Title: How do you get these times?
Post by: GravyTrain33 on February 18, 2004, 09:17:49 pm
Okay, when I signed up here I WAS going to submit my SA2 times, but when I was going to, I realized that almost every mission was at least a minute faster than me (minus King Boom Boo)! Like Wild Canyon, 13 seconds?! That's like having all 3 emerald shards right in front of your face! My best time is 59 seconds! Then there's about 50 more I could name if I wanted to.  Could anyone give me tips for the adventure games?

Bingo. On hunting levels, they restart until they get lucky.

It wasn't even all that lucky with piece 2...the combined time for pieces 1 and 3 was under 3.1 seconds, which means it took over 10 seconds to find piece 2.  There are simply no close locations for that one.

The same deal goes in Aquatic Mine.

Any other levels in particular you're looking for?

How about ALL of Sonic and Shadow's levels? 42 seconds for Sky Rail?!

Well, some levels have ridiculous shortcuts that cut half or more of the level out. And that time for sky rail, I think that Green Hill might have Im'd Rolien an altered photo. unless he somehow found a way to avoid the grind rails....

I have seen a video of Cybrax completing the level in 0:45, and that's when I found out that GameCube players have an advantage in that level.

You may know about jumping onto a passing rail after the first checkpoint as a method of cutting some 25 seconds, but the big trick involves jumping onto the nearby pumpkin towers and Spindash-Jumping to cross the gap...and going straight to the top, without having to worry about using the propellor springs to ascend.  However, one of the towers does not exist in the original Dreamcast version, making that jump impossible.

I don't think so.

Ah, Green Hill is way too much of a n00b to be able to alter photos.
