This league will be 6 weeks of normal competition followed by 2 weeks of finals, starting Monday, March 31, so long as everyone seems ready. Details for the finals are to follow.
Each week, there will be a selection of a number of 2D levels, and a number of 3D levels. You may participate in as many of these levels as you want. Scoring for individual levels will work as follows: first place will always get 10 points. The rest will be determined by the number of players, thus getting 2nd in a level where there are 10 players will be better for you than getting 2nd in a level with 3 players. (If you want more details on specifics, PM me on #soniccenter, and I can tell you individually. If there are lots of people who are curious, I might make another post about it).
For the overall scoring for the week, each person (or team) has a total of “2 levels” for each division (2 2D, 2 3D) that they can submit in. This just means that if you submit for 4 2D levels, each level will be worth ½ level. Thus if you get the following scores on the levels – 10, 8.5, 7.5, 5.5 (total 31.5), those will be worth 5, 4.25, 3.75, 2.75 (15.75 out of a possible 20), because each is worth ½. You can compete in as many levels as you want for each division, and it will be calculated accordingly.
In addition to the baseline scoring, there will be achievements that can earn extra points (beyond the max 40 per week) that can be earned each week. There will be some achievements that will be available the entire time, but there will also be new achievements that come out each week with the league levels for the week. (I am still looking for ideas for achievements, so if you have ideas, PM on TSC or #soniccenter. One thing I know there will an achievement for is competing in a game that you have not submitted a level for before in the league).
Submissions (just a stat) are to be made to me by PM on TSC, or an email to writecrazy@gmail.com. Submissions via PM on irc will not be accepted. through the league subsite (http://league.soniccenter.org/). The deadline for submitting each week is Sunday night midnight PDT. (GMT-7). I will make a list of levels for the week available Saturday night. This is only for the purpose of allowing teams time to communicate. The round officially starts Monday 12:01am PDT, so any times gotten on Sunday should not be submitted. (The purpose is to give teams time to discuss and divide the levels).
Teams get one submission per level, so you choose one or the other to submit a time for it. Each team member must submit to one level each week, but otherwise, you can divide it up however you want.
So continue signing up, and look forward to a post Saturday night with the levels to be started on Monday!

Achievements:
.75 points for each new game you (or your team) competes in (thus you can get this a total of 21 times in the whole league if you compete in every game that is offered)
3 points for beating a TSC Record on a level. (5 points if it's a game with no centiseconds - no points for tying)

One day until league begins! Here are Round 1 levels. Remember, you can practice of course in the mean time, but times do not count for league until after 12:01am PDT Monday. I'm also going to put a list of the games, and how many levels from each game will be in league. (I'll edit this into the first post so it'll be an easy reference throughout). Tomorrow at the precise starting time, I will put up a post with the achievements that will be available throughout the entire course of the league. Levels will be hilighted when they are the last selection for league from a particular game. (Thus there is only one Sonic Rush Adventure level in the whole league, so it is hilighted this week.)
Remember, you can submit as many levels as you want, but you want to submit at least 2 levels per division. Submissions to me via PM on the forums or an email to writecrazy@gmail.com.

Check out the weightings on sitewide. Of the games listed SRA has the lowest, thus it only gets one level. What really dissapoints me is that Chaos, Drift, Drift 2, Sonic R, and hell even Sonic Battle have higher weightings than SRA yet they aren't in :(
I'm sure spinball would be higher too if it were there... :(

Spinball's sadly not competitively viable, so yeah.
I did kinda lol at a few. VV1 in 3D is just funny. (That said, it isn't a horrible level.) That and the 2D selection is pretty anal for me. (I'll do it just the same, but I suck at S1 in general, MG2's not my favorite level, I hate hidden islands in general, I hardly play CD, and MP2's a pain to TA.) Not that I'm complaining, just sayin'.
I am disappointed, though, that the one SRA level isn't even a real level. >_>

Let's see I am able to do SA Twinkle Park with Sonic so that's good. I am just waiting on Groudon to get back to me for what levels he is doing. I then Do the levels he isn't. So let's say he isn't doing Labyrinth 3, so I'd do it (since LZ 3 happens to be a very hated level, but I like to do though for fun so I know the level. Just getting through the boss is hard enough, the rest is nothing.

Sonic R, I asked if anyone wanted in, and no one seemed interested, so that is why I didn't put it in. I personally like that game, but if there was no demand for it...
Otherwise, the games that were included were done so based on number of players, not based on rankings in sitewide.

As for levels that seem like poor competition, if you look at the game list, and have any suggestions for levels that should not be included, you can send me a PM. Please also include justification, so I know it's not just because you personally don't like it. There seems to be a bit of a stir about Twinkle Park and Hidden Palace (I am not surprised as these come from games where I didn't have anyone to consult with). I will consider changing them, unless anyone has real concerns about them being changed before this week officially starts. (You can PM your concern if you'd rather not reply in the thread - concerns to not have to be justified, it can be just that it would piss you off if it was changed, that is reason enough for me not to change it). So let's get this figured out in the next ~9 hours, so we can start this league :D

What? Hey, Knuckles just happens to be the most annoying character to do this with. Lots of strategic glides and some tricks that require one shot to get a good time. And the superglide. <_<
