General Sonic / Sonic R maps.
« on: April 30, 2007, 12:26:33 pm »
Uhm, I looked through the Sonic R PC folder  and found the four maps, They're pretty small, but better than nothing? However, here they are:

Resort Island:

Radical City:

Regal Ruin:

Reactive Factory:

And behold, the amazingly detailed map of Radiant Emerald:

>_>

I'm pretty sure the Gems Collection has higher-resolution ones, but getting these is far beyond my haxx0r skillz.

General Sonic / Graphics style.
« on: April 28, 2007, 04:06:56 pm »
Which graphic style in Sonic games do you like best? Since the series has undergone a lot of cosmetic changes since its beginning...
I personally like both the psychedelic and anime-esque style of Sonic CD as well as the cold, realistic one from Sonic 1 and Sonic Adventure 2 (which I seem to prefer...). While the cartoony, flashy, eye-blinding graphics of for example Sonic 2 or Heroes suck @$$ for me.

Wikkity! / Best flash movies on the internets.

Forget Newgrounds, RSF is a LOT better!

It's a Japanese site with a lot of flash movies. While some of them are rather boring, you should definetely check out their sprite flashes.

The 3 SEGA Fantasies (Final Fantasy 4-6 with video game consoles. Unlike the others they have (Japanese) text, though.) :

Michael Fantasy, Michael Quest and Michael Forever (Michael Jackson in various NES games. It's a lot better than it sounds, with excellent music.) :

And finally my personal favourite, a Super Mario World based one:

Leaderboard Disputes / I call some kind of BS-like.
« on: March 09, 2007, 03:03:11 pm »
Well, it's not against a specific person.
It's about some of the Sonic CD times. The "Run against the most left wall of a zone while wearing power sneakers"-glitch which is useful in CC2 and can be used to access the secret room in PP3 with the beta monitors doesn't work in the Gems version of the game. This may be a little unfair, if you ask me.

Competition Central / Flicky scores

It was in the Mega Collection and the main character appeared in a lot of Sonic games, so does it count?
Anyways, I enjoy the game and it's actually more fun than some of the latest Sonic games... [cough]Shadowthehedgehog[/cough]

My poor score: 140,890

General Sonic / Other developer than Sonic Team?
« on: March 02, 2007, 07:29:07 am »
In my opinion, Sonic Team has failed. Their last games were crap, they keep adding useless stuff to the series and ruin its name. And since my two personal Sonic favorites (CD and R) were not developed by them, I would not miss them.
What do you think about that? And what other development teams could you imagine?
I would like the idea of the team behind Sonic CD being in charge of the games. It would also be interesting to see what Treasure (Ikaruga, Astro Boy Omega Factor, Gunstar...) would do with the franchise.

I love it. It's fantastic, yet very hard. But surprisingly, it's not frustrating at all. Even if you die at one point for the 10th time, you're still motivated to try it again and even have fun. And with every try you get a bit further. (Haven't gone further than the prologue of Chapter 4 yet.)
The music is awesome too. Now I've gotta look for something to turn my TV...

General Sonic / Favourite badnik estate?

No chaos drives, since they're in the G.U.N. robots.

I don't like the small animals because in the 2D Sonic games they just run off (in Marble Zone straight into the lava >_>) and in the 3D games I prefer chaos drives for Chao raising since they don't have these annoying parts. And if you do want to style your Chao, you are better off looking for the animals hiding in the stages. Argh! I'm chaoing again! *slaps*

I like the flowers best. They mark your victory and stay in the Zone until you finish it. And if you run past them you feel like you've actually done something. Or not.

General Sonic / Which Sonic CD soundtrack?
« on: January 17, 2007, 02:24:07 pm »
The original one for me. The music matches the rounds a lot better and each one has a tune that spans through all the time zones. At first I was shocked by "Sonic You Can Do Anything" and "Cosmic Eternity", but after I listened to them a few times I've grown to like them even better than "Sonic Boom". ...Almost...

Information Kiosk / Question on Sonic R rankings
« on: January 17, 2007, 09:06:15 am »
When I looked at the Sonic R times, I wondered wether the times for single/three laps are from the GP, the Time Attack or the reverse Time Attack mode?

Hiya Folks / Hello.
« on: January 16, 2007, 04:32:52 pm »
Hello. I'm P.P.A. and I wanted to introduce myself (obivously). My favourite Sonic games are Sonic R, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (because of the Chao) and especially Sonic CD.
I joined here because I really need a real Sonic forum, beacuse I'm sick of these "Look at my 1000th fan-character!" sites and I'd like to match my times in Sonic CD and Sonic R with those of other players. (And get ashamed of my lousy skills.)

Hello everyone.
