Title: Help from anyone who owns Mario Kart: Double Dash!
Post by: formarfan on July 17, 2004, 11:03:02 am: I can't beat Star Cup Mirror Mode!!! What character combination works??? I am now trying to get the Parade Kart to beat it with. I NEED Petey and King Boo!!!

I never found it hard at all. It took me 3 days of rental to unlock everything, while hardly trying or sitting down for hours at a time......but, to get on topic, I found Wario+Toad in Wario Car is good if you're experienced, because you can pin your opponent in place with explosions and then dash away with Toad's special, but if you're not experienced, Toad+Baby Bowser in the GoGo buggy is good enough. Keep Toad as Driver while your ahead, and launch Baby Bowser's shells to the people behind you, bursting ahead if Toad gets a special. If you are behind, have Baby Bowser drive, and then cover a lot of ground with Toad's mushroom. And mirror mode is just the track in reverse mode, making it easy enough to learn.......and just to tell you, Petey Piranha and King Boo just have random specials, making them unpredictable and unreliable.

Post by: formarfan on July 17, 2004, 04:20:21 pm: I unlocked them, now help on Flower Mirror and All Cup Mirror. Oh and thanks blueblaze I'm not experienced and it took 2 tries to win it with Toad+Bowser Jr.+Goo-Goo Buggy.

Off-topic: Man, if guests could see this they would probably want to post in it.

Anyways, I prefer to have a medium kart. If you do have a light kart, be sure to have the Bullet one. Cheap as.

And all the cups are easier when you are playing 2P co-op. I find it so much easier concentrating on driving when my sister is able to throw the items so I don't get distracted by that.

However, a good tactic to learn is this. When there are two single item-boxes, and you can drive through both, hit one, hit Z, and then hit the other box. It'll be just like getting a double :D That could help you. Items are sometimes handier than you think...
