Title: Question about glitches
Post by: PsyBorg on December 29, 2005, 06:05:43 pm
Could you use a glitch that gives a player an advantage in a boss record? I know one in Shadow the Hedgehog, and I want to know if I can use it.

Depends what it is.

Common sense applies at all times. If you are unsure about the legality of a method, you probably shouldn't be doing it, or at least check with someone (on the forum or in the chat room) before you submit.

Well,  I know from experience that occasionally, on the Egg Dealer, Eggman might shoot himself with missiles at the beginning of the stage, giving a player an advantage before the timer even begins. That's the glitch, and I'm unsure if I can use it or not.

Sounds similar to a phenomenon observed in the Vs. Team battles in Heroes.  If the battle starts out randomly easier, then go ahead and use that position to your benefit, and if you can manipulate it to happen more often, more power to you.

I've used it on all of my Egg Dealer times, as has SuperSonic101 to my knowledge. I don't really see anything wrong with it.

It's actually not hard to figure out when that particular "glitch" happens.

Okay, I am definitely improving my Egg Dealer times ASAP.

Hoorah.

Not a glitch. -_-

Well... it doesn't SEEM intentional, at least. And there's no actual proof that it isn't a glitch, or at least as far as I know.

Regardless of whether it is indeed a glitch or not, at least he took the time to figure out if what he was doing was legit or not.

I've never heard of this phenomenon before. What happens in this case? In regards to the Egg Dealer thing, how does this work? (I.e. any specific timing to make this weird thing work.) Wasn't there also a similar event in SA2:B (it should be in one of the guides IIRC).

magnum: In the Team Battles in Heroes, the opposing team sometimes tends to kill themselves in the beginning of the battle. That's the only way Rolk has 4 seconds on one of them.

PsyBorg: Yeah, it might be a glitch, or the game thinks that you set off the final missle slot and works in your favor instead of Eggman's or it was intentional... :o

In case you don't know, it's not random at all.

At least it seems that way.

Well, if it isn't random, does anyone mind telling me how it happens?
