What is your favorite level or zone from any Sonic The Hedgehog game?
Mine is the Hill Top Zone from Sonic 2!

There's a lot to pick from, but since I can only pick 1 i'd say Emerald Coast from SADX.

For me, it's gotta be Techno Base in Sonic Advance 2. I have gratifying recollections of playing through the zone repeatedly back in the day, getting a kick out of the creative music, artwork, gimmicks and level layouts. It's still enjoyable to pick up my DS and play through the zone nowadays (preferably using Sonic, whilst wearing headphones and playing in a dark room for an optimal experience).

Oh god don't make me choose. It's easy enough to pick a favorite from each game, but from the whole series...
I'll say Meteor Herd from SA2. I actually play that level when I want to relax, if you can believe it. I love how the vertical scale of the stage is so massive, yet you don't get hurt from falling and there's no bottomless pits unless you get OOB. I love the music too. If someone made a mod where you had to collect every single possible piece location in the level, even without hint monitors, I'd play it. Repeatedly. My # of times played count was so skewed towards it for the longest time.
If it was my favorite level to speedrun I would have said Final Chase.

This is a difficult thing for me to answer...I know what stages are NOT my favorite (any Casino based stage, almost any winter themed stage)
But, I guess if I HAD to narrow it down to one I'd say Sky Canyon from Sonic Advance 2, despite the fact that a lot of people say it's one of the worst Sonic stages ever haha

Hyrdrocity Zone, because it's a mix of fast and slow segments, and they're not too much of a pain.

You’ve made a wise decision there my friend; with the exception of Techno Base, Sky Canyon stacks up above the other zones in my book. I don’t know why some people particularly dislike it, but there you go. In my opinion, however, Sky Canyon beats Egg Utopia by a nose hair (and the rest of the zones rank up neck and neck for me). :)

Definitely one of the most memorable zones in the game for me. It is, and alwas will be, awesome. :D

I think Sonic Advance 2 is just a masterpiece of a game in general (though I don't care for Music Plant honestly.) The only reason why I haven't started trying to run it yet is that it feels like it has such a high skill floor, and I don't think I'm prepared for it yet xD Techno Base is definitely also a rad stage!

It's not actually that hard to speedrun, trust me. The game just takes some practice to play well, but I guess the same goes for all Sonic games. Why the hate for music plant? :( ... XD
Anyway it's great to see someone else who shares my deep passion for Sonic Advance 2! ^_^

Fun fact: Sega used to make slot machines and jukeboxes a few decades ago. Their inclusion of casino levels in games could very well be a shout-out to the company's origins.

I'm gonna be honest, I enjoyed playing 06, I should probably play it more, I didn't think the story line was that bad, I also liked it that you could be a lot of the characters, and it wasn't a tiny game with three stories and a final story, so yer, I'm planning to speed run it in the near future.
Also I think Paraxade likes 06 from the way that he's so awesome at it.

Wow; I was already aware that Sega produced arcade games before they began developing games for home consoles, but I never knew that they actually manufactured machines as old as (no offense but it's true) slot machines and jukeboxes. I did, however, know that Nintendo started off in the early 1900's as a playing-card company, but it's cool to learn about Sega's roots. :)

I feel like it's more difficult than other handheld Sonic games, mostly because if you stop moving for even a second you lose SOOOO much time. And Sonic's air dash makes my thumb hurt after like 2 stages >.>
And I don't like the music plant 's design or theme, I dunno xP But, it's boss is my favorite in the game!
I'll get around to trying to speedrun it someday, I'm too focused on Sonic Colors DS at the moment though.

Tell me about it! I'm kind of accustomed to it now, but after some intense speedrunning I often have to give my poor exhausted thumb a respite from the fierce dashing action. XD

Mine is Ice Cap zone from Sonic 3 (& Knuckles)

Every level in S06 except for Crisis City and (sometimes) Radical Train.
I also like Frog Forest in Heroes.

I'm at a three way tie between Crisis City from 06 and generations. then eggmanland from sonic unleashed (PS3)

If I were to pick out a classic, it would have to be Hill Top Zone from Sonic 2. For the later games, it's a tie between Sweet Mountain from Sonic Colors and Crisis City from Sonic 06.

i think my vote has to change, I love the gameland stages for sonic colours, the remix for the music is amazing

I'm actually not a fan of Crisis City, found it to be a bit bland, along with Flame Core. Those levels don't compare to Wave Ocean, Radical Train, Tropical Jungle, or Kingdom Valley imo.
I also have to add in Apotos from Unleashed and Aquarium Park in Colors.

Got to be city escape SA2, love the level and i can play that track over and over again.

Rail Canyon (Dark) SH. Especially when Omega explains how to grind at the beginning. And... well the whole level in general.
