I thought a lot of people don't want to download the videos from the site, are too lazy to or just too stupid. >_>
So I made this thread for people to post their YouTube accounts here, that the youngsters can watch and learn.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This is not a good idea.

Put simply, given a part of what makes TSC what it is is the general intelligence of its members (with a few notable exceptions of course), why would we advertise ourselves to the number one cause of idiocy on the web? Half of them can't comprehend a "speed run" without calling it cheating for crying out loud.

Youtube would be so better if it didn't have all those lame community features... People would post videos plus description and that's it. No horrible comments or anything. Oh yeah and if uploaded videos didn't have such an awful frame rate would help.

Getting to start watching a video straight away is nice, but it encourages laziness and people only expect to have to watch videos on Youtube nowadays. This is awful, do yourself a favor and watch videos at the quality they're supposed to be in.

But yah, teh pr0s should get their vids here, much better that way.

That's how a lot of good people get here in the first place.
BlueArremer (Who might've been able to dominate some of the competition if he/she stayed longer), Judgement, and some others.
Another plus is we can feel more superior to people on Youtube than on TSC (because people at TSC like mike89 and RPG are too good for us to be cool).

Youtube is alright and it is cool to have some good groups like the TSC Group :O
I do prefer hosting them on other sites. If they are small enough, I will host my videos on my own site (mostly hosting Monkey Ball videos). If they are a little larger I will upload them to a freewebtown.com account. You get a free GB of space and you can make, like, as many accounts as you want >_> So it is pretty cool...

Not really. Go check their archives at youtube. You get noobs joining and submitting crap for that group like a 3 minute run of Leaf Forest 1 lol.

For one, this "idea" is not new. SM made a TSC youtube group months ago and it  didn't really hit off. Many people joined, but it was just an overall mediocre situation. Not really a bad idea, it just wasn't that hot.

Anyway, as to whether youtube promotes us or lowers our level of standard is a pretty stupid quesiton to me. The whole point of the internet is that it brings people from all over the globe together into a community. OF course, youtube is full of the 4 minute burping 8 year olds and low on the quality stuff. However, there are people that genuinely look to see the quality stuff. If TSC videos are posted on YouTube, it promotes the playing ability of the group and eventually recruits good players (like previously mentioned Judgement). The downside to this is that it also invites the plenty of others who haven't played a sonic game in their life.

Anyway, Youtube and web 2.0 in general provide a way for amateurs to thrive and eventually become professionals. Allowing the best of TSC to be displayed and inviting those with similar skill levels will be good for the community.

I do think,  however, that there are those obvious downsides and it depends as to whether or not one wants to invite the crap to TSC or not. I know I wasn't great when I started (I stil aren't >_>), yet I quickly got better. I wasn't obnoxious and egotistical, though, and I know plenty of those will come from Youtube. I think a great idea would be to post the youtube accounts, but not -advertise- that we are from TSC. This way, clickhappy idiots won't end up joining for the hell of it. If some one genually inquires via private message and seems nice, go ahead and give them the address.

The whole thing has its upsides and also its downsides

Upside:

1)More people which would mean more compition and maybe some awsome players.(This is towards TSC)
2)Would help some people who cant see these videos(like me).
3)Would make Youtube WAY better(well hopefully).

Downside:

1)Well this is possible-noobs posting BS times and stuff like that.
(Again towards TSC)
(Well this is all I can think of)


Oh and about how I got here in TSC I dont remember

I guess you are talking about "Pokemonmaster888"? He isn't a TSC member though he is a great Sonic Heroes player. Not only does he have a lot of maxed ring charts but I think he has some World Records in boss levels and some very good times with some other levels. I know for sure that he visits here because he gets information that is mostly discussed here and not CS (such as new maxed ring charts). I think he has some good Shadow records, too. I'll contact him cause I have been wondering for a while why he never joined here.
