General Sonic / Re: Have you ever met a fellow TSC player?
« on: December 12, 2009, 06:56:17 pm »
I didn't even respond to this myself. How silly of me.

I met Cybrax back in...'06? When I moved to Georgia. We played Smash and I met a Smash player named Wes because he was impressed with my Sonic "skills"

Cybrax lives about 45 minutes-1 hour from me now, though I haven't seen/spoken to him since then :P

How on earth do you get the wall glitch in PC1 to work consistently? I just can't do it.

Being a competitive gamer, I always consider the community that I am a part of to be another family of mine.

I was just wondering if any of you had ever met each other before? If so, who was it, and how did you go about this?

I don't have anything in particular locked in my mind. I see some vids, though, which is something that I didn't have access to before. I might consider doing some stuff. Doubtful.

Radical Highway 3 is basically my signature mission. I've always wanted to keep that record. I'm not posting another one until I get sub 1 minute.

Nice to meet you, Paragod. You're really good.

I haven't heard anything from Cybrax since he graduated high school lol.

If he's in the same location, he's only like 45 minutes away from me, though.

I bought a wii with the intention of Brawl, but I mainly got it (at the time) for NiGHTS and Super Mario Galaxy

I won't be playing wifi. Too much LCD-TV like lag. I can't play like that, I hate predicting my own moves. Sorry guys.

Once I move my TV upstairs to get wifi, I'll post my FC.

Also, just finished unlocking everyone! Time to get good.

Falcon's emblem is posted. If Captain Falcon is not in this game, either one of his levels or another F-Zero character is.

I'd like to put my 2 cents in, if anyone wouldn't mind:

NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, gets a 7.5/10 from me.

The graphics were sub-par, they could have been better. The movie-cutscenes were outstanding, but gameplay/normal cutscenes could have been very much improved. The main thing that saved the game for me was gameplay (the part that matters), the music, and the fact that I think this game can go competitive. People say that one can go infinite score. I've tried this, and the timer counts more towards your score than going through rings does. Also, it's very difficult to not beat the level and keep your score chain going.

I love this game, it will keep me occupied until the release of Brawl and probably even more afterwards. The bosses were annoying (some of them, others were mad fun) and the game overall is a very very fun game to play.

I feel, though, that Sonic Team could have easily made this a far better game. I could have waited until next year without any complaints, because it could have used some serious work. Without the help of Yuji Naka, however, I feel that the creators of the game did very well in making the gameplay what it was supposed to be.

Like I said, gameplay is awesome. If you care more about the story/graphics, it sucks. Otherwise, most other aspects were very very good.

About the Team Blast Glitch: I had nothing to do with it. I merely tried to exploit its usefulness in Boss Time Attack.

I did, however, discover the superbounce, although I never told anyone about it, so I guess that's why I'm not credited with anything. That's fine, I guess I deserve that much.

The main thing I have an issue with is that I did not, in any way, contribute to the discovery of the TBG. I just don't want credit where credit isn't due

I didn't mean to attack you such as you say, even though I may have seemed that way. My bad, I say. I just don't like the idea of a tier list that doesn't include every character in the game, because they're not announced. I have SERIOUS issues with whatever douche bag made a 'tier list' on smashboards as well, although I'm not going to post on there, because nobody gives a rat's ass about my opinion. I'm just a lonely GA smasher, yet to rise to the occasion in any way.

17
Where'd you get that tier list?

From my own head and the reports of other people.

Quote
I mean, I understand your reasoning, but there should be NO tier list at all until the game comes out and all the unlockable chars. have been taken into consideration. For all we know, Captain Falcon is going to destroy everything this game has ever known.

If you believe it's alright to say I'm not allowed to speculate, you're the last person on earth to say "Falcon may destroy everything". Though I understand you're not serious, you can't criticize -me- for having fun and speculating how playable characters are, and turn around and provide a hypothetical example. The argument "you can't speculate becasue you don't know" is entirely invalid because that's the POINT of speculation. People speculate who will be in Brawl. Why is that ok, but speculating the playability of characters isn't?

I'm glad this thread got really big. I'm currently about half and half on the subject. If any of you want to find updates, there's a thread from a guy called Gimpyfish on smashboards. He's the best Bowser in the nation, and he's been playing the game daily, giving updates and such. It's a really good topic if you want to know some stuff about Brawl so far.

