How in the heck do you get 30 seconds as Sonic? I'm stuck with 36:68! What is it I'm missing? What track should I take? Can someone help me please?
-
I'd say 'watch the video', but they've been taken down, so I'll give you a brief description of the route:
SPindash at the start, keep rolling, jump the spikes, jump onto the 'pier', jump spring and roll down the slope. land on the bottom area, run down the slope, jump onto the raised bit of land halfway down, somersault to break the rock then spindash off the platform. Jump into the tunnel in the wall with the invincibilty at the end, spindash out, jump up the 'quarterpipe', jump on the bouncy block, grab the pole that flings you into the air, then hold right as you land on the speed booster.
Sorry, thats a bit vague, but that's a the best I could explain it..

what about air dash
-
Airdash isn't in sonic advance 1 silly
It's only in number two
I don't know if it's in number three, I'm waiting for the official release :)
anyway
Xero, RPGNutter pretty much said it all, so hope that helps!

what about air dash
Well, in advance 2, Air dash is pretty much worthless, as using it slows you down and makes your jump lower. the slight increase of foward momentum does not help you at all, as you can't reach higher ledges, and after the temporary boost, you can hardly move forward at all. And besides that, it's difficult to use. You need to press both directional pads 2 times over the course of 1-2 seconds. So don't bother using air dash.
-
Air dash is in Advance 1, but not ramp stunts. It's useful to regain horizontal momentum after you've stopped or have gone vertical.
-
I thought he meant air dash as in the useless move used in Advance 2 by pressing left and right control pads 2 times within the span of 1-2 seconds. But whatever.
-
That move also exists in the first game.
-
Of corse it exsits in advance 1, mike89 and I both used it in our NGHZ1 time.
-
At least you made an effort with the grammar this time.
But still: Learn to spell!
-
wait
so your saying
that If I push left twice on my control pad, sonic will use airdash?
I never knew that...
if thats the case then...
Its time to pwn my times!!!!
-
Yeah you do that Nintendan.
-
I'll tell you now, the Mid-Air Dash isn't as strong as in SAv.2
-
heh
I wouldn't be so sure Turbos
I managed to get a very low 29 with air dash in nghz 1 with sonic
and I can see me getting a 28:xx
It's just that so many factors of luck depend on whether you get the time or not...
I have a vid if the 29:13 if anyone is interested in seeing it :)
-
Argh, you did that just to spite me, didn't you NintenDan?
For those of you who weren't in IRC that night: On GameFAQs about a year ago there was a topic where someone claimed 29:15 with Sonic. He didn't know about it until that night when I told him of it, and now he's beaten it by 0:02. Just so you knew...
-
lol
I'm trying to get sub 29, but I can't :(
Here's why
okay, usually, the chances of me getting everything right up to the first checkpoint is about 1/10 or a 10% chance
however, when I reach the 1st checkpoint, its a matter of whether I push against the wall or not
Id say the chances of me pushing against the wall are about 30% (since it's luck)
so 30% of 10% is 3%
Now If I've managed to do all that, my nervousness and fear of messing kicks in, giving me a fifty/fifty chance
so thats 1.5%
so my chances of getting a perfect run are pretty low, but I wont stop trying
I have finals this week so this is probably my last post
I'll be back in a week or two
later ya all
And Mike, I didn't mean to rub that whole airdash thing in your face. I was just excited that's all...
sorry :(
-
I'd love to see it... Then I'd play it so much I'll get second, like the first level with Knuckles... :D
-
Damn you having 29:48 i have a 29:60 update coming up and alot of times to beat some other times of NinTenDan's about 10 of them.
-
*starts playing gameboy*
-
Get GBA out to beat all or most of Nintendans times.
