"The Sonic Center" is a tacky name. We reached this concensus long ago, and even had a name change topic, which was lost from the various server switches. Nothing was done. Plus, Rolken doesn't have enough to do. So, let's try again.
I'll suggest some names so everyone else can shoot them down and propose their own. No hard feelings.

This topic has gone nowhere. No more name suggestions. I weeded the valid suggestions from everything, and will attach it in a poll to the original post. The 'Other' option means that they all suck; if the majority of people vote for that, then pm me what you think the site should be called. Serious messages only; all subsequent pms from anyone "messing with my mind" will be deleted on sight.
I'd like some input from Rolken, so we know if he'll do something with the results. The answer is probably no...but a B for effort I suppose.
Edit: I didn't realize that I'm not able to add polls to existing posts. So I guess I'll just list "plausible" name changes, based mainly on length and common sense, and everyone can indicate their preference via pm. No need to clutter the topic; real posts only. Either that, or a mod could attach a poll to my existing post.

I suggest something like"Sonic Elites" or something else that displays our status as elite Sonic players.

GreenHill <-- No, despite that being THE sonic level, it doesn't represent all that we do.
Sonic Time Dome <-- "Hey, you should totally join this place, its called STD." Plus "dome" just doesn't work.
One Second Less <-- We are more than one second less than most people. Plus a second is a lot of time for most levels.
ClockStoppers <-- If we were a Sand Ocean or Cannon's Core based board this would work. NEXT.
FirstAct <-- We don't just to 2D. Plus what does the first act have to do with anything?
SonicSpeed <-- At least the other names sounded okay. This just sounds like bad grammar.
Eggman Empire <-- Someone remind me how that has anythign to do with TSC...

I say stay with TSC.
1] It shows that we are about Sonic, and we don't use a generic time attack name.
2] It is broad enough to cover everything we do.
3] It sounds just fine to say. Its initials don't stop people from coming here. [See - Sonic Time Dome]
4] It is the classic name. People on this board always say classics Sonics are better (which I object to), so why not stay with the classic name?
Edit: Sonic Elites doesn't seem so bad either. That would be my 2nd choice.

I like sonic speed, and sonic time dome (just to piss sonic cage dome off) from the list, I couldnt decide which I like better though :( so eh.. someone else pick for me out of those two.

First things first: I really like the name "The Sonic Center", it´s only flaw (that i can see) is that it does not tell that this site is mainly about playing the game, and playing it on a high level.
So what about "The Sonic Competition Center", or just "Sonic Competition Center"?
Advantages:
- Its more specific, it says "Okay, we´re here to play Sonic games, not to read fan fiction or talk about the comics".
- It´s got the word "Sonic" in it, which many of the other suggestions don´t, making clear what it´s all about. Also this increases the chance that someone might get here over google or something.
- It´s pretty close to the original name.
- It´s not already used by another site. There is already a Sonic-related site called "The Green Hill Zone".
- I don´t know any disadvantageous abbreviation for TSCC, unlike with STD :-)
- It´s not bound to a specific 2D or 3D Sonic game.
Disadvantages
- It´s longer than the original name.
- It´s different from the original name, which might confuse people. Obviously this is a flaw of a name change in itself.
These are all i can think of right now, there might be some more negative things to it but i can´t see them at the moment. Also, reading the topic again i realized that i just re-stated lots of the things already said by Ring Rush. Too lazy to edit them out. :-)
Also, out of the suggestions i also like Sonic Elites the most, except that it sounds... well, elitist :-)

It only says traffic should be managed if North Korea starts nuking people. Which is what we call a "joke". While we don't want the place swarming with idiots, we do want good players to come here. Also Sonic Time Dome is either 1) implying we're associated with SCD or 2) childishly poking fun at them at our own expense. Neither is a good idea.
I call stay as TSC but put a subtitle on the front page along the lines of "The Premier Sonic Game Competition Site" or something.

Eh, TSC4 won't come for a long time I presume, but I still agree that there is no need to change the name. The Sonic Center, as simple as it is, just works. No need for extravagent names. The Sonic Center is simple. We are the centre for Sonic. Unless you want to make it more obvious and say (The) Sonic Compeition Center, eh that sounds worse, scratch that. but TSC just flows, I say leave as is.

lol what the hell goes in a "the sonic center" mall? paper and hard back guides and dvd and blue-ray videos of our runs? then again maybe a few people would like to see the fastest skeet strom record holder in action. ;)
but really selling speed run video's and guides is not a bad idea (ah, what am I wasting my time for this is never going to happen)
EDIT: ah, yes and have a little department for SDM where people come in and give him the emerald challenge runs, and if they pass they get a lil plastic chaos, super, or master emerald. cough drop department anyone?

Here's my opinion (and I'm obviously in the delusion that everyone cares, thx anyway) The Sonic Center sounds a little like some generic Sonic site that would be just as much about the fandom and art and Satam and crap than it would be about time attacking. So changing the naming is a reasonable idea, although we don't have to.
And as for the names like "Time Up" and "Time Over" they only imply time attacking, not score and rings which this site also has, but THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. It's fashionable to have non-implied encompassing names. Besides, we all know time attacking is the most emphasized aspect here.
Act 1 or Act One sounds better than First Act. In any case it's a good name even though the 3D games don't have acts.
Probably the best name is something straightforward. There's gonna be confusion no matter what unless it has the word Sonic in it. After "Sonic" we should just say what this site is about. Sonic Rankings for example.
