Title: Where's the Ring Division in Shadow? :o
Post by: sonicam on December 27, 2005, 01:26:25 am
There's no Ring Division for Shadow. :( Reason better not be cuz it's not recorded, cuz if we'd go by recording, all submissions for the Genesis and GameGear games are void. D:

One of the reasons is that it's not recorded. I agree, that reason is a silly. Not only would Genesis etc. be therefore invalid or whatever, but everyone also argued that The Last Way and Devil Doom should get into the rankings, because it isn't like other games record final boss stats either.

When I said it should be there, I think RPG - though probably others - said it would be a bad idea because it's near impossible to get through a level without being hit. That was quite a while ago though, and I'm sure to be able to get such speedy times you'd need to not get hit anyway.

In fact, I think the fluid ring loss system makes it more interesting to ring attack. Perhaps easier, perhaps not, but at least different.

Someone else said that it would be a bad idea because at least one level has a built in ring limit, that being Circus Park where you can only obtain 400 rings. Well duh, we just don't put Circus Park in the ring rankings.

I am pro Shadow rings division.

You can actually get a maximum of 449 rings in Circus Park :P

Hmm... sounds interesting. However, I don't really get the point. Once the maximum number of rings are reached, well, it's reached. However, this would bring new life to the game, and I would be willing to compete, aside from the statement above...

Potato potato. There's a limit, that's all that matters. It would be the same as having a rings division for SA2B mission 2s, where you can get... 119 rings?

They all have a limit in terms of the time you can acheive too; it's a question of whether it's too easy to reach that limit.

Yes they do, but in Circus Park the Hero mission is to collect 400 Rings, after that's been collected the mission ends and you cannot collect anymore rings, therefore all you have to do is collect 399 Rings and then hit that gong to get 50 Rings and everyone's total will be 449 Rings.
