"Well played, Sonic.  I thought I had you there.  See what I mean about what doesn't kill you makes you stronger?"
"I haven't had so much fun getting hit by spikes since Marble Zone."
"This Marble Zone you speak of...I've been there.  What's so dangerous about it that you get hit?"
"Not all of us can just climb the wall and ignore everything, Knucklehead.  There's a whole vast underground world there, and you have to experience it to believe."
"I guess so.  By the way, what are the latest football scores?"
"Wait a minute...don't you owe me something?"
"You got me.  One cough drop, coming up."

With two cough drops in hand, Sonic set out for more.  Knuckles continued to follow him.
"You know what else would be a good idea, Sonic?  Why don't you--"

THWACK!

Sonic had had enough of Knuckles' silly suggestions by now, and decided to shut him up with a punch to the face.  This obviously triggered Knuckles' full fury.  "ONLY I GET TO PUNCH ANYONE IN THE FACE!  Come back here, Sonic, so I can show you what a REAL punch is like!"

Everyone knows Knuckles can't run for much, though, so Sonic was able to keep away.  The nondescript land seemed like a nightmare to Sonic, as all he could do was keep running, but he came across a floating platform high in the air.  With a full leap, he found himself safe.

"Why do I have to have such bad leg strength?" Knuckles wondered.  "You've beaten me again..."

Sonic was safe.  But what could he do now?  Just stay here on this platform for the rest of his life...or until Knuckles learns to jump high enough to catch him?  Maybe punching the local bully in the face wasn't such a good idea.  These thoughts were interrupted, as Sonic saw something falling from the sky...getting closer...it looked like it was heading for the exact platform he was on...something pink...Amy?

Sonic moved to the very edge of the platform, not wanting to be crushed, however amusing it would be that Amy would be responsible for causing severe damage to him.

"Where the hell did you come from?"
"Don't you know?  I've started taking up skydiving.  That time I managed to do 47 frontflips and 11 twists.  Wasn't that a spectacular jump?"
"With no parachute?"
"Relax, Sonic.  Who do you think I am, a fat plumber that dresses in red?  It's not like long falls can actually hurt me.  Anyway, I'm glad I found you."
"What is it this time?"
"I just want to make an offer."
"Does it involve you stopping bugging me?"
"I want you to marry me, so if you agree, I guess I will stop bugging you.  Oh yeah, and there's something else I'll give you if you say yes.  Two words, starting with C and D."

Sonic had never in his life been faced with such a tough decision.  Time went by, before he finally made his decision.

"You know what?  I've had enough of this.  See this fist?  The blood is from when I punched Knuckles in the face.  Imagine what I can do to you.  And I will."

Amy couldn't stop crying.  "Everything I had, you keep destroying.  I seriously love you.  I couldn't live with the thought of being the one who destroys you.  But if this is how you insist on being, I have no choice but to knock some sense into your head."  With that, she pulled out her world-famous hammer and took a big swing.

It never connected.

Sonic had jumped up and pried the hammer out of Amy's hands after she missed, then broke out in a psychotic grin.  "That was a really dumb move of you.  Everyone knows a hammer is only good for hitting things for which you know where they're going to be.  Fast targets will defeat you, every time.  Now I'm the one with the hammer.  You've just made my life much easier."  With the hammer in one hand, he spun around for a whirlwind attack, but was cut short.

"STOP!"
Amy continued.  "I took the cough drop and hid it in an item monitor.  Happy now?"
"Of course not.  Do you know how many item monitors are out there?  How can I check each one to see if it's the right one?"
"You'll know which one.  I'm sure you're familiar with all the types of monitors on Little Planet...this isn't like any of them."
"WHOA!  What's that?" Sonic quickly shifted his attention, pointing to what looked like a fireball coming down from the sky.
"Looks like I'm not safe here much longer.  That's Metal Sonic in hypercharge mode.  I guess he caught on to my skydiving habits.  You go and find the cough drop.  I want to make sure it falls into good hands before my inevitable capture...that is, if I can trust you any more..."

Before Amy could complete the last sentence, Sonic had run off, scouring everything around for signs of the hidden cough drop.  She wished he had stuck around longer so he could actually hear directions on how to get to it, and just for the slim chance that she would get to hold his hand one last time, but it was too late.  All Amy could do was run.  Run for her life.  Again.

Orange Cough Drop Challenge: Go into time attack mode in Sonic CD and choose any level.  Without using cheats, open up a monitor, at which point the challenge is complete.  Note: Ring, shield, invincibility, speed shoe, and 1-up monitors don't count.

WARNING: Challenge not recommended for anyone allergic to hedgehogs.  May cause dizziness.  Completing 3 or more challenges in a 24-hour period is likely to cause addiction.  And no, a cough drop isn't going to save you from any of these effects.

And it looks like Gens+ can actually record sonic cd ones if "open and record input" is chosen.
It'll say stuff about not having bios files configured when you try to play it, but just hit okay, and it'll play through fine.

Well....I did this.

Ill make a vid when/if I ever get Gens to run SCD.

Failing that I could take multiple pictures of the console or something. Actually I think 2 (?) pictures would be needed to show whats needed.

Since I did it first time round I havent been able to do it since, everytime I get to the area with the clock monitors, Sonic dies, reagardless of where I am in relation to height in the scenery, even if I have an invincibility active :/

Note: When paused Sonic disappears from view, you can tell where he is in the first shot by the circle of stars, in the second you just know hes somewhere above where the box was. Also sorry for the jaunty camera angles, but that was the only way I could make the pictures semi-decent. Also the glare is the flash off the camera so flarg or something

Thorn EDIT: Debug mode is your friend.  Granted, you can't submit a run with debug mode, but you can go back normally and locate the monitors again.
P.S. Sorry for editing a post in your child board SM, but this didn't feel important enough to make another post for.

The thing is, I just tried the Debug cheat last night, but when I went back to Time Attack, all that happened when I press B is Sonic disappears for about a frame. And I can't go on the springs.

Debug Mode isnt allowed for challenges unless it is to get S3K characters into the "wrong" levels
