That's right, the game is called

SONIC CHRONICLES
The Dark Brotherhood

full version of pic - http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/5471/sonicrpgnpdo9.jpg

    * In game graphics have a water color look, all hand drawn. Full 3D battles, 2D backgrounds for non-battles.
    * 4 party members at a time
    * Each character can do certain things ex: Tails can float over things (standard stuff)
    * 11 party members total - 7 known are Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Rouge, Shadow, Big the Cat
    * Control done fully with stylus - think Hourglass
    * Able to split party into teams at certain moments. Navigational puzzles confirmed. (use Tails to reach a high place, smash a rock with Amy's mallot, etc)
    * Rings are used as currency
    * No random battles, enemies are seen in advance. (however battles still take place in a different zone)
    * Turn based battles. Commands are chosen for everyone in your party before they actually follow through, supposedly done to make the battles "feel" fast-paced and hectic.
    * Elite Beat Agents type special attacks
    * "Fatigue Points" instead of MP
    * Choose which attributes to increase when you level up. (you can make Big the Cat fast, make Rouge the Bat stronger, etc)
    * Purchase and level special attacks
    * Bits of story - Sonic's on vacation from defeating Eggman 2 years ago. Gets a call from Tails that Knuckles has been kidnapped by a group called the Marauders, and that 6 chaos emeralds are missing. Eggman not the main villain. But Bioware wants to make him a creditable bad guy again. Something about a "twist" between Eggman and Sonic that goes back to the earlier games.
    * 2 acts - first takes place in standard Sonic areas. 2nd takes place in a darker world which parallels the normal world
    * Remixed clasic tunes, as well as classic stages like Green Hill, Mystic Ruins, and Emerald Town (???)
    * "fully animated cut scenes"
    * You can choose what to make Sonic say, usually being able to choose from the first thing Sonic would normally say, or choose to ask for more information, or bring up an attitude for humorous results.
    * Development staff claims to be surprised at wealth of info and backstory in the Sonic universe and are eager to bring that out in this game.
    * They intend to make a deep compelling story and to make the player feel an emotional bond with the characters.

What? no

I was always a newschooler

Green Hill = antithesis of my Sonic likes

Just like I think it's bull that all Sonic does in Brawl is spindash, but I like everything else about him.

City Escape and Radical Highway are both good alternatives. Very Sonic-savvy AND more unique for Brawl since Brawl is apparently short on city stages. (Melee only had the crappy Earthbound-themed stage after all) Using Sonic for city stages is a win-win.

Flying Battery and Death Egg are good too since they're more "original" as choices and would just be cooler. They would both be great for remakes since after all when remade they would be like kickass newschool Sonic stages. But it should be Death Egg the stage in general, not the boss arena, since the boss arena was just a plain room. But the act 1 boss would be killer if you ask me. But as far as gravity stages go, I would prefer Hang Castle and imo the music would be perfect for the game as well.

If you ask me, instead of picking Green Hill they really should just pick Wave Ocean or Kingdom Valley. Although Kingdom Valley might get lost in all the castle-themed stages in Brawl it would still rule. White Acropolis would be fantastic but would clash with Snake's stage. I'd also think Flame Core and Crisis City would make good arenas. (all atmospheric like a Samus stage) Radical Train would be neat except then I think the only way that would work is if it was on a moving train, and that would kill it.

I am playing this Sonic 2 hack (Emerald Hill at night, Boardwalk zone? hot) I believe I got from here. But I can't find the topic for it to save my life. I'M SORRY!!

I wanted to post to say how cool the hack is. And also to complain because I lost all my lives in Boardwalk act 2, all in the same place. That was really cheap, I should sue, wth were you thinking?! whoever made it

here's what you do. When you get through Tails's part, take Sonic back up with the purple gem and go through Tail's part all over again, as Sonic. In the last Tails room, you will not only find Tails standing there, but Sonic as well!

When I found this, the 2nd Sonic was dead and had yellow shield on. :D

Looks like Sonic got to meet his past self after all! :D :D

whooooooooo

(now time to count how many people already knew about this)

edit: OH SNAP if you touch Tails this way, you play as him again! The door is locked though so you have to fly all the way back. There's no point to that though, since that's the end of the act. aww :P

Guys I'm leaving. I just can't take the abuse anymore. Not just from you guys but at home, too. My life is in shambles and I just don't have the time to compete anymore... it's not just that but I feel like I don't have any room to do ANYTHING anymore. And I'm so sick of constantly being isolated just because I'm eccentric or awkward in social situations. And not just here but in real life too. Maybe I'm just an idiot after all. I just don't know what to do anymore. I was trying but I just took the last straw:

I have accidentally deleted Paint from my computer.

Enclosed is another cartoon I -was- working on based on RPG's Radical Train run, but now I can't finish it. As you can see, it's incomplete.

Like my life.

I don't know, maybe if I can just solve this, I can start picking up all the pieces. But right now I'm at my breaking point. I feel like I'm completely helpless sometimes. I just don't know what to do... without MS Paint.

update: I HAVE FOUND MSPAINT MY LIFE IS PEACHY AND DON'T WORRY I AM HERE TO STAY

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR HELPING ME GET THROUGH THIS ESPECIALLY ROLKEN

Wikkity! / So I downloaded Sega Rally 2006 soundtrack...
« on: February 08, 2007, 03:47:24 pm »
..from here:

http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/3831

And I was really enjoying it as it's a really good soundtrack. Well at least most of it is. Classic style Sega vg game music. Some of the songs are amazing. So anyway I was listening to it and I noticed how many of them are fit to be in a Sonic game. In fact some of them sounded distinctively like Jun Senoue. So I thought, did he make the soundtrack? Couldn't have... right? Anyway I abandoned my train of thought for lunch but I come back and realize that a couple of the songs are in fact tagged with his name!

