpoints for Cosmic Wall 1?
6. How much time did you have left over on Sky Rail 4?
7. Did you dig up any rings on any of your stats? Did you use any screw kicks?
8. Where is the big ring in Death Chamber 5?
9. What are the prizes from the balloons required to get 354 in Route 101?

Can we actually see some pictures of your stats from the level select screen?  Exact times please: we want to make sure what you are submitting is what you got, not what you could get with work.

What still bugs me about this is the definition of arbitrary though.  Seriously, Final Egg?  Casinopolis?  It's hardly worth even submitting in those if you only have the DX version.  Why can't we make people hit a checkpoint or something?

I'd also like to point out that Casinopolis lacks finite, ordered checkpoints. Also the fastest method to beat Casinopolis is possible on the DX version.

PS3 users can't get it, and it's unfair to expect someone to buy a 360 and then the DLC just to compete in a game they have.

As of now, afaik me, fke, and shizzlee are the only ones here with enough followers to get wind crest and thus be the slightest bit competative in Sonic. Really, to be perfect, you need 1.5x as many followers for a few levels, and 2.5x as many for one level.

This is why people like Flying Fox are only submitting to Gawain or Lancelot or Percival - they take a TON less time to be competition ready. So by having less charts we'd have barely any competition.

The main reason SC charts are a good idea is for entertainment value for all, and everybody can play how they wish.

You can play as you wish. Nobody is forcing you to use shortcuts - you can still submit Non-SC times to TSC. They might not rank as high, but thats because they aren't fast enough to rank high. But if you enjoy competing without shortcuts, especially on a level like Final Egg where it is obvious who used a shortcut and who didn't, go ahead.

Look around the forum.

This is the major topic of debate recently, and right now most if not all of the mods/admins are against this.

Since I have better things to do and I'm sure someone will do something detailed later, I don't want to go into the many different arguments against this idea, but I'll just put out one reason why this won't work: what is it that is considered a "major shortcut"? Is superbouncing in Crazy Gadget a major shortcut? Phasing through a gate in SSR? Skipping a fight in SU? Getting a precise SDJ to skip a platform in near any game?

SBK was thought out well but far too short.

Actually, SBK was a terrible idea with pretty bad execution. There are redeeming qualities yet not nearly enough. And if anything, the game is too long and tedious (especially with followers), not too short.
