I've had just over a week now to understand what can and can't be tracked properly in this game and I believe we can start setting up charts. First a little run down of each Category:
Times: In story or "normal play" mode there's only a countdown timer, and when you finish the stage it disappears and adds onto the score so this isn't a feasible way of tracking.
There's a "Time Attack" mode which should be used to obtain all Time records in this game as it tracks your time and also puts it on the global/national leaderboards if you're connected to the internet.
Rings: There are alot of them but there shouldn't really be any restrictions right now. I haven't come across any rings that respawn yet either. There is no tracker on the stage menu, though.
Scores: nowhere on the HUD is score tracked. The only place you see your score appear is at the end of the stage, but that's an accumulative score across the entire game so these can't be tracked.
Animals: Some people might think this could be tracked but if you die, all enemies and capsules re-spawn so you can gain infinite animals (unless there's a max such as 999 then maybe they could be tracked?).
Windy Hill:
Act 1: Times, Rings
Act 2: Times, Rings
Act 3: Times
Act 4: Times, Rings
Desert Ruins:
Act 1: Times, Rings
Act 2: Times, Rings
Act 3: Times, Rings
Act 4: Times, Rings
Tropical Coast:
Act 1: Times, Rings
Act 2: Times, Rings
Act 3: Times, Rings
Act 4: Times, Rings
Act ?: Rings
Frozen Factory:
Act 1: Times, Rings
Act 2: Times, Rings
Act 3: Times
Act 4: Times, Rings
Silent Jungle:
Act 1: Times, Rings
Act 2: Times, Rings
Act 3: Times, Rings
Act 4: Times, Rings
Sky Road:
Act 1: Times, Rings
Act 2: Times, Rings
Act 3: Times, Rings
Act 4: Times, Rings
Act ?: Rings
Lava Mountain:
Act 1: Times, Rings
Act 2: Times, Rings
Act 3: Times, Rings
Act 4: Times, Rings
Hidden World:
Act 2: Rings
Act 3: Rings
Act 4: Rings
I shall update this topic if I find anything else out, and of course feel free to add to this list where you see fit.

There could be charts for that if there's a rule along the lines: "You can't die during the stage" or something like that because I believe that's the only way to respawn them.
Also what about the circus stages?
-
Just a thought maybe do the same with scores for example:
Animal Divisions
* Animals must be attained in a single continuous run (without deaths).
-
Circus' are always random each time you go into them. There's only around 5 or so types, but you can never be sure exactly which one you're getting.
-
In score attack you can gain more points by action chain(the Unwiished combo).
So if it's going to have scores charts:
As in Animal charts, you must get the score in a single segment(no deaths to get more points in homing attack combos). Not tested yet, but probably this happen or not(the infinite score).
Edit: Werey already said about Score.
-
Scores: nowhere on the HUD is score tracked. The only place you see your score appear is at the end of the stage, but that's an accumulative score across the entire game so these can't be tracked.
I hope you read that rafael. Also incase you didn't understand since you -r first language isn't English, the scores are counted to a big score for the whole game instead of separated stages.

No, I skipped that. Changed now.

The last boss Sonic's attack and some Eggman attacks remembers Sonic Colors, includind when you finish the boss (the fires w/ the face of Eggman).
-
Before last boss, you will face a stage in Lava Mountain where you will face three of the Deadly 6. And there's a stage with a long grind section before end capsule(I don't remember the zone). Informations from my brother.
-
And how does this connect to Colors?

