Title: Sound problems in Gens and Fusion -- please help.
Post by: Muzozavr on December 15, 2008, 04:00:33 am
Thanks to a certain YouTube video, I've finally found where Realtek HD keeps the microphone boost, but there's one problem -- I can listen to MP3, Youtube and stuff like that completely fine, but everything from Sega Genesis emulators comes out HORRIBLY distorted, seemingly regardless of sound settings.
It doesn't seem to affect just one particular sound channel, each one seems distorted on it's own.

Of course I could just turn mic boost back off, but that's a pain in the ass. Is there any way to deal with it and keep the mic boost?

This is still a problem. GENS10A actually does play the music and sounds correctly, but GENS Plus and KEGA won't.

KEGA is worthless...

So is GENS Plus then?

I repeat, GENS10A is the only emulator I could find that can handle Realtek HD's mic boost properly. Everything else, including GENS Plus gives hilariously terrible sound (though, strangely enough, Launch Base somehow becomes even MORE kickass, but the rest is entirely horrible)

Gens+ isn't as full-featured as Gensmovie... why use something that doesn't do what you need it to?

Gens also currently does not emulate the vram bug that S2Delta suffers when running on both Kega and the actual hardware

Kega >> Gens

I never pondered that...  I wonder if someone ever fix'd the old NES games that had things you couldn't do or the game would die...
