Something tells me this 255Loner guy doesn't have the right to use our vids. If he does, shut me up now, else let the flaming begin.

I just reported all of those as "Other strong reason" with a comment about stealing without permission or giving credit to the original author. I suggest everyone does the same.
-
Can do (EDIT: Done). I've been watching the Who's Online page for a while, and Rolken saw this topic too; he'll probably back you up.
-
Have you contacted the member? If not, you should definitely try to clear up stuff with him first so he doesn't do it again.
He isn't taking credit, thankfully, as he calls them a "world record speedrun" (probably not true as those times might have been beaten :D) but he still isn't giving credit/a link to the place where it was originally hosted.

Yeah, and many people think he's the one who made the runs.

^A user named Omochao made sure to make a comment on the Green Hill vid that it wasn't his (dunno if F-Man is Omochao). The users should know.
-
That was me. I used to go by many usernames on other sites.
-
Hm. Well, I dunno what to say, other than that the guy still shouldn't be hosting those videos without permission from the respective recorders.
-
damn, has this happened before?
whats next, stolen guides?
I dont think he was in the wrong, but not giving credit where credits due is a problem.
-
It's happened with SDA, and they exploded when they found out about it.
This is the first I've heard of it here, though.
-
I just checked the site again, and now each record vid's description is followed by "courtesy of soniccenter.org's speedrunner ________". And the Green Hill vid disappeared entirely. w00t publicity for the site, and credit where credit is due. World keeps on spinnin'.
-
still no permission from the owners though, but that's the problem of the owners of those speed runs and I suggest that you back off this and enjoy the publicity of this website and your speed runs. :)
-
Hi everyone im new here. I was at gamespot.com seeing the speed runs of SA2 and read from "speed runner from Soniccenter.com"
Also, it's nice to know that those vids at GS are giving us some publicity. :)
I get the feeling this'll be the most effective Beef topic in a loooong time...
