I know this sounds like a bad idea, but why not? I know this site is for Sonic game players, but how about look at a different clintelle. The number of people on this site isn't a lot. Heck, right now only four people are online. We need to get a rep going around people! I know you all will ask, "This site is for Time Attack competitions". Well, there is a forum and chatrooms, since litirature won't kill us, let's throw in stories from all of us. Please think about this, okay?

Fan fiction attracts a level of immaturity that I'd like to steer away from, and doesn't really fit with a competition group.
And even if it did... there's plenty of places that do Sonic fanfiction already. What's the point of TSC doing it?

If you mean create a section of the site (possibly under Media) for stories, I may direct you to http://soniccenter.org/zinged.php and suggest you don't use the login box again.
If you just want to contribute something, go ahead and post it in General Sonic, but don't be surprised if the reaction isn't as lofty as you were expecting. Or you could take part in an interactive story (http://www.soniccenter.org/forum/index.php?board=112.0) that's currently under construction.

Well, it certainly wouldn't kill you.
You're not the first person to think this was a good idea - the thing is that TSC doesn't need fifty active users every day to be successful, especially if 45 of them were in this fanfiction group which, as Rolken states, are not the type of people we're getting to compete at TSC. (For the record, there's actually no less than 30 people in the chatroom (http://www.soniccenter.org/chat) right now...)
While you're here, I feel the need to direct you to this topic (http://www.soniccenter.org/forum/index.php?topic=1878) - it regards the use of the Team Blast Glitch in Sonic Heroes. If you've used it, state on which levels/bosses so the charts can be cleaned up.

Oh no, not more fan fics. Often times, they're full of immaturity, horribly cheap recolor/knock-off characters, or stuff thats just wrong on a cosmic level. Trust me, I went here from gamefaqs just to escape the horror of it all. Speaking of which, I assume you all know of my stance towards awful fan characters. I'd like you all to meet my latest new creation to protect TSC from immaturity (the stuff I've talked about earlier in this post) that spills from other Sonic sites; Slayer the Scarlac Pit Robot (I can just imagine that thing drawn into a jpeg file.
-How does Slayer work? Whenever a bad fan character threatens TSC with its presence, the mods can simply toss it near Slayer. He'll grab the offending character by the foot with its tentacles and drag it towards his mouth. What will happen is that either the character is destroyed quickly by Slaya's blender like mouth blades or (if it feels sadistic) dissolve the offending character in its acidic stomach for 1000 years. To deal with awful fan-fics, I've placed a giant flame thrower in Slayer's mouth.

There's always the Chaos Sonic forum if that's what you're into. I don't like fan fictions in the least, but I look there once in a while to see who's creative and who regurgitates the same crap that everyone does.
Every once in a while, there's a good fan story that blows around the Sonic community. I wouldn't be the one to work it alone, though, as chances for success are slim (kinda why I stopped Sonic 2 modding for a while, was afraid of making a bad storyline / character palette).