Specifically:
03_break the emotion (hot!)
08_Blast from the desert (Sonic Heroes-ish! hot!!)
16_beat of my heart
27_Blazing

hurhur "blazing" :D

top secret jun senoue tunes! enjoy

(plus some of the songs are credited to Richard Jacques. Oh and the song "Ignition the 2nd Generation" isn't credited to either but it rules it's a kickass remix of a song from Sega Rally 1)

[split from this topic]

If every once in a while sonicandamy or someone else posts one or two records without copying and pasting the whole thing, I think that should be fine. The next person can just edit them in.

(sonicandamy - I didn't add your Iblis 2 time in my post on accident, sry) :P

btw everyone, that Silver surfer glitch is some OFF THE HOOK shit. I have to wonder who came up with that. Although tbh I have no idea how to control it so I'm not TA'ing those stages.

also I had a great idea... I make a seperate save for this game in which I only get the good gems for Sonic... that way I can save time selecting them in a stage. Good idea right?? Plus I'm sure it crossed someone's mind to do this. But I might get a memory card just to do it. :P

But wait... I suppose the only necessary gems for Sonic are the blue, sky, and purple ones.

But yellow gem is good for score/ring attacking. I think.

And what about the red one. I never use it. Is it good?

the green and white ones are completely useless

If only I can make multiple saves. How would I do that?

OH I GOT IT. I would make a save with none of them and buy only the ones I need for a stage, and never save.

Sega revealed this week their new title Sonic Hater Adventure, which is apparently designed to appeal to long time critics of the series. "We have finally decided to listen to the foolish hypocrisy of these gamers, who have given up on our franchise a long time ago." said Takashi Iizuka, as he narrated the demo. "We want to show with this game that we really do care about our loyal fans, who we have shamefully turned our backs on until this point. I hope that in this game, every one of their trivial complaints has been addressed."

In Sonic Hater Adventure, Sonic, an obnoxious and reckless short chubby blue hedgehog, uses his supersonic speed to defeat the menacing Dr. Robotnik, while still finding time to get in a chile dog or two. The game takes place on a planet called Mobius, populated by many generic bubble-headed furries who live in straw huts, and Dr. Robotnik, who is bent on conquering the world and covering the natural landscape with morbidly colored factories and cities designed for robots. The environments are a savvy combination of fantasy and cyberpunk, and are designed by legendary european landscape artist Verddun Mahieu.

This may be startling to some, considering that this game turns around design decisions made since the first Sonic, including the world the game takes place, and the name of the villain.
"We knew we had to change if we wanted to reclaim the interest of the boring westerner." said Mr. Iizuka. "American gamers have different perspectives than Japanese gamers. They want everything to be as literal as possible."

The game is slated to feature a modest cast, including one new character named Ashley. Ashley is not playable, instead he serves as Sonic's navigator. He doesn't have any outstanding traits, he is however a level-headed and balanced character. In the demo we played, Ashley helped us guide Sonic through the training stage, and explained how to use the game's unique camera and Z-targeting system in the game's 3D segments.
"Sonic is fast, but very precise to control" Iizuka noted, as he demonstrated using the shoulder buttons to adjust Sonic's speed. "The challenge comes from navigating a series of platforming challenges which steadily increases in difficulty as the game progresses." We were told that about 70 percent through the game, Ashley will have taught you all of Sonic's moves. Supposedly, the game begins to let go of your hand at this point. "At a certain point, you will have to complete the rest of the game on your own, but you would have the controls mastered. Completing Sonic Hater Adventure will be a very rewarding gameplay experience." We have confirmed that the Chaos Emeralds can be attained in Sonic Hater Adventure. We're told that they will increase Sonic's abilities and unlock a new ending, adding replay value to the game.

Other characters to make a return include Amy, who incidentally is renamed Sally Acorn. She has undergone a personality change as well. No longer does she actively chase Sonic -- she is now more reserved and shy. Sonic also apparently has a romantic interest in her as well, and even asks her out in the game's story intro, which introduces the intimidating new Robotnik who captures her before setting the forest on fire. It is at this point that a group of freedom fighters, including Sonic and Ashley, decide to rescue her and defeat Robotnik's reign of terror once and for all, without ever thinking about how he could exist as the only human on the planet. The story is expected to have at least one betrayal and the death of at least one minor character. The tone of Sonic's new adventure is much darker and more serious, but it does not have guns. Sonic's only asset is his speed, and a trusty shoulder bag in which he carries his rings and other various items. Takashi Iizuka closed:
"Sonic Hater Adventure marks the return of Sonic as a respectable creative work."

Sonic Hater Adventure is due to come out this fall for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. It's release coincides with the release of the new Sonic the Hedgehog, which is a spin-off release designed to appeal to a less mature market.

In other news, Square Enix announced the release of Final Fantasy 4, named so since it is being touted as the true sequel to the USA release of Final Fantasy 3 (Final Fantasy 6 in Japan). Square Enix made this move to finally restore the number order to the USA line of games. We have little other information about Final Fantasy 4 so far, but Square Enix showed off this concept artwork of the main character, who appears as a bald, gun-toting Pole in camo. We'll keep you up to speed as Square Enix reveals more information about this bold and exotic new direction.
