Title: Tips for running the 2D games?

So,I've been wanting to run the older games for a while.But I am....well,not very good at it.I would greatly appreciate any tips for running Sonic 1,2 and 3.Any tips for S1-2013 and S2-2014 would be amazing,as I am focusing on those two right now.Thanks guys.

Should have mentioned that for S2-2014,I plan to run using Tails.

I don't think there are any tutorials for the characters of Sonic or Knuckles for Sonic 3 & Knuckles, but I could be wrong, feel free to PM me if you need any help though.
Sonic 1 2013 and Sonic 2 2014 strats are largely similar to the original games strats, but without glitches. However one notable difference in Sonic 2 2013 is that as Tails in Oil Ocean Act 2 you can fly over the boss, which saves alot of time.

The important thing is to be able to spindash quickly to go fast, which just takes alot of practice. If you keep practicing, then you'll get the hang of speedrunning the games, it just takes time.

I've not gotten around to update S1 or 3 yet but most of the general stuff still applies. Watch runs for routes.