I read this topic every update. I know who Gimpyfish is. I based my v2 tier list thing a lot off Gimpy's second update.

Quote
Once again, tier lists? This early?

I never said that this was the conclusive tier list. I never said we had to abide by this. I did say that I was merely having fun and speculating.

Quote
We don't even know who can come close to PARTICIPATING in the tier list! Sorry, it just makes me mad.

You've made it quite clear that any speculative thinking in which there is a shortage of information (or even when there isn't a shortage of information) upsets you. Why did you make the first version of this thread?

Quote
Tier lists are for n00bs anyway.

Correction: Playing a character because he's high on the tier list is for noobs. Ranking how good characters are is not for noobs. I'll have it be known I quite enjoy playing Donkey Kong, who's fairly low on the tier list to begin with. I don't use the tier list to play. I enjoy reading he tier list to see which characters have advantages and why. Does that make me a noob? Really?

That's the thread. Enjoy

You just repeated yourself about 3 times in the same post...Wow. I'm not making any future predictions for this game solely for the purpose of getting a 'YOU GOT OWNED' because I'm not very popular to begin with, my reputation has very little to take before it's completely trashed.

You responded to my post as if I've posted about 9 times. 'You've made it quite clear that...' Yes, I made myself clear. You don't have to tell me that twice. I get it the first time. Don't talk down to me like some scrub who doesn't know what he's talking about. I'm sorry if I made you feel like I was doing that.

With that, I'm going to leave this thread. Most of the people that are talking about Brawl are ignorant anyway, and that's after looking at all the Brawl threads. Smashboards reminds me of Gamefaqs, some good players, but the rest of the community doesn't now what the f*** it's talking about.

Death Egg Boss Arena.

ftw.

Imagine gravity switching in Smash and all the havoc that would ensue.

Yeah, I can't wait for Pokemon Stadium, what with the gravity on -that- stage being lessened /sarcasm

Green Hill, no questions asked. I could see it like a level such as Mushroom Kingdom, where you can just walk off the edges, but there would be stuff like trees that could bar your way, with springs on the top that you can't see, assuming that could POSSIBLY (hint?) be an item yet to be announced

Rayku, let them have their fun.

But I don't wanna.

BTW, Peach got UPGRADED if anything. SRSLY

You guys want to play with me? I'm always game for a good game of Smash.

Depending on the wifi quality, the farther away people (like England folk) might not be able to play as much. I hate lag...

Yeah, my friend had my spare card. If I don't get too involved in Smash these days (I made my first profits of $2 yesterday, w00t) I'm gonna play Sonic in my spare time. I think it sounds like a good idea at the moment. Peace, all

Well, the problem is I spent like 400 hours on that game. I wouldn't want to compete by beating bad records, it just doesn't feel the same for me. Right now, Sonic is my last priority. I only wanted my m1 record for RH back, then I was going to leave it alone again. I'm into Smash a lot right now, what with Brawl soon to come out (June, I've heard) and DDR becoming only easier as I play. Oh well, I'll see some of you guys later. Bye

Yeah, I was about to play some Sonic for the first time in forever, and by accident I went to 'Delete' instead of 'OK'. So now, all my data is gone, I'll probably never compete in SA2B anymore, doubtfully any other sonic game as well. I know not many people care, just thought I'd let those competitors know they never have to worry about me sneaking up on them. I was going to get my Radical Highway back, but I guess that just happened.

I just seriously showed up my friend at Pokemon yesterday. He was talking crap about me, so I said 'Alright, I'll fight you' so he gets in and says 'no legendaries'. I say 'Oh shit, all my non-legendaries are on XD'

I beat him with 2 pokemon that were both rare-candied all the way to lv. 100, that's how much he sucked. And he did use a legendary, he used Suicune because he meant no uber legendaries, so I just owned him with a Gardevoir with straight Psychic attacks and a Kingdra. I laughed in his face...

I wish I had some way to make videos. I'd put up a Radical Highway/Final Chase one because I know some people want to see those. Also I'd probably put up some Route 280/101 vids. *sigh* I hate being poorer than dirt and not able to afford anything...

It makes me both mad and happy that I see my name around random forums either because they want the name before I get it or they just like me. I feel famous hehe.
