Always nice to see a new face!
And be sure to check out the subsites (TUSC and TMMC) and all! You might like them if you like the emerald challenges!
Welcome to TSC!

Gaming and Grazing / Re: The TSC Gym Challenge Fad thing! (Planning)

I see you have only 7 people. I probably could do a flying gym, seeing as my emerald has a load of LV. 50s.
First I have to complete the game, though.

I hope your TA,RA,SA, and everything else knowledge is better than your computer knowledge...
But welcome to TSC!

For a ten-year old, you actually seem pretty well-informed on how to act.
If you haven't seen the Rules topic already, check the rules.
For some reason, I have a feeling you're going to do extremely well here...
But welcome!

Nice to meet you! It's always good to see a new face around here!

B] Other than Minimal A/Swaps, these can all be proven with a picture.
I'm personally against using using a picture as proof, because any advanced picture editor can create almost any scene by editing several pixels. There also is still the dispute that it's WAY too wide a variety of challenges. There are dispute over what counts as what.
I like the idea, but the basis doesn't meet the subsite guidelines.

MAYBE if you tweaked around with the idea and knocked out the kinks, it would be more worthy (it's a great idea, but this type of thing is probably best off staying in the competition threads).

RPG and mike have a point. Eventually, people would bring up completely stupid things, and something like this might happen:
"I like the Minimal A Challenge you made!"
"<Insert some method of Thanks here>"
"Why don't we do a Minimal B challenge?"
"<Insert reason here>"
"Still, that's not a valid reason to disallow the Minimal B challenge!"
"If a bunch of people like you came, the site would be flooded with charts and we'd run out of space for them"
"<Insert whining here>"
To make my point more clear, people will be swarming with challenges they want to do, and some will be so stupid, you'd want to have them b&. Also, there is a large amount of dispute that could be created about all of the challenges, and there are too many challenges falling under one similar category for n00bs to point out.
I'd like to remind you too large a genre of challenges fails to meet the guidelines. I think this site might fall under that.
If it passes, however, I'd love to compete and maybe even help with the site.

I didn't think Minimal A or Minimal Swap would be good because of possible miscounting.

I'd personally agree, because as we all know, a lot of people come here and think it's okay to "remember" a stat without checking to make sure. Also with Minimal Swap, we'd have to decided whether passing through a "formation gate" counts against you, along with bobsleds, where you immediately become Fly.

I'm personally against 2p rings because there'd be a lot of dispute over SH, and by having a second uncontrolled player, it's mostly the same as regular RAing the level (Mainly SA2). Also brings up the point that with some people not having a second controller, 2p mode is disabled.

But everything else appears fine. (except that maybe Fast 1up wouldn't work everywhere. I'm pretty sure every stage has a 1up box, but I'm not confident)

I believe that if you submit a stat like 2, it will replace your 999, even though it's lower.

« on: June 02, 2007, 11:53:12 am »
Welcome to TSC!
If you submit a stat, it must obey the rules and be displayed on the "stage complete" menu/stage select menu.
In other words, you must have completed the level with 999 rings otherwise you can't have the stat.
EDIT: I know RPG just said that.

Another problem.
For me to compete in Shuffle, I'll have to be allowed to use Versus to play in the Mini-Games, because my stupid memory card isn't working, which I wouldn't allow. So, um, ya.
But I'll still give it my vote, because it is worthy of competition.
And maybe I can use my VBA....

Just don't cheat, use any tools, hacks, etc., and don't just create a time to get in the lead. Almost 100% percent of fake stats are deleted, and a fraction of those are announced in the forum, resulting at half the people lecturing you, and the other half criticizing you.
So um, yah. You get the idea. Be an honest guy, and you get a good reputation (after several years <_<).
Welcome to TSC!

Does the Mario Party Series include MPAdvance? That's the only one I have (and I pwn at it). Otherwise, I want my vote back.
But I'd be interested in a lot of those games, I just don't own them.

General Sonic / Re: The Olympic Games
« on: May 23, 2007, 04:00:37 pm »
Well, it's true that we haven't seen anything about the games, nor played it, but personally, it seems rather...stupid.
I mean, Olympics? At least make it something more interesting, with a more unique style of play.
At least all those Mario vs. Sonic people get their wish.
But Mario+Sonic equal bad. If Sonic is going to be slower, doesn't that ruin the main reason to play the Sonic games?
For those of you so negative, just pray that it isn't goofed up down to S1GBA standards.

But on the plus side it exposes people to TSC and speedrunning in general; didn't Judgement appear after seeing some adv2 vids on YouTube, for instance?  That may be my ego wanting to take credit, but I'm sure I remember something like that.

That's how a lot of good people get here in the first place.
BlueArremer (Who might've been able to dominate some of the competition if he/she stayed longer), Judgement, and some others.
Another plus is we can feel more superior to people on Youtube than on TSC (because people at TSC like mike89 and RPG are too good for us to be cool).

And since I'm posting:
http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=SpeedofSilver

Plus YouTube is a large community, and easy to find something you like in.

And yes, a LOT of people I've seen there need to come here and show their videos.

And why do I feel this (sort of) long post about to be criticized?

Are you another lurk-while-submitting-stats-then-say-hi-later type?
Anyway, welcome to TSC. Don't act like an idiot, or do something that doesn't seem normal or a good idea, and you'll be fine.
Mainly, stay on topic.
With all the bla-de-bla done, welcome!

General Sonic / Re: Favore the Sonic Advance games!!!
« on: April 11, 2007, 05:16:43 pm »
For me, I always thought 2's level design was annoying. I go one way, and come back the other.
The bosses in Advance 3 are pretty darn sweet too.
And Advance 3 presents the most opportunity for challenge.
Advance, well, I'll have to say one thing about it.
Up to Egg Rocket, the levels are breezy.
Egg Rocket is a big headache,
Cosmic Angel has an annoying boss,
and the X zone is my biggest migraine.

Hey there dude!
Some quick tips:
1.Read the rules for competition thoroughly
2.Don't post BS stats
3.Don't bump old topics
4.Never steal RPG's catchphrase in this forum. Not anymore...
5.Read the Constitution
6.Use the modify button
7.Don't do dumb guides
8.Being a newbie with sense is better than being a senseless Spaceship User.

Leaderboard Disputes / Re: Secret ring in PH1?
« on: February 14, 2007, 03:46:54 pm »
I think he would have to have missed 4 or 9 or 19 for dug-up ring to make it one ring off. Which is not likely. Though I don't compete in SA2, I play it, and I'm pretty sure there are no groups of rings he could've missed that would cause a total like that.

Or gain serious momentum and jump to skip part of the loop.
Though the on-top sounds better, as I don't think a jump could push you that far.
