Title: Splitting Team Blast Glitch
Post by: Rolken on August 25, 2004, 11:13:04 am
Unless anyone has a final injunction, let's go ahead and switch the Heroes TBG to Freestyle.

However, I don't want to just switch it over and ditch everybody's times, or force them all into freestyle. So ITT, say which levels you used it on (if any), and the others will be kept in regular rankings. If you don't know what it is, it's a fair bet that you didn't use it, but say so anyway to avoid having your times shunted over.

They'll probably not be finalized for a few weeks so everybody has time to move their stuff; I might send out an e-mail bulletin to the less-active members, too, since there's some insane number of Heroes players.

Wow, didn't expect this would happen. Anyways, I used it on...

Robot Storm   Team Dark
Egg Emperor   All Teams (I think)
Metal Madness

But my times stink anyway :P

Yay, you are splitting it. Thanx Rolken, now I have the urge to compete in SH again.  :)

Thank you.  :D  The new rule has given me a new found motivation to compete in Team Dark times and all boss battles. One question, does Freestyle count towards ranks or is it purely for recreation?

While we're completely altering the way games are ranked, let's see SA3 unidivision.

As for my Freestyle times, I don't think I have any.

EDIT: Scratch that, all my Egg Albatross times are, Dark Egg Hawk, Robot Carnival, Metal Madness... and that would be it.

My brother's are basically all Dark Extra and boss. I think he began to extend into regular Dark too - anything that's close to or on the record should be moved.

Also 200 posts. ^_^

I used it on none of them. I still don't know (or care) how to do it.

The team blast glitch is while in flight formation, you push B+Y (safest method) or B+X. If you do it right, your team blast gauge builds up really fast. Its not worth doing because it causes a nasty noise that's just plain irritating to the ears. None of my records are influenced by the glitch.

All blank SA3 comments have now been changed to "Sonic + Tails", so make that one step closer.  All in favor of the switch, say 20; all opposed, say 1.

Well, we could just have both a Sonic+Tails and a universal division.

I haven't used the glitch.

OK, back on topic please...

I'll add a SA3 unidivision too (if _ doesn't first, anyway), but throwing out the Sonic+Tails division is a bad idea after all the work put into them.

(I know you said back on topic.. but...)

Quoted for validity. See also;

[20:21] <Joe> dale hes summiting uni devision times now
~~~
[20:22] <Joe> me and mike are doing the same
If this is true, then these times need to be identified and deleted. Or we identify them, leave them and move them into the unidivision. I'll make a topic in Leaderboard Disputes. Unless it should be in this forum so that more people see it. Cause we dunno if it's only Joe and mike who have been submitting them.
Note that that was a direct reaction to a number of other players submitting unidivision times. Uni-division-ers of note include: shadowgamer, RedXevious (come on, Ocean Base Boss...), my brother, gbagcn (these are some of the top SA3 players here... unfair advantage?) and now sonichero and I have joined them to even the score.
Also why are we keeping a S+T division? If S+T is going to be the prime combination for a fair percentage of levels anyway, why split them from everyone else?
In the case where it isn't the optimum combination, it will mean all the effort put into getting S+T times down will be wasted when said time can just be obliterated with another pair.
You are all in defiance of the rules and your times will be deleted. Ugh. What were you THINKING?
Anyone who posted times against the rules has 48 hours to say which of their times are illegal or they're all getting deleted. I am not kidding.
They're very easily identifiable, I posted which combination I used for each one of my times. I think I have... 4 times in violation, let me check that... EDIT: Wrong, it's 5 =P
Sunset Hill 1
Route 99 Boss
Ocean Base Boss
Chaos Angel Boss
Altar Emerald
Since times achieved before the current time are listed, they should just be reverted back.
My sunset hill 1 time was done using sonic and tails (not tails and sonic or any other team). If my time is in danger of being removed I will post my strategy for the level so please don't remove it. Who is allowed to remove times anyway (is it just Rolken).
In regards to the team blast glitch, all Team Dark time attacks, Team Dark Extras, bosses, and Team Chaotix ring attacks should get top priority for inspection to determine if the TBG was used. For example, in the Egg Hawk battle, it takes about 12-15 seconds to reach the area where you can start inflicting major damage on it and I'm certain that its impossible to naturally fill up the TB gauge and still get a good time. With Egg Emperor, it takes about 30-32 seconds (assuming you get all the level ups along the way) to get to the area where you can damage it.
