I'm pretty sure I finally know what causes all the low times in Team Two.
If you are attacked and fall off the stage, and restart on the very last frame before you would die, you are able to move around and attack the other team before the four-second animation takes place. The issue here, obviously, is that a similar technique in Sonic Adventure 2 (used for 8"25 mission 2s) is already banned.
Now I can't say that this is what happens in the low times with absolute certainty because it's been such a long time since I got 5"34, and even so, why are there ten such times on T2-Rose, and none on any other team battle?
Let me know the results of any testing you might do to resolve this one.

Since we have a precedent for not allowing it, my vote is aye for bannning the glitch. I don't know why it only works for Team Rose, but I have two theorys.
1. If the very last frame before you die occurs when the top character in flight formation falls into the death region, perhaps the combined size of Team Rose's flight formation makes them fall deeper into the pit than the other teams, which for some strange reason causes the glitch.
2. Its just some weird bug that can't be explained well.
-I'll try to test this later.
-
I say ban it to hell.
-
This is sort of like the issue with Egg Wyvern in Sonic 06. (Glitch lets you get real fast time by sending your foe off stage.) Instead of having two seperate rules for two seperate games, why not have one general rule that states: "For a boss run to count, you must be what inflicts the killing blow on the boss." This rule accounts for both issues and solves any future problems of a similar nature.

I'm with magnum on this one. And to tell you the truth, this glitch happened to me before I came here, years ago when battling Chaotix w/ Rose. I thought it was weird but that's how I got the stat I have now.
-
i say who gives a shit its like what 10 seconds, getting a record in such a short period of time proves no skill what so ever so whats the use of it being there.
-
Yet another good point.
edit:
Okay, looks like you got two options.
(A) Set a ruling that prohibits "cheating" or glitches.
OR
(B) Scrap the division entirely.
My thought, although it would make sense to keep it for the sake of the "Bosses" category (blah blah blah), I'm leaning towards Option B after what Paragod said: he's right, it doesn't involve that much skill.

RESOLVED
New Ruling:
In the Team battles, if the battle ends before you gain control of your team, your stat is void.
You have 48 hours to clear your times out, or I'm deleting all the ones that don't comply.
-
A good ruling. This won't affect any of my stats. I still think a universal rule that requires that the player inflict the final blow is more efficient than two different rulings on two different bosses as the result of a similar issue.
-
I think this is already covered:
"Common sense applies in all games. If something seems iffy, you probably shouldn't be doing it."
-
Yes, but not everybody has common sense (or at least uses it).
-
confirm iffy?
stuff like breaking through barriers or using certain glitches?
its just this stuff that has to be brought forth and discussed with the masses. Also magnum, dont make me do all of the team battles again if the final blow has to be dealt with. Unless you count that 1 member dies and the rest follow, or a simultaneous death where all 3 were hit and fell off.

Both cases count as "killing blows" since your attack was what caused them to fall.

Nobody seems to be fixing their stats on this boss.
-
you know, not everyone who has ever submitted still comes here or even checks the forum. that's why mike is deleting them.

well ok, good >_>

Mine were not subject to a "glitch", though, but it may be argued that one of my times for Team Rose VS Chaotix only got it b/c of a fluke: I killed them instantly. That would probably be the only one of mine that doesn't comply, if not, then one other one for a Team one battle.
-
On the Team Rose Vs Team Chaotix, it is possible for Chaotix to spawn above the water. So as soon as they fight starts, they fall, giving Rose an instant win.
I've seen it happen a few times now.

1) thread necromancy is a *shot*
2) what you described is what this topic was resolving...which is now banned.
