Title: This topic to be revived on July 11th.
Post by: Azure on February 09, 2009, 03:21:31 pm
Ok, if it's true that six months without mentioning a ban is a way to deserve relief from said ban, then let six months start now. On July 11th, I will revive this topic, requesting to be unbanned.

July 11th is the day before my birthday, so you mods might consider it a birthday present. :)

And we all know I have to get myself back on the charts to SHOW BERTIN WHO IS BOSS.

May I call your attention to this:

This is the stat submission page. This is where you enter your stats.

(I know, this may be a bit over your head. It confused me at first too.)

If you can submit stats in the stat submission, then that MUST BE where you submit your stats, right?

YES, THAT'S RIGHT!

So, if you submit your stats on that page because it is the page for stat submission and that is where you submit your stats, shouldn't that be where stats pending submission are submitted?

YES, THAT'S RIGHT!

Feeewsha. :/

Now that that's taken care of, I'd like to draw your attention to the fact that I am unable to submit stats using the statistical page of stat submission.

In fact, it is stupidity that first removed my ability to submit stats, much like the stupidity present in THIS VERY TOPIC!

So, if stupidity got the ability to submissiontastiacally submit stats using the statistical stat submission page taken away from me, then stupidity should get me out, right?

...

You and I both know that that isn't the case.

So, I'd like to, instead, I'd just like to present you with some statisti--, er, facts surrounding my ban.

1.) I have created two accounts during my stay here at TSC, which are Azure (formerly sonic99189) and Ouchkibibbles.
2.) This "Azure" was a large contributor to TSC, mostly in the area of competition in general. Azure competed for a reasonable length of time, and achieved certain levels of success in the charts, especially in SA(DX).
3a.) Azure was better than bertin at SA(DX).
3b.) Azure is better than bertin at SA(DX).
4.) Azure was completely legitimate in every aspect of competition. Unless, of course, liking SA is an indirect form of BS.
5.) Ouchkibibbles, Azure's alternate account, was completely and utterly illegitimate.
6.) Azure created Ouchkibibbles, and submitted a large quantity of fake SA stats with it, which weren't records, but not legitimate all the same.
7.) Azure confessed his guilt, which led to a ban of himself and Ouchkibibbles.
8.) Azure did time. (Approx. 3 months)
9.) Azure posted a topic in the forum with these statements, and awaited some consideration from teh mods.

It's unecessary (and perhaps a bit cliche) to sit, apologize, and beg for my privileges back, and fortunately, I'm not enough of an idiot to do that. All I will tell you is that I really like competing here at TSC, and, on the grounds that what I did was an idiotic mistake, I feel that perhaps you'd like to reinstate my privileges.

I didn't really understand that beginning part about the submissions page. Also, I think that would take alot of unnecesary work on the administrators part. Making seperate charts for illegitimate competitors is ridiculous.(I think that is what the first part of your statment was about) They shouldn't have to make new charts for banned users. Although some banned users get don't know the rules, alot of them took the time to read the rules. It is very clear that banned users should not be able to compete or receive a special way to compete(thats just rewarding bad behavior or not setting down a real punshment) In my opinion, you have been banned because you commited two offenses on TSC. You made a second account and submitted fake stats in it. Your going to need to prove that that big mistake was an isolated event and won't happen again in adition to getting the mods here to trust you to be reinstated. Also, you are definately asking to be reinstated.(Which is most likely pointless considering that there have been too many repeat offenders and too many banned users asking to be unbanned which has really frustrated the mods).

I vote that the one rule for unbanning is, the user who was banned needs to go six months without mentioning said ban.  <_<

I say AYE for this method. Would the same thing go towards SonicFan? Since he submitted fake times once like Azure did.

I agree with this. It sets people straight. If you keep quiet about your punishment and not complain for 6 months, we may think you can be unbanned. I don't see any foul-ups with this method.

Last time I checked, people aren't unbanned here for the mere act of waiting. They have to consistently prove over time they're not going to be a moron in their submissions in some way.

and also, six months from now is august, not july >_>

I also disagree that waiting is an appropriate response; you don't bail a criminal of his prison sentence if he waits 6 months without asking to get out.

Really I was being sarcastic when I said this was a good idea, I just thought it would be an amusing way to torture Azure.

6 months of proper conduct with occasional examples of legit stats given to mods, perhaps? I dunno.

I would consider anyone to be reading this topic or the title of said topic to be reminded of your desire to be unbanned.

Ergo you lose.

I also disagree that waiting is an appropriate response; you don't bail a criminal of his prison sentence if he waits 6 months without asking to get out.

Isn't that a close approximation of the parole system?

(I agree with RPG and others above who have stated that this isn't going to help in any way, I just wanted to take issue with your analogy :D)

IT WAS A JOKE.  HONESTLY.
I was making a sarcastic note that, since pretty much EVERY banned user has created a topic asking to be unbanned, the logical conclusion is to only unban them if they DIDN'T create an unban topic.  I didn't mean to create a serious discussion to make that one condition the entire word to whether they're unbanned or not.
Though I AM pro to making this one (not the only) condition.

You mean as in make them think by not asking, they think they will be unbanned, but in actualy fact, they wont :o?

So someone like Sonicandamy would wait six months to find out with out mentioning a ban, and hopes to get unbanned, will not be unbanned?

Under normal conditions, I *might* have used this as a standpoint to argue for Azure's return to competing ... except he's already long gone anyways, so the point becomes moo.
so instead I hereby propose that werster be returned to competing

"Night Knuckles" does sound familiar, give me a couple hours to Google think of where I've heard of it.
