Title: I call BS: SuperSonic94
Post by: Jawzunx on September 12, 2007, 03:55:07 pm
He's using an infinte lives code for his Sonic times in SA(DX)
For example: he told me that he restarted at last check on Emerald Coast around 350 times to get 1:02.86. and around 150 times on Windy Walley to get 1:17.75 (same for other levels such as Ice Cap, Red Mountain, Sky Deck, Lost World)
And general rules say gamesharks or similar cheat devices must NOT be used
I used an infinite lives too, but when the general rules were updated I resubmitted my times without the code (only 4 lives).
If I'm wrong, and the infinite lives code is allowed, tell me cause I want my Icecap and Red Mountain records back.

If anyone still says infinite lives are just okay and don't affect gameplay at all, they're retarded.

I'm fine with 99 lives & such codes, because you -could- achieve it in normal gameplay, but infinite lives codes themselves should be banned. SM has to dig up lives to get his superlow hunting level times, so why should this guy get any more?

Oh, that is what SM does... don't really know what to say here :( My opinion is mixed with different types to levels.

You -could- possibly achieve any of your times. Does that mean we should assume you didn't achieve them in reality?

Clearly conflicts with the rules.

The problem with infinite lives is all that is needed is for one to get at any check and if one messes up you just die and restart there without worry of running out of lives resulting in an infinite number of attempts until one achieves desired stat. In a way it's just like a save state.

The checkpoint = Point saved

Infinite attempts = Infinite lives = When using save states your ring count, scores, and lives are the same as when you saved at the desired point resulting in infinite attempts.

Why can't people tell what "No cheating devices" mean?

It should also be noted that this player has been banned twice under past usernames (admittedly, the second was for ban evasion).

Hello, I need to know if the infinite lives estan allowed, in the rules does not say anything on the lives…, I already that it is an advantage for which they as much do not have it, since those that have it can reinitiate infinite times, but in GC as in PC version it is easy to obtain it…

PC: Sonic Adventure DX PC Memory Editor v2.00 BETA
GC: I dont know (I do not have a GC ^.^)

So please, dont ban me because not if this this allowed to use it…

Thanks.

PD: Some administrator, send a message to know if this this allowed…

Gamesharks, similar cheat devices, and ROM save states must not be used, nor any functions on the emulator, such as slowing down the speed of the game. Frankly it doesn't make for much competition.
