I realise this site's a bit of a ghost town these days, but thought I'd post about this anyway (maybe pedantic, but I think it's worth addressing).

Firstly, looking through videos for different games, I notice that a lot of the links are now broken; either the site/channel doesn't exist anymore, or the uploader took down/moved the video, or the player superseded it with a better run, etc. I would be happy to trawl through and make a list of all such submitted videos, so that they can be removed or the links fixed. (Also, I like the site feature where a video automatically becomes submitted if it's linked in a stat comment, though this results in redundant entries when runners improve their runs, as previous entries are kept.)

Secondly, particularly with all the embedded videos, it made me think, have any admins/mods made any backups of them? Just for posterity it may be worth doing, it would be a shame if a lot of content was lost. It would be quite a task for one person to have to download and store every video, but perhaps people would be happy to make backups for certain games and categories etc.

Information Kiosk / Subsite Charts Down?

It seems that the subsite charts (MegaMan Center, Mario Center, and Mario & Sonic Center) have been down for some time, at least the links appear to be broken; any plans to get them back up?
(P.S. is it still possible to change your forum username, or am I just being a moron and not seeing the option? =P)

Beef / Stat Comment didn't go through...?

Hello y'all,
I thought I may as well ask about this - I submitted a statistic for Sonic Drift (this is the one: http://www.soniccenter.org/members/danieldude/sonic_drift/times/labyrinth/red) with the comment 'Sonic', but the stat has processed with no comment. Is there a reason for this?

EDIT: I just submitted this statistic with a long comment, and it hasn't gone through either. :(

Earlier this evening I bumped into this old topic in the forum started by RPGnutter, in which someone linked a song that they were listening to, and then someone else replied with their opinions on the song and linked another song. This started a continuous chain of song linking and commenting, and this carried on for a good two months before the topic died down. So I thought I'd revive the idea and give it another shot – it'll be interesting to see what folks make of it now. Also, I'm going to say that each member can only post in this topic once every three days, to give everyone a fair chance. (I'll be posting in the format 'Artist – Album – Track', although it doesn't really matter.)

I'm just curious as to why there aren't any single lap charts for Sonic Drift and Sonic Drift 2. Is there a reason for this?

Whenever I choose a file for my forum avatar and click 'change profile', the profile just gets set to 'no avatar'. I've tried this with JPEG and PNG images. Is this problem particular to my account? It worked fine before. Help please??

Wikkity! / Test your typing skills- again!

OK, so I was just reading through the 'Test your typing skills' topic, which may ring a bell for those of you who were around here back in '07, and I though, why not try it again? Users who took the test in the past can compare their current stats with their old stats, and see by how much they have improved (or, God bless them, worsened). Once people start posting I will edit this post and include a leaderboard, ranking those who took part. Seeing as I'm a pretty bad typer (never got taught, never bothered to learn), and use my forefingers for most of the keys, I rest at a satisfactory 48 words per minute.

Make sure to do 'Sentences, 2 min'! (The sentences are rather odd, don't you agree?).
English is preferable, but if you can type better in another language, then feel free to try that language instead. Unless your language of choice isn't there, to which all I can say is 'Too Baaaaaaaad!'.

What was the best Christmas present you received this year? I got a ripstick and I've been riding it all day! Sooooo fun! I also got some sweet roller blades which I've been using this afternoon. Finally I got a professional Poker Case- I know what I'm doing tonight!!

So, what about you guys? (Unless you don't celebrate Christmas, in which case you're probably thinking 'screw this guy' right now!)

Competition Central / Sonic Drift in PAL = no?

Hallo! I own a copy of Sonic Mega Collection Plus (PS2 PAL) and I love playing Sonic Drift. I'm not bad at the game myself and I would love to compete, but when I checked the competition rules it turns out you can't play a PAL version of the game. I was just curious as to why not. Explanation?

OK, this is where people can cough it up and admit if they use emulators to play certain Sonic games which is PIRACY!! (unless you own the games on their respective consoles- did I even need to point that out?!). Most of us here are too obsessively wrapped up with competition to give a s*** about the law but I was just curious to see who sits behind the computer to play their Sonic games and what games they play. I admittedly play Sonic CD on Gens (but I might get SGC PS2 sometime if I can be arsed to spend $15 on a compilation that only includes 1 game that isn't classified under 'trash').

Hiya Folks / Hallo TSc dudes!

Hello dudes on TSC! I've been a member since the end of summer, but haven't really been active on the site much, and thought I might as well say my greetings now rather than never.
I'm not the best gamer (by that I mean I'm pretty bad) and my parents don't let me play games much at all, but I still love 'em!
I've been playing SAdv3 lately, so I'll be submitting stats for that game!
I also got the two Sonic Adventure games for my birthday in August, and they're great!!
Overtime I am hoping to submit more stats and improve at various Sonic games.
I adore Sonic CD (even though I play it on emulator on laptop cuz I ain't got it or Gems Collection), and I love Sonic 1-Knuckles too. I also love the other 2D Sonic games out there. Like I said before, the Adventure Games and Heroes are great and I enjoy colours+unleashed.
Oh well, enough about me, just hope that y'all have a nice time here on the site!
