Now that's pretty useful. Not that i'll need it ._.

Charts updated. I had screwed up a few things here and there before, but I guess that's what happens for rushing the job <_< Regardless, all should be well in these fresh charts.

If anyone who decides to use these finds anything wrong with them, let me know.

Nice, but you still forgot about SA2B Bosses :/
And in SADX Red Mountain you put charts for Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, when it should be Sonic - Knuckles - Gamma  :P

Good catch, Jawzun. Fixed.

Perhaps it would help to add totals, like (http://soniccenter.org/sm/files/times.ods) these (http://soniccenter.org/sm/files/times.xls)?

Also separate worksheets are pwn.

I hadn't been sure how to handle times in Excel, so that had made totals a difficult concept at the time. Although I feel these charts are lacking without them, my main goal was to make an efficient, uniform archiving system for personal stats of all TSC games. I'll work on reformatting the time columns now that I know there's a method to do so, and will look into implementing totals again.

As for the multiple worksheets, I had considered it, but decided on an index in the end. If people are interested enough, I could make a version that uses multiple worksheets.

After a sleepless night's effort, this should be the final version. I gave the whole thing a major cosmetic overhaul, added some color coding to the divisions, gave every last game a totaling system, fixed a few minor errors I came across, and made it easier to navigate. I tried out putting things on separate worksheets, but couldn't decide on a good way to break them up. It would be easy enough to implement, though, if someone has a sorting system in mind.

As a side note, it appears the formulas I used for totaling aren't entirely compatible with older versions of Excel, though, along with a handful of conditions, so no compatibility version :/

You ain't done yet.  You need a .xls file.
/me would be bricked, but some Linux users will agree

I would, but as stated above, there's quite a few compatibility problems in this latest version between the two formats; it breaks several formulas and almost all of the coloring when switching to .xls. That's kind of annoying, but there's not much I can do about it at this point, unfortunately :(

So use .ods! The Other ISO-Approved Standard(tm)!

SM: That's why I was asking for .xls - so OpenOffice could use it.  But, IIRC, even Office 2007 can't open .ods yet, nor can it save them.

I just downloaded OpenOffice a few minutes ago to experiment, and it was able to open excel 2007 files (Maybe it was just added recently?). Anyway, it still fried most of the conditional colors, but the formulas seem to be working just fine.

WHUT./me checks OpenOffice website
FINALLY.
Nice timing, Auriman.  According to the press release, OpenOffice supports MSOffice 2007 files as of ... last Monday.  No really, October 13th.  Nice find, I've been waiting for this ... well, since MSOffice 2007 came out.

You know how I said the other was the last version?
Thanks to my borderline-obsessive-compulsive personality, I lied.
See here (http://www.soniccenter.org/forum/index.php?topic=3795.msg39807#msg39807) for the latest version and preview snapshots.

Significant changes:
-All games are now on separate worksheets. Reason: maintenance of such a large database on a single worksheet was hell, not to mention it wasn’t the most user-friendly interface, upon reflection. The index is still present to make navigation between worksheets more convenient, however. You were right, SM: “multiple worksheets are pwn”
-Compatibility problems with Excel 98-2003 and OpenOffice have been fixed. This was done by getting rid of the garbage conditional formatting in favor of more traditional coloring methods, and breaking up formulas with over 30 variables into multiple values, then adding them together.
-SADX Sky Chase 1 and 2 scores have been added
-SA2B Time, Ring, and Score totals have been fixed, as they had been completely wrong. I don’t know what had happened there.
-Sonic2 Sonic and Knuckles totals have been fixed.

If anyone finds anything wrong with this latest version, let me know as soon as possible. I want this to be the defining standard of recording TSC stats off-site.

I also apologize to anyone who had started using the older versions of the archive. I should have been able to produce a quality database product right off the bat, without all this floundering about. I guess I’ll just think of this as a learning experience of why it’s important for me to thoroughly test any programs I make before releasing them to the public.

Speaking of programs, I put off three college programming assignments to make this over the past week, and they’re all due tomorrow. Oh shi-

I'm currently going for a degree in IT Computer Programming/Analysis :)

We're covering Visual Basic 2008 programs right now, and we'll be learning some Java next year. I might eventually do some independent study on C/C++, as well, since it seems to be the standard in coding for emulators and third-party games.

Looks like my pen-and-paper method of recording stats off-site just became obsolete.

...

Awesome!

(If you remember my trusty notebook, good on you. If you don't remember or weren't around, play TSCA - there's a reference to it in there.)

yeah... I just scribbled in all the stats I've gotten since my unb&

totally beats the lots of pen-and-paper work I was doing...

very much kudos for all the time spent!

mike TSCA no longer exists. The link to it on TSC is dead, remember?

And I don't believe RPG kept any copies of it anywhere >_>

But yeah I will be picking this up for the sake of convenience. Even though I'm mostly idle on TSC.

Charts Updated (http://www.soniccenter.org/forum/index.php?topic=3795.msg39807#msg39807)

11-26-2008 Changelog:

Workbook level change:
Seconds occasionally displayed incorrectly in time totals under certain conditions, which had to do with how hundredths/thousandths were carried over (ex: 82 instead of 22). Given it didn't affect the rest of the total (it still carried the minutes over from excess seconds properly), it was only a minor cosmetic issue that escaped my attention during the testing period. Fixed.

Worksheet level changes:
Advance2 - Added Boss divisions
Sonic06 - changed time slots and totals to manage thousandths
SSR - Skeleton Dome: Mission 4 score enabled
STT - Sunset Park 2 scores disabled
Sonic3D - Disabled hundredths in times division

For current users of the TSC DAW, here are some quick fix methods:

--To add the Advance2 Boss divisions, copy rows 80-128 from the new workbook, and insert them into the old one accordingly. Make sure the rows line up properly with the new version to ensure consistency with any future updates.

--To fix the seconds display error, substitute column K in every worksheet with the corresponding column K's in this new workbook. Timeframe: It should take less than 15 minutes from start to finish, if you're quick with the copy/paste work. I couldn't find a faster way than that, I apologize :[

--To change the totals for Sonic06 to handle thousandths properly, copy columns K through O from the new workbook to the previous version, then adjust the width of column F to provide space for three digits.

--To disable/enable cells, just re-format the individual cells accordingly; the totals will automatically adjust. For Excel users, remember to lock/unlock cells where appropriate.

So far this is coming along great, but I have a request for you. Could you make a version of this for TUSC at some point?

I've finally got around to getting the latest version of this and have begun entering all the site records for the sake of archival. Since there's no site record total on-site (which I've said would be a good addition for years) this is an ideal place to calculate it. (I used to use SM's times.xls for this purpose.)

I've attached what I've done so far so that people can help me out if they feel like it. I've done up to SA2B so far, but I'm going to sleep and will work on it again tomorrow. You can also download it if you're curious on the totals of the games that've been done so far >_>

I suppose the least I can do is make a few much-needed updates.

1-6-2009 Changelog:

Added Unleashed charts for Wii/PS2 and 360
Heroes: Added Special divisions
SPA: Added Special divisions
Rush: Added Special divisions
SRA: Added Extra divisions
Minor edits in locking cells

Edit: Heroes scores removed

I've attached the yse's site records archive with these updates. I'll try to implement a master total calculator later, but I'm a little short on time right now.

That's a very good question with a simple answer: I assumed both Unleashed versions would track time the same, and didn't double check. <_<

...Fixed

Well, guess I'm sinning, sorry :/

Wouldn't it be wise to make an update for this? New games have been released, and I wouldn't mind making an update if people would want one.
