Here comes a new challenger
« on: December 17, 2012, 04:43:42 am »
Hi guys

I've been playing SU and SG for about a month and I'm still trying to get a feel for the stages. I enjoy watching speedruns and would love to recreate some of that good stuff.

I would like to know where can I ask questions like how to perform glitches. The tutorials aren't really cutting it for me.

You can ask questions here. Got any questions?
When I got a new level, I immediately speed run through it. That's why I always fail. ^_^

Hey, welcome. Feel free to ask questions in the forums, or you can try the IRC channel (click the Chatroom header on the sidebar, or go to #soniccenter on irc.surrealchat.net) if you'd like.

The Sonic community seems so welcoming

I have a question pertaining to the M/D-Speed glitch.
To perform the glitch, do I simply

walk forward, jump, boost, stomp?

Is there a way where I can tell if I've succeeded in performing it?

Best places to ask stuff is on the IRC (click the chatroom BAR on the side), or post something in General Sonic/ Competition Central.

Hey, I've seen your vids before. They were quite informative. But I just want to get this down.

To perform the M-Speed, is it just

  • Walk slowly
  • jump
  • air boost
  • stomp and slide

What is the reasoning behind this glitch? How does Sonic reach higher speeds than usual?

Well actually its pretty simple.

"Find the position where sonic begins to walk slowly"

HOLD that position

and reach the "red" speed on the speedgauge

- Either through QSS, Stomping, snake drifting or just plain boost.

let go of boost and jump WHILE holding that position.