And how does this connect to Colors?
I don't know how to explain. You should check in Youtube, please.
-
I've played Colors fully, and nothing like that ever happened.
EDIT: I've deleted all my off topic posts. I encourage Rafael to do the same.
-
Seriously guys you need to stop this. This topic is for the discussion of SLW chart making, I have no idea what you are talking about but it doesn't look like chart making to me >_>
Plus Thorn says since he can't look at this topic because of spoilers he has handed me his ban hammer and I am free to swing it at you guys.
-
I'm sorry.
I know this got a little out of hand, and it's my fault for starting it.
I apologize.
-
I'm really sorry. I'll remove and modify my posts, as possible. Back to Lost World, my brother found a video showing that Super Sonic is in the game.
Edit: Now it's back the 1 ring lose per second. Generations failed about this, only for comparations.
Edit: In my lastest posts, I told about the stages and bosses. Now a possible chart.
-
There's also the secret '?' zones: they lack a time attack mode, but Rings (and animals) should be fine.
-
I overlooked those because I don't know if each world had one or if it was just those 2 or 3 that unlocked.
-
Just making sure as I really want to start on doing these. I'm guessing RA's would be done under normal mode since that shows your ring count at the end and TA mode doesn't yes?
-
Seems good to me, as does RA being in Normal Play. As for infinite rings, I believe the glass balls in the tube levels pay out 3 rings per ball for as long as you want. May be mistaken because I can't really be bothered grinding to 999 >_>
-
Hidden World:
None of these Acts have trackable statistics in the HUB world, Nor do they have Leaderboards.
What about ring charts for them?

If that is true then that could be a pain to RA. However, this has made me think of the SCD rule with the angel statue. I wonder if the same rule could cover the glass balls. Reason: infinite rings come out of the statue in SCD, but you're only allowed to touch it once since the general rule about rings stops you from collecting another amount (I guess). Since I believe the glass balls come out of the same place then surely it is the same thing as the angel statue. If so then maybe the rule should be:
Rings Divisions
* In Windy Hill 3, you can't destroy a glass ball more than once
Needs better wording I think. I can't remember if there is more than one spawning place for the glass balls I would have to look, but what do you guys think of this?
-
Honestly for the sake of consistency (ala Colors/few Gen levels) I would take those levels out of the Ring charts instead of making an exception :/ Idk though.
One a side note, how are there actually spoilers in here o.o Literally just zone names

The ring counter doesn't stop at 999.

I don't know much about Colours or Generations (except that a new rule was added to the rings division) but I do know that when there's a time limit we track infinite things. It looks like we'll be using normal mode so the results screen will show what rings we collected and that has a time limit. So imo WH3 should be tracked but with a restriction. Also not to mention TSC has inconsistency throughout it's charts/rules/whatever so might as well try and do what's best :/
-
Makes sense now that you mention the time limit :P I guess let them in with the exception, see how it goes.
The ring counter doesn't stop at 999.
Also this, totally missed it :P
-
And about Super Sonic? I'm just wonder about this...
Edit: Sorry, but it's not what I mean. I mean about charts.
-
Super Sonic wouldn't really offer much more to the stage. It's just the exact same thing except finding the 50 rings first
-
Any Idea when the Charts will be up, I'm ready to submit some stats. Unless you guys are still discussing the rules and all. If the charts are going to be as they are proposed above. that would be great. you guys take your time though
-
We're not ready with the charts yet.
I just found out that this game has items like speed shoes and rings I think. Would we be using these for competition? I still haven't beaten the game yet.
-
It depends, FF. If yes, them should be separate( or the word I don't know )from times, as Generations, or not. But is it unlockable or is there these already in the stages?
-
The items can't be used in Time Attack.
-
Considering how random getting the items is (or at least seems), I wouldn't suggest it anyhow. Also you only get one chance at using whatever item you get. I vote no.
-
Rallying for no items. Pointless complication really.
-
Updated the first post, added Rings charts for Hidden Worlds acts 2/3/4 (1 has infinite rings) and the Tropical Coast/Sky Road ? stages, plus removed the Rings charts for Windy Hill 3 and Frozen Factory 3. I think the way to go on these charts is not tracking stages with infinite rings, not tracking animals, and banning items, though that's not set in stone.
Anyhow let's wrap up the discussion sometime soon so we can get these charts up!
edit: Rules:
Times - The game's Time Attack mode is to be used for setting records.
Rings - Using an item in normal mode voids your stat.
-
I said it to you in your stream but again I'm totally okay with what we currently have going. Should be clear at least chart number wise now that 100% files have been properly looked at, the rest is rules and where people stand. I think it's safe to say the ban on items is agreed upon and the less infinite ring marathon stages the better.
