I've found a Hydrocity video which looks like it has the potential to be a record-smasher, but I just can't pull it off to see.

He lands in some strange location and dies of drowning. Which sucks, because the glitch is BIGTIME EPIC.

Indeed it is... however, the "layer" tag on sonic is wrong, so I believe he's stuck where he is... I could be wrong, though...
I'd have to test it out, this thought is just prelim based on my knowledge of the game...
also, I thought everyone knew about this...

From the looks of it, it's got no major use.
Notice that the wall zip performed herein takes you to the repeating sequence of the act. You would have to backtrack all the way back through the entire sequence to even get near the boss.

perhaps there's a jump that could be implemented somewhere to put you more in-line with a speedrun? hadn't pondered that...
I wish I had a savestate to fool around with...

Can you zip to the right in this case? Bah, I so wish I could pull it off and fool around on a savestate.
